A lovely and quirky bijou hotel with real character. Clean, crisp bedrooms - with everything you could want for an overnight stay. Peaceful location but with cafe's, bars and eateries nearby. Such history in this area - so was fascinated to find out more. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We had a special meal booked in London and decided to stay overnight, this hotel was recommended by a good friend. I think the location is perfect. The West End just a few underground stops away, the old City of London on your doorstep and the upcoming area of Shoreditch a ten minute walk away. The major stations, Kings Cross and Liverpool Street are very close along with a choice of two underground stations within five minutes. We were overwhelmed with nostalgia on check-in. To then find our room was something from 1950 but with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, flat screen TV and a Nespresso machine! The original artefacts in the room will amaze you and took us back to our childhood. We loved the modern versions of the Marshall and Roberts radios. The bathroom was lovely. Spotlessly clean, fluffy towels and amazing water pressure. The amenities were generous and of a high quality. The common areas of the hotel are like an historic film set, indeed as we checked out there was a company filming the exterior of the hotel for a TV programme (ITV -'Clerkenwell' airs this summer apparently). There is a lovely traditional Bar serving exotic cocktails. Unfortunately for us we couldn't sample at 17:30 on a Sunday afternoon as the mixologist had not arrived. We felt a little teased, settled for G & T and management assured us this will be rectified in the future. I recommend this warm and friendly, perfectly sized unique experience over larger, expensive West End hotels.

Dear Sparkyfletch, Thank you immensely for your detailed and heartfelt review of your stay with us. It brings us immense joy to hear that our hotel was recommended by a friend and that you found our location to be perfect for your overnight visit to London. We take great pride in our convenient proximity to various attractions and transportation hubs, and we're delighted that it suited your needs so well. Your nostalgic experience upon check-in is precisely the atmosphere we aim to cultivate. We're thrilled that the retro charm of our room, complemented by modern comforts like the Nespresso machine and flat screen TV, resonated with you. It's heartwarming to know that the original artefacts in the room brought back fond memories of childhood. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the lovely bathroom amenities and found our common areas reminiscent of a historic film set. The mention of our hotel being featured in a TV programme is exciting news, and we're glad you got to witness a part of that during your stay. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience regarding the unavailability of our mixologist during your visit to the traditional bar. Your feedback is invaluable, and we'll take steps to ensure such situations are rectified promptly in the future. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we couldn't be happier to hear that you would prefer our warm, friendly, and uniquely charming experience over larger, more expensive options in the West End. We eagerly await the opportunity to welcome you back for another memorable stay with us. Warm regards, Altan

Located just off of the main bustling lanes around St. John's Square, this cozy and inviting space was the ideal travel-home while visiting London. Delicious food and superb cocktails were available round the clock and were served by a gracious and knowledgeable team. The room was clean and incredibly comfortable and, honestly, included one of the best washrooms I've experienced abroad. I Look forward to a return visit with the Mrs.!!!!

Having read the reviews we were quite excited to visit this hotel, however, the experience did not live up to the hype! This was a special occasion (wife's birthday) which we did inform them, we were offered the opportunity to upgrade at a special discounted price, these prices were more expensive that what was offered at the point of booking (and still available if I was to cancel and rebook) so we didn't take the offer. The hotel was average, the air conditioning unit was very loud and sounded like a bus was idling outside the window which made getting a good night's sleep very difficult. We returned to the hotel in the evening just after 10pm and were keen to try the cocktail bar that we had read about, the receptionist told us the bar was closed and no other bar service was available (this was a Saturday night). Overall, not impressed.

From the moment you pull up you will find a hard to pinpoint but super chic vibe. This lobby/sitting area is exactly the decor Anthropologie would use if they built a boutique hotel. My room was large and filled with antiques. Cool air conditioning, fabulous toiletries, fluffy bedding all made my stay perfection. Staff was super helpful when I arrived off early flight from US. They also stored my bags on my last day. Breakfast and fresh latte were the perfect start to the day. Lucky enough to have stayed at both Zetter properties in London. I will be back!

Nice hotel but overcrowded bar with not enough room for residents and an incredibly inflexible front desk team. A mix up with our booking they refused to adjust tainted the entire stay. The receptionist could not have been more helpful but their reservations team were rude, unhelpful and really quite unpleasant. So disappointing in a nice hotel.

This is a charming hotel with warm and wonderful staff. The location is excellent, though the furnishings (and heating) could use and upgrade. But we'd definitely stay again for the ambience! It was our fourth time at the Zetter, though first time at the townhouse.

We've stayed at the Marylebone Zetter several times, and thought we'd try the other side of town this year. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, but we were a bit sad to note a few downgrades, like the loss of Ren toiletries in the rooms, no biscuits with the coffee/tea tray, and three table/side lamps in our room which didn't work. When you're paying around four hundred pounds a night you expect a bit more than that, even though we all know times are hard for the hospitality industry. Staff are generally very pleasant, though I was a bit surprised on arrival when the woman checking me in said (with some palpable agitation) that my husband (who was arriving later) would need to show his credit card - despite the fact that the room had been booked and paid for months ago. Perhaps they've had some unfortunate experiences, but it left a bad taste. It's also a bit strange to be asked if you'd actually like housekeeping to come in and make the bed - as it's a fairly upmarket hotel, yes, of course I would. The bar is a lovely cosy spot, the cocktails are good. Clerkenwell is a great part of London, full of history and curios, so as a treat I would still recommend the Zetter - it's just not as much of a treat as it used to be.
