First room allocated to us was absolutely disgusting;sticky, badly stained carpet, furniture shabby and stained, dressing table chair ripped and with stuffing coming out. Mould in bathroom. Totally unacceptable. Second room was marginally better - at least it was reasonably clean but the painted wallpaper was coming away from the wall in several places due to damp. There was a... More

An overnight stay, nice place, clean, tidy, just in need of a face-lift. Swimming pool was great, but the best bit was the breakfast!! Absolutely gorgeous, so would definitely recommend for that alone.

Stayed here for one night and used the gym/ pool twice as they were good facilities . Booked small double room which was fine for a single room. There were tea and coffee making facilities and good facilities with plenty of storage space, staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was for 3 and was spacious enough. The decor was very tired and just really needs a good lick of paint. The reception staff were extremely helpful and polite. Didn't have chance to use the facilities but they looked good.

The hotel was clean, friendly staff , got to use the facilities with out £34.00 a night room , more than impressed and will be going back there soon . Early check in 14.00 and late check out 11.00 made all the difference too.

I would agree with other reviewers that a total refurb is needed here. Tired decor and fittings, dated and expensive menu in restaurant. All valid criticisms made by other visitors. However, staff friendly and room and public parts clean. Probably value for money and was clearly very popular.

Not sure when this hotel was built, probably in the 60s or 70s and it seems as if the rooms haven't been touched since. The only reason to stay there is convenience as the experience is not one to repeat if you can avoid it. Put a Premier Inn up against the Sporting Lodge and the Premier Inn wins by... More

Dont ever stay here. Was here 5 years ago and it was awful. Was told it had improved (not). Stay at home. Rooms are very unkempt, poor decorating. Valance sheet disgusting, hope actual bed is not worse. Dreading going to bed. If I could get my money back I would.
