Great rooms. Great location. Be sure to request a room on a higher floor even if that means you have to carry your bags up more floors. There is a great pub on ground floor. Can be a bit noisy if u r on first floor and you go to bed early. Other than that I would definitely stay here again!!

Fantastic boutique hotel in a perfect location for seeing London - we will definitely be coming back to stay!
We love this hotel - it has absolutely everything we could wish for .... clean, beautifully decorated, staff so helpful & friendly, breakfast was gorgeous, we even had a little guest pantry by our room where we could make drinks & help ourselves to snacks (pub below is really lovely too!)
The location couldn't be any more perfect either - in a pretty little side street but only a minute's walk from Liverpool St Station, so everywhere is unbelievably accessible by both tube & bus.
My only comment is bring some ear plugs in case you're in a room at the front as it can be a bit noisy at the weekend at night from revellers milling around the station.

We stayed here for our 5th wedding anniversary. We arrived at check in time, but still had to wait to see if our room was ready. However the staff were polite and offered to carry my bag as we were on the very top floor, which was a lot of stairs!! Didn’t kind though as the room was nice and it meant we were far away from the bar.

The room was compact but had everything we needed. The toilet was away from the shower room which was quite handy. However there were a few issues with fixtures missing and a cracked tile. The shower was fine in our room. The mirror hadn’t been wiped and still had toothpaste residue from previous guest and there was no hand soap. Otherwise the room was very comfortable with good quality bedding and linen, there was even an iron and board which is always a nice addition! The towels were also lovely white fluffy towels, which were replaced for our second night which was good too.
We loved the idea of the pantry down the corridor and there was a really good selection of teas and coffees but also soft drink which was great as I am not a hot drinks person!

On the first morning we were both excited for breakfast as all the reviews and photos had been amazing. We went down abs were informed the extractor fan was broken so they were unable to cook breakfast. This meant we had to go and find something. This was something we hadn’t really budgeted for but luckily there was a macdonalds down the road. There was no further mention of this abs no compensation offered. I felt considering this is built into the price of the stay, something should have been offered even if it were just a free drink in the bar as a good will gesture. As we had already paid for breakfast and then had to go and buy a second. Otherwise the staff we found to be pleasant and helpful. The breakfast the second morning was AMAZING! which made us more upset we had missed out the day before.

Overall we had a good stay. The location is ideal for exploring, we were able to walk to the Tower of London and get the Thames clipper from there and the tube was only a 4 minute walk away. We will definitely be looking to stay again, although more recent reviews about the showers and the staff may change, watch this space as we are looking to book again for our 6th anniversary.

Checked into the “hotel” Actually it’s a collection of rooms above a noisy pub. When I checked in the manager was not that bothered, I was just another face checking in. When I got to the room it really cold, the windows are single glazed making it both cold and noisy as the pub/hotel was down an alleyway off the main road. The bathroom was freezing cold.
TV didn’t work for ages, but finally got it working. The room was really cold, so I put the heating on to warm the place up while I went out for food. When I got back I thought I’d shower before bed. The main on/off for the shower worked , but the temperature control on the shower was missing so when I turned the shower on it became scalding hot and could not be adjusted. I burnt myself trying to turn it off.
I went to see the manager; he came and said their nothing he can do, it’s too late, as it’s nearly 11:00 PM
I asked how do I shower/wash and get ready for work in the morning, no idea he said. I couldn’t move to another room as they were fully booked. I asked him to call a plumber, it’s a hotel, they have some type of emergency cover..... surely?
The manager said he’d call his boss. When I asked what is happening and can they fix the shower the manager told me his boss wasn’t bothered to fix the problem, and no guarantee it will be done early in the morning. A plumber isn’t coming out and there’s nothing he can do.! With no means to shower, an owner not willing to sort the problem in his property, I was forced to leave and find another place to stay at 23:30 PM
I checked out and found a proper hotel.
So... an expensive room, a cold room, above a pub, no ability to wash/shower and a manger and owner who clearly doesn’t care about their guests, they just charge an expensive rate and take the money because there’s the demand for rooms in the area! Well not if people don’t book and stay.
These are rooms above noise pub down an alleyway. The service by the staff and attitude of the owner was unbelievably bad , the rooms are not a great standard for the price that was charged. There are much better places to stay I suggest you look elsewhere.
Book the Bull and Hyde at your peril.

We have just returned from 4 nights at the ‘hotel’.
The positive: Rooms are clean and comfy, location is excellent for getting around London.
Unfortunately service levels do not match. Staff ignoring requests for basic room requests of emptying of bins/toilet paper. Left unserviced for 4 days.
Bar closed at 10pm resident or not.Lots of both internal/external noise day and night. With an indifference to impact on guests
There seems little management involvement in the running of the hotel with the bar staff left to treat guests with casual contempt. Not value for the money.

It was my 40th Birthday, so decided to spend a bit extra on the hotel. I was disappointed.

The suite was nice enough, but it did have issues- The balcony I’d paid (£60) extra for was unsightly and no views.
The toilet didn’t flush and wasn’t fixed after we reported it.
Bath was dirty, no shower door, see through bathroom door, bedroom bulb broken, no Sky Tv even though they give you a remote!

Guest book says breakfast stops at 11, but when we came down at 1030 it had finished. No offer of compensation or even a free coffee. The breakfast the next day was in a very small portion and uice not fresh as described.
The pantry was not well stocked and disappointing.

The biggest issue was the stairs, no lift, there was no warning for this. We had to go up 60 stairs, and we weren’t even on the top floor! This was not good for my health condition and I dreaded going up them.

The staff were friendly, but none wore masks

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Room was clean and tidy and was ready on time. The remote control was missing from the room and one never appeared during our stay even after asking a few times. Yea coffee making was good as well as the complimentary soft drinks and crisps. Our room had an air con unit outside the window which kept cutting in and out 24/7. Bed very comfortable. There was an issue for early breakfast on the first night as the chef was late. Luckily we had a late breakfast. Food was good but warm the plates to stop it going cold too quickly! Overall a pleasant stay

We were only staying a night so we booked a suite as it was so accessible to Liverpool Street.
The room was fantastic. Both the main room and sofa bed were extremely comfortable and each had a television.
The bathroom was amazing with soft towels and lots of goodies that smelt divine.
The pantry opposite was stacked to the brim with complementary teas, coffees , soft drinks and snacks.
Breakfast was served next day in the bar and set us up for the day.
We couldn’t recommend it highly enough

Excellent breakfast. Room was small but comfortable. Pantry was a good addition (on the top floor as they didn’t mention it to us). Location is fantastic as it’s 2 mins from Liverpool Street station which has both national rail and a tube stop with access to various lines so you can easily get to most parts of London quickly. Shower was decent and the pub it’s part of was nice with their own wine and a happy hour (although sadly it was really quiet when we were there due to covid so had to close early each night). Overall an excellent place to stay and good value for an excellent location in London.

From start to finish, staff were just attentive and just nice.
We arrived late morning, and completely understood that our room wasn't ready to be checked into.
They were more than happy/to look after our bag, while we went off, as we had something booked at 3pm.
We arrived back around 6pm, got our keys and was shown up to our suite
God, the stairs! But, it just adds to the quirkiness of the place.
We had a pantry room, next to our room, where there were hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks for our disposal.
Our room was beautiful.
Large, clean, comfy beds and a fantastic shower.
Breakfast was perfect aswell.
Cooked really nice.
Just the best staff.
These guys are amazing!
Make sure you book here!

Hi Bobituper, It varies quite a bit, as we are in the City of London weekends are quieter for us, but the restaurant is popular with people visiting London on the weekend. Always a good idea to book but you don't need to book that far in advance. Hope that helps!
