Travelers' Choice
The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell is a 13-bedroom Georgian townhouse with an award-winning cocktail lounge located just on the historic St John's Square. This eclectic property feels more like the private residence of an eccentric (and fabulous!) Great Aunt than a hotel - we like to call her Aunt Wilhelmina! Each of our rooms is completely unique, featuring different, bold shades of heritage colours and vivacious antique pieces. Every corner of the property is crammed full of collectibles, taxidermy and ‘Victoriana’ from Aunt Wilhelmina’s world travels, and as soon as guests enter the light blue front door they feel as if they've stumbled upon something secret and special. The cocktail lounge is a destination in itself. A collaboration between The Zetter Group and Tony Conigliaro (Drinks Factory and 69 Colebrooke Row), each recipe features bespoke ingredients developed and made by the bar team in the lab. Stuffed full of oddities and curios, with an open fire crackling in the grate, the relaxed, sitting room is equally suited to a lazy afternoon indulging on Afternoon Tea as it is a night of uproarious revelry. This unique boutique property is also available to hire exclusively.

We arrived for a cream tea but stayed for cocktails. The cream tea was one of the best I’ve had a mixture of the classic Wilhamina ( sandwiches )and Seymour (pastries) with a nice selection of teas. The staff (friendly and knowledgable) were welcoming and put us at ease in the lovely quirky surroundings . After we couldn’t resist in tasting some of the highest quality cocktails on offer . A pleasure going and a big thank you to the staff .

Fabulous service from all the staff and a special thanks to the manager, Alex, who remembered all the little details and could not have done any more to look after us. We will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I stayed one night at this wonderful hotel. The service from start to finish was impeccable. We were greeted by a wonderful friendly and efficient receptionist who then personally escorted us to our very comfortable room. The interior design of the hotel feels traditional yet quirky and classic but comforting. Returning late from a party we stayed up even later drinking in the cosy Townhouse bar where the staff were attentive and the other guests friendly. We thoroughly recommend Zetter!

What a delight to read, we are thoroughly delighted that you have enjoyed your stay with us, and that you have discovered us. It is often mentioned that we are super cosy on a winters night, and our team do their best to ensure that each and every guest is looked after, and that homely feeling is naturally created. We look forward to seeing you again very soon. Many thanks Angela

What an amazing find this hotel is, sumptuous rooms with large windows yet peaceful and quiet. The staff were amazingly attentive throughout our stay. So many quirky fabulous features too many to mention an absolute must to visit. Encapsulates the quirky English eccentric with impeccable service nothing was too much. It gives the feeling of a private Members Club rather than just being a ‘hotel’. The breakfast was a lifesaver after a hard evening partying. We will only be staying here when in London from now onwards just hope it does not become so popular that we are unable to book a room!
