The hotel itself looks and feels just like a rather grand, 300-year-old town house, complete with richly furnished drawing room, library, parlour and courtyard garden. Our characterful bedrooms are all furnished with genuine antiques and named after real people who lived in the area. Our bathrooms all have period fittings, refurbished, of course, to modern standards of efficiency.

Absolutely loved our short stay at Batty Langleys. We booked very last minute (about 2 hours before check in) as a spur of the moment date night and they were amazing! We drove from Essex and had dinner reservations at 6:15, we didn’t arrive at the hotel until 5:55pm so it was tight! When we told the guy on reception, he was absolutely brilliant - he walked and talked, got all the info in we needed to know and told us to come back down after dinner if we had any questions. There was a cab waiting for us too 5 minutes later. Our room was absolutely lovely and the bath was beaaaautiful! Everything was perfect. We ordered breakfast to the room the next day which was also lovely. The courtyard is a beautiful place to relax with a glass of Vino at night and the library is extraordinary. All of the staff we met were absolutely lovely. Throughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back!

One of our favourite places to stay in London. Fabulous decor and every room is a wonder. Love all the terraces and the individuality. Fantastic breakfast delivered to your room and beautifully presented. Friendly staff. The room was beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the location was very convenient yet quiet.

This is a small boutique hotel with gorgeous rooms and 18th century style furnishings and paintings. Our room was attractively appointed, spacious and cosy and a real respite after a long day of touring around London. The location is perfect, on an historical street once inhabited by Huguenot silk weavers in the 18th century. The buildings in the area, for the most part, have remained authentic to the period and are beautifully maintained. A short walk brings you to to Spitalfield’s Market and excellent local eateries. While there is no restaurant per se there is an exceptional room service kitchen where they make wonderful breakfasts served on a tray each morning and other meals as requested during the day and evening. We have never experienced such exceptional service in any hotel we have visited. The staff became like friends and we were very sorry to say goodbye after the three weeks we visited. There is a service for laundry available and they can arrange for a car to take you to and from the airport. We highly recommend Batty Langley’s to anyone who would like a truly memorable experience in London! It is like stepping back in time. We cannot think of a single criticism or suggestion of what the staff could do better! They were so considerate in taking care of anything we needed.

The second we walked into the hotel we knew this place was special. We had just got married the day before and with the current uncertainties about travelling abroad we decided to have a “mini-moon” in London. With it being a special trip to the capitol we needed a hotel that wasn’t only central but somewhere that was unique and different from the other generic hotels. It’s safe to say that Batty Langleys ticked all the boxes and so much more. Walking into the lobby was like walking into another world, away from the towering office blocks which surround this little bubble of peace and quiet in an otherwise busy part of London. The welcome we got at reception was warm and genuine, and from the get go nothing was too much trouble for this hotel’s team. Before going to our room we were given a tour of the hotel where there are little nooks and crannies tucked away where you could relax and take in the surroundings, such as the library which was our particular favourite in the evenings. The classic decor of the hotel continued in to our room (a Deluxe double) which was spacious and impeccably clean. Our four poster bed was especially impressive and incredibly comfortable. What surprised us the most with the hotel was how quiet it was. There is some major construction work going on near the hotel and honestly you wouldn’t have known it. The attention to detail is clear and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into every aspect of the hotel and your stay. Our breakfast was brought to our room bang on time and it was perfect. Not a huge selection to chose from but what is there is delicious and great quality. Having the huge transport hub Liverpool Street station a 5 minute walk away was great and meant we were never too far away from any of our planned activities (West End show, Shard, Museums…). I usually end my reviews with some thing that could be improved, but honestly I’m struggling to think of any. This is an amazing hotel, not like any we’ve ever stayed in. We’re already playing another stay next year. Thank you Batty Langley’s for helping to make our honeymoon perfect.

This is my second time staying at Batty Langley’s, I brought my partner along to show him what the fuss is about this time! A calm oasis only a stones throw away from Spitalfields Market and Liverpool Street station. Excellent staff who go out of their way to resolve any issue, sumptuous rooms which are generous in size and facilities and beautiful breakfast options! We also liked the well stocked honesty bar and hidden enclosed outside patio. A perfect escape!
