I was part of an Australian group of over 30 people that booked out the entire hotel and annexe for a week. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, often going out of their way to make us comfortable. We'd come from Australia prepared for cold-ish weather and were surprised with warm days. Michel and the staff were more than... More

I booked out the entire hotel for a week with a group from Australia. The staff were exceptionally helpful and worked hard to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were modest, but comfortable, and catered well for our group, ranging in age from 18-80.

I paid £40 for a Saturday night stay, without breakfast. The hotel is next to the railway station. The room was described as an economy room and had a shower. It clearly had been constructed by cutting an existing room in half, so apart from the single bed and shower, it was very small. It was also in the hotel... More

We stayed in an annex to the annex, which was interesting. The room was basic, but had all amenities and was clean. Everything in the bathroom worked. The hotel is fairly run down overall and I couldn't say the breakfast was particularly impressive. For £80/night it's really not very good value, but it was the best we could find.

Good bits Very reasonable price for clean comfortable room Fab breakfast using their own bacon from the owners smallholding, only £5 for good selection of cereals, yoghurts and a full english! Service courteous and unobtrusive Niggles No double glazing... More

We stopped in Room 24. Yes it does look a bit run down, but it's away from the main road, which is busy. It's great value, the breakfast is WONDERFUL. The room may look a bit rough around the edges but it's clean and feels like a decent place to put your head down. Have a breakfast here as it... More

Stayed in a single room for one night. The room was in the annex, it was a nice clean room with on suite and the bed was very comfy. Staff were very friendly. Check in/out was a pleasure. Even gave me a parking permit for £10 deposit which you get back when you check out. Breakfast is a must. I... More

We stayed for 2 nights in the very basic twin room. Room was spacious, clean with a nice big window with beautiful riverside view. There is quite busy road just in front of the hotel, so it is a bit noisy. Clean bathroom, good breakfast, friendly staff.

We booked the hotel for a Sunday night as we were going to the racing at fakenham and wanted a centrally located hotel in Norwich for the evening to visit a few of the local hostelries. On arriving I was greeted like an old friend by Julie and thalos. They could not have been more helpful and gave me a... More
