Travelers' Choice
The hotel itself looks and feels just like a rather grand, 300-year-old town house, complete with richly furnished drawing room, library, parlour and courtyard garden. Our characterful bedrooms are all furnished with genuine antiques and named after real people who lived in the area. Our bathrooms all have period fittings, refurbished, of course, to modern standards of efficiency.

We stayed here in mid-March and found it to be a fantastic experience. Location was perfect - it’s close to Liverpool Street but not too close. Also near to Spitalfields Market. When we arrived our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise. We not only had a wonderful bedroom area, but also a sitting area/lounge where we could have pre-dinner drinks/relax. Everything was immaculately decorated up to and including the rather impressive toilet - which looked more like a throne! A few other positives. The hotel has a few cozy (and well stocked) honesty bars which we used a few times during our stay. The breakfast, which we ordered to have in our room was excellent, particularly the fresh pastries and bagels. And finally service was professional and polite throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend and stay again!

I have stayed at Batty's three times now, and it is perfect every time. I am from the UK but live in NYC, so when I am back in London I love to stay in Spitalfields. Close to the city but also to all the fun stuff East London has to offer. Batty's is a perfect quiet, cozy hideaway in the middle of a very busy area. Stepping inside is like stepping back in - except with all the modern comforts you could need. Something of a hidden gem - long may it retain it's charm in a world of samey cookie-cutter hotels.

Just and amazing place. They have thought of everything its almost like you are in your own home. But the staff make it. We stayed 2 nights with a change of room each night. The first the outstanding Bollingbroke and the second one of the lesser bedrooms. Both were fantastic and the breakfast are fit for a king. If you want a cheap hotel in London thios is not for you. This is refined elegance on an amazing level

So this is an ideal place to stay if you want beautiful, cosy (but spacious by London standards) rooms that are way different to the sterile norm. Everything was thoughtful,it was a beautiful and really quiet place to come back to with a gorgeous bed, huge bath and shower, perfect to come home to after a busy day in London. Very approachable staff, we stayed one night and had plans however I'm sure could help with anything at all you might want. Its five minutes walk from the majour hub at Liverpool Street. I've stayed in numerous London hotels from Shangrila at the Shard, lots of middle, to you-get-what-you-pay-for travelodges in awkward places. If it's your normal budget I would say its worth it for its charm. If it's a special treat, you definatly wont be dissapointed. A break from the norm!

This property is charm incarnate from the moment you walk in the door. The staff are extraordinarily helpful and considerate, and made this already pleasant stay truly fantastic. The three lounges are each a pleasure in and of themselves, and part of me wished I had enough time to sit by the fire for a whole afternoon reading! This property is a very convenient walk to Liverpool Street Station, which is the most convenient location I have yet stayed at in London (and this was my 11th visit to that fine city - I've mistakenly always stayed in the West End before). If circumstances allow, I will spoil myself during every future trip with a stay at Batty Langley's.

Excellent hotel, which we rate 5* and will come back to. Gorgeous rooms with wonderful decor, luxurious baths and sumptuous beds. And delicious breakfasts - best bacon sandwich in London! Location is extremely good for many different needs and interests.

Just perfect. Stayed here for 2 nights for a birthday trip to London and it was like having your own private residence. The owners have got this just right, beautiful antique furniture throughout, some repurposed to house the bedroom TV and mini bar. Our room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise. Homely lounges with fires lit and help yourself to drinks and cocktails, what could be better. Breakfast is served in your room, so again very private and homely. You really feel like you should pop your slippers on once through the front door. Every member off staff we dealt with was friendly, helpful and professional. Location is perfect too, very quiet, but with plenty of places to eat and drink, Spitalfields Market is a 3 minute walk around the corner.

Blissful, weekend stay to celebrate my 60th birthday, ten years after celebrating my 50th at their sister hotel the Rookery. What can you say, these hotels are just perfect, quirky and different. Staff are amazing, ticks every box, they just get everything right.

A truly special experience. I stayed at Batty Langley’s in January 2024, for a weekend with friends, and the hotel is just wonderful. It’s truly unique, and quite unlike anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and it is like staying in a luxurious home, right in the centre of the city, rather than the many more bland hotels that are the norm. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we are already planning to return.

We went to celebrate our daughter’s engagement. From the moment we stepped in the door we were looked after so well. Could not fault one thing in this beautiful hotel. We were also given a free upgrade which was just amazing. The beds are super comfy. Decor is incredible and the attention to detail throughout the hotel is remarkable. All the staff were very attentive and helpful. We can’t wait to come back again. Thank you for making it so special.
