The room is very well cleaned, I have loved the bathroom and the design of the hotel. On the other hand, the size of the standard room is quite small that you almost don’t have enough space for your luggage. As most of the other reviews, I recommend absolutely to avoid the breakfast since is not at all at the same standard that should be with this hotel, the area is full of nice coffee shops and other places. Our experience was not so happy also for the fact that during the night we tried many times to call the reception but we hadn’t received any reply so we had to go directly downstairs for a request. I think they need a little bit more of attention as well to keep the standard of the service high, another example? The complimentary biscuits in the room were expired and I realized it because of the terrible taste.

Dear Trek00136373401, I am very sorry to read that your expectations were not met. I am highly concerned to read the feedback about the feedback about the expired biscuits. We went through the entire stock and did not find any expired biscuits on site - I can only apologise for this shortfall. I have shared your feedback about reaching the reception at night with our Night Manager for further investigation, once again I am very sorry for the inconveniences caused. Your experience does not reflect a true impression of our usual standards. I do hope we will get a chance to welcoming you back. With kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager

First time at this property, great location. Very friendly staff, comfortable room, very well appointed and quiet. Early evening cocktails before our evenings out were excellent quality and value, highly recommend this hotel.

The room is absolutely stunning, the bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. The espresso Martini cocktail (of which I’ve had many) is the best I’ve ever had….can’t recommend the cocktails (or the hotel) highly enough

The staff here were so welcoming and polite. The lady at reception was super helpful and did anything she could to make our stay better. I do find the pictures a little misleading. Our room was very small it was difficult to move around i had to walk sideways around the room sometimes. we only space for one suitcase and the other had to be in our way the whole time as there was a locker blocking the wardrobe from opening due to lack of space. Was disappointed as I thought i’d have plenty of room based off how spacious the pictured rooms were. The hotel itself is beautiful and rooms are spotless.

Dear Stephanie, Thank you very much for your kind review following your recent stay with us. Whilst I am pleased to read that our service met your expectations, I am sorry to learn that you were disappointed with the size of the room we provided you with. Being a Victorian Townhouse, built in 1876, our hotel does come with some challenges such as small rooms. Please do reserve a Deluxe room on your next time, which does offer more space. We do hope we will get an opportunity to welcoming you back in the near future. With kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager

Given some of the fantastic reviews this hotel has, I was expecting better. Zero atmosphere, terrible breakfast. Most if not all the staff do not speak English that well some led to some communication problems, but most were very friendly and do their best. Room was very nice, lovely bathroom and had a balcony, unfortunately the people in the room above used this too drop their drugs baggies and cigarettes onto. But they sent a lovely cleaner up to clean it straight away. Location is great

Dear Ian, Thank you very much for the time you took to post a comment on TripAdvisor. I am sorry to read that you felt our team was unable to articulate themselves in English, which is surprising to me as some of them are native speakers. In addition with London being a melting pot with international guests it is quiet common in the Hospitality sector to have multilingual Staff working in hotels. I As mentioned in previous responses to your feedback, it is very hard to control the behaviour of other guests in the hotel. I am however pleased to read that our Housekeeping Team attended to assist with the cleaning. Once again, very sorry that your expectations were not met. Kind regards, Sarah Schmid Hotel Manager
