This is our go to hotel in London. We have stayed here more than ten times and have never been disappointed. The staff is Fantastic! From Jake and the other staff at the desk to Mr. Gilbert the guest relations supervisor are all dedicated to great public service. As an example, on our visit in 2021 we were quarantined for five days. The staff was willing to go across the street to pick up meals we ordered from the Sherlock Holmes pub. any request was "no problem." This trip was easier as no covid restrictions, and we were able to enjoy our time even more. The guest laundry was available, and the staff was just a quick phone call to help set the washer to do the laundry more quickly. Any glitch was solved immediately. Mr Gilbert showed me how to use the computers in the business center to generate paperwork that made our covid testing much easier. The location is great but the staff is the key to a wonderful stay. I just wish they could be cloned and brought back to the US. The breakfast was a bit pricey, bur there are places a few steps away, I have traveled extensively for work in the US and we have stayed in numerous hotels in the UK and Ireland. This is one of the very best places to stay. Great value for the money.…
Steps from Trafalgar Square and on a nice street.....location is great and service is wonderful too! The morning coffee in the library was amazing and staff were very helpful. Would definitely return!
Visited hotel as husband taking part in ride London. Hotel lobby very grand. Room very comfortable for 3 people. Really liked the coffee lounge, the hot chocolate was lush. Hotel is central to everything. Saw a show at the Adelphi theatre. Meal in convent garden. Walk along pall mall and the south bank. Will certainly be back when we visit London.
I booked up short notice, paid £479 for a double room for one night…which isn’t expensive, but there’s cheaper out there. I wanted a nice hotel in the centre of London and the hotel looked good. On arrival I was given an early check-in which was good… sadly the room was very tired, the bathroom was outdated and the ceiling shuddered when the door closed. That said, the room was clean. For breakfast, I discovered it was not included, so needed to pay… which was a mild annoyance, but as I watched other guests presenting ‘breakfast vouchers’, I realised that the hotel was little more than a Travel Lodge. I have no issues with Travel Lodges, I have stayed in many, but for me The Grand, may have been Grand at some point in history, but it should really rename to the Not So Grand. Middle of the road for me and with a chaotic booking in process, despite the early checkin it’s a generous three star rating.…
Stayed here this weekend, entrance lobby is grand as is the location. The room though was basic with a mattress that was too soft and there was an audible buzzing all night (glad I packed ear plugs). The tea making facilities straight out of a premier Inn, cheap plastic kettle no mini fridge though you probably get some tasty snacks at Premier, nothing at the Grand! All this for £250 a night!! The good: location, room was clean, decor was quite modern. The Boyd restaurant within the hotel served me a delicious steak and the house wine was great.
Stayed at The Grand for one night with plans to attend a show in the West End before heading to Southampton for a cruise. We booked the the Superior Double, with kitchenette. Even though we did not use the kitchenette, the extra space/room and table was worth the few extra dollars/pounds. The staff, especially front desk staff were very helpful. We got to the hotel at Noon, and they were able to assign a room to us immediately (not the original assigned, but same type). Tried to leave a tip to the front desk staff, but he insisted on not taking it. Writing this review instead. Wish we had more time to use the fitness from and the Club Living Room (coffee lounge). Had breakfast at the hotel (not include in price), and was very good. We would stay at The Grand again.
We had 1 night here when visiting London with my family. The service was excellent, we arrived in London around 09.30 but being unable to check in until 3pm we arrived at the hotel in the hope of being able to leave our bags there. This was a service they offered along with being able to leave them there after checkout. This made a huge difference to the enjoyment of our very busy weekend. Our room was comfortable, although we did have to request mugs for our coffee in the room as there were only plastic cups. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable, we were worried at first that it was going to be noisy as we were at the front but thankfully it wasn’t. The breakfast was very good with a variety of hot and cold food on offer. The hotel is so well situated, if we craned our necks looking out our window we could see Trafalgar Square! We had a lot of activities arranged for our visit and the hotel was so well situated that we were able to walk to where ever we needed to go. I would most defiantly stay here again if i have another London Trip. Also, I accidentally packed the rooms TV remote which I found in my bag when i got home, I phoned the hotel rather embarrassed to “confess” the receptionist found this very amusing and gracefully accepted my apology..I immediately posted the remote back to the hotel.…
Loved our stay at the Trafalgar grand. Room not so big but clean and tidy and high floor so no noise from the street. Loved the location as we were able to explore on foot. Air con / heating was not working well, one minute cold, but then woke up hot in the room and uncomfortable. Beds super comfy. Lounge with tea coffee and hot chocolate was nice, as was the water and the ice & ice bucket on the communal floors. Staff super friendly and keen to help. Will definitely be back. Thank you Dawn x
We went as a treat for my partner as I'd bought her tickets for the West end for Xmas. The grand is perfectly located for both the west end and the site's of London. It is pricey but definitely worth it
We went to London with my wife, and spent the weekend there. Then, I stayed another 2 days for business. The staff was excellent, in particular Mr Nalin. The hotel is great, well located, and has excellent service.
