Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.

The reviews of those who made me hesitate to reserve more than one night were no doubt the result of rooms that faced a wall or upset them for some reason - and I read most of the reviews before acting. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the city and stayed 3 nights. The place was modern and worth the price. When the shower failed to drain improperly, they sent up someone immediately. Whatever we requested was acted upon. So I can only say good things about this hotel. However, the reviews of other make me suspect that there are some rooms in this hotel that I may not have liked but that appears to be a concern with many hotels. Thus, when I'm on the coast, I make certain that my room faces the water. Many people think otherwise, but a nice hotel room is everything. This hotel also served a nice breakfast buffet with great personnel seeing to your satisfaction. Located on a level above the street with a nice open view, this is a place where you can enjoy your meal. Ambiance counts almost as much as the food. We clearly enjoyed this hotel.

I am someone who works in hospitality and understand the pressure and the attention to detail it involves. A member of staff named Farhad met us as I was walking into the hotel asking for directions and advised us to dine at one of the restaurants in the hotel. By the end of our meal at the spectrum bar we was extremely happy. We ended up speaking with Farhad again in the reception area who really took the time to give us some attention and advise as to where to go after our dining experience. He is someone who really cares about what he does and he is also extremely gorgeous. We look forward to staying in the hotel and meeting Farhad again hopefully! Something was going on in the area which involved a lot of police and ambulance services but farhad reassured us and said everything is fine and reminded us to enjoy their experience and come back to him if we needed anything. We will DEFINITELY be back.

The staff is amazing, helpful and kind. I want to thank specially to Harun, Ivaylo and Lili for the excellent service, professionalism and kindness. They provide us an experience beyond expectations, giving us suggestions and taking care of us. It was a 5 star service. The food was very good, but far from the quality of the cocktails… Ivaylo and Harun did the best cocktails we ever taste. I particularly recommend the Amaretto Sour and the Raspberry Cosmopolitan. We will definitely come back again!

Pricey but oh so worth it. We were on a tour group, so maybe things were a bit better for us, but it was still an excellent hotel. Our trip included breakfast which was classic English and very plentiful. This location is great for the London Eye, river cruises, lots of eateries, and a few blocks from the Waterloo Underground Station. The beds ( we had twins,) were very comfortable, ice machine close by, very quite for sleeping. Loved it. We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our trip and one night at the end and upon our return for the last night we were given a suite with a double bed. Very nice again. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend staying here. NOTE: the majority of hotels in Great Britain do not provide washcloths, so if you really want one bring your own.
