Set within the Sea Containers building - originally designed by acclaimed American architect Warren Platner - on London’s South Bank, the hotel boasts 359 guest rooms and suites, Sea Containers restaurant serving up fresh modern cuisine, an award-winning experimental cocktail bar spearheaded by master mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana, and an exclusive rooftop bar with panoramic views over the River Thames. Designed by Design Research Studio under the creative direction of visionary Tom Dixon, Sea Containers London is also home to a maritime-inspired 56-seat cinema and spa. Inspired by the golden age of ocean cruising, a time when exotic ingredients were introduced to the world, and an abundance of fresh local produce was celebrated, the three distinctive food and drink venues each offer a dynamic experience. Flavourful dishes range from nourishing to hearty at Sea Containers Restaurant, which is perfect for an al fresco lunch by the river, sunset cocktails or an atmospheric dinner. Experience innovative cocktails in the award-winning Lyaness, voted as one of the top 50 World’s Best Bars, featuring a signature electric blue seating as well as the original sweeping green marble bar. Take in panoramic views of the London skyline from our rooftop bar 12th Knot, with its beautifully appointed lounge and outdoor terrace for unrivalled views over the River Thames.

I was very lucky to win a free stay here as my husband recommended me as an "NHS hero" for working as a junior doctor during the pandemic. Firstly, very generous to offer over 500 free rooms and breakfasts! Now we did wonder if there would be a reduction in service, because we were getting the night for free, so didn't need to be treated the same as paying guests, but this was absolutely not the case! Fantastic service from even before we checked in (we were supposed to have dinner in their restaurant but sadly there was terrible traffic in London and we didn't get there until 2 hours later than expected and the restaurant was closed). They were very accomodating as I contacted them repeatedly from the car, and didn't charge me a penalty for not making the dinner reservation as I had heard some restaurants were doing! Checking in was smooth with friendly staff, we were in a room facing the Thames which was absolutely lovely, it was so nice seeing all the twinkling lights of London reflected in the river on a beautifully clear night! The room service we ended up getting because we were too late for the restaurant was fantastic - not included in the offer but as we were getting the room free we didn't object to paying for room service!! Contact free delivery on the room service was very polite and professional. The room was absolutely lovely, lots of nice storage space, lovely comfy bed, nice chairs to sit on, beautiful bathroom and very nice toiletries. We appreciated having tea and coffee facilities in the room and whilst we would normally avoid using disposable cups, we appreciated having them instead of China ones due to the pandemic as we knew they would be clean (that being said, we had absolutely no concerns about cleanliness during our stay - the place was spotless!) Breakfast the next morning was fantastic - we did have to call someone over to ask for coffee, but after that service was impeccable and lovely food, sat looking out at the river and the Londoners walking and jogging by! We walked around London for a while after, and then returned to have afternoon tea in the lyaness bar later (not included in the free offer but something additional we chose to pay to do and we're very glad we did!) I will also be posting a review of the lyaness bar which will also be 5/5! The hotel happily kept our bags safe until we had finished at the lyaness. Overall an excellent stay, and we would absolutely consider coming here again even if we had to pay for it! My review is not influenced by the fact it was free, I looked up the cost of the rooms for bed and breakfast and would be more than happy to pay that amount in the future, although I am so thankful to sea containers for offering me this opportunity to stay! To round off our trip, we got to see the rainbow to NHS heroes and it was so lovely to read all the stories and see my name too!

Visited on the 15th December 2020 with a dear friend who took me out to dinner. The service was impeccable and our waiter was called Ishmael. Nothing was too much and from beginning to end he was attentive, polite and prompt. I will definitely attend again and hope that he is my waiter again. Absolutely excellent service and the food was great too. The ambiance was good as social distancing was in place. Next time I’ll request a River front dining spot. We were inside next to the window which was great. Wonderful restaurant. Five stars.

We stayed for the night in December. Room was lovely, great hotel. Booked in for dinner at the restaurant and amazed to see in 2020 not one vegetarian or vegan main course option! The mushroom pasta has Parmesan on. I asked for this to come without but it still came with it all over. Please get some more plant based options on your menu, it’s not just vegans/vegetarians who want these.

We came straight from our wedding and couldn't have been greeted by more welcoming and helpful people. Joe the guest experience manager gave us drinks on arrival, upgraded our room and arranged breakfast for us every morning. In such a rubbish situation with Covid, we have had so much stress this year re arranging our wedding etc and staying here you would bearly notice Covid was still a thing (obviously they have safety measures in place) but apart from that it was such a relaxed, enjoyable experience and so lovely to get away from all that stress and anxiety for a couple of days. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway to London to stay here, we had a beautiful suite that was clean and tidy, all staff were amazing and also they have an app that you can use to book breakfast etc. That was absolutely amazing. Honestly I could not praise them enough.

Stayed at the Sea Containers for one night Saturday 12th Dec 2020. Check in was quick & simple. Baggage taken straight to room while me & my Friend headed to the Bottomless Brunch which we pre booked due to Covid restrictions. The staff was all fantastic, very helpful and kept the drinks flowing while we ate our meal. Great choice on the Menu, the food was outstanding, very tasteful. We booked into the Bar later on in the evening due to limited space because of Covid restrictions but did not disappoint. Rooms was lovely looking over great views of London. Very clean & cosy. Breakfast was amazing. Over looking BlackFrairs Bridge. Didn’t have any problems with my short stay so I would definitely stay here again & also recommend this hotel to others. Really good weekend away Hope to return soon.
