My husband and I recently stayed at the Trowel and Hammer Inn as we were attending a wedding nearby. It's a no-frills Inn situated within a quiet pub in Norwich city centre and is easily reached by cab from the train station, making it an ideal location for a city break. The rooms themselves are no-frills, but our room was... More

Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, as was the whole of the building as far as we could see. The location is excellent, being a short walk from the city centre. The only reason for 4 not 5 stars was the breakfast. It was very good food cooked and served well but we were only offered the full... More

I wish I had not booked to stay at this place for 2 nights. I'd done my homework, so I thought, and, because of the reviews, decided to book the large room (Room 5) for our 2 night stay in Norwich. It was not a good choice. When we arrived we found the large car park packed full of cars....the... More

2 Sunday roasts £12, plus 2 pints of post mix Pepsi £6. We do not feel like we've had an £18 experience. Asked for a high chair for my son and was given one covered in brown dirt and stains which the server left us with and then watched us clean. Our meals came and the server warned us the... More

Stayed for one night, we had a large room at the front, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, good bathroom all you needed, very good breakfast if a bit limited.Large car park and a nice point there is a separate entry to the accomadation so if you are not a pub person you only need to check in and out in the... We booked this place wanting something close to the city centre for the bank holiday weekend and it was very central and came with free parking, which isn't that easy to find unless you go further out. They do give over the majority of their car park to shoppers so when we arrived there were no spaces just a gap... More

To say that this is a very strange place would be an understatement; from the outside and reading the displayed menus it looks great, but inside. No character, bad beer, cheap wine; you get the idea. We walked in at quarter to eight to find ourselves alone and walked out at eight just as another couple arrived. Its not often... More

Very comfy, modern and spotlessly clean room, along with a free car park and enjoyable breakfast. This was just what we needed for a overnight stay while seeing friends and family in Norwich. It is a very short walk into the town centre too. However, we did feel at £100 a night that it was an expensive stay, given it... More

Me and my partner spent one night here over the weekend. We paid extra for a 'superior room' which looked great, very clean. It really was a shame but the hotel/ pub was having a party right below our room, the man who showed us around did tell us they were having a party but we didn't realise quite how... More
