As a student studying at LAMDA I was looking for a budget friendly place that could ease my transition into this new country. I found all of this and more at the Rockwell. The superb staff and excellent accommodations were perfect for my stay. Everyone was very attentive and had answers for me when it came to finding restaurants and...

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The personnel was very welcoming and helpful. I was upgraded to a superior single room (for free). The room and the bathroom were well heated, the room is equipped with a big TV and many channels to choose from. The room and the bathroom were spacious and quite bigger than a...

I have stayed in many hotels in this area (from small B&B to large chains), but The Rockwell is the first I know that I will go back to next time! The main reason being the great staff, who went out of their way to be kind, helpful and accommodating. I stayed in a superior single room, which was small,...

My girlfriend and I stayed for four nights at the rockwell and we are very satisfied with both the standard and service of the hotel. Our room faced the road, but the windows are apparently quite soundproof because we never heard anything but the occasionaly muted siren. The hotel itself is situated in a very nice neighbourhood with some nice...

I always find it hard to find a decent hotel in London without having to fork out extortionate prices to be in a good location.. You can play it safe with a holiday inn or similar, but this time I took a chance on The Rockwell Hotel, located a stone's throw away from Earl's Court Tube Station. So location wise...

I stayed in room 107 for a long weekend recently. This is a small hotel with something like 40 rooms and they pack a lot of value into such a little hotel. Very helpful and pleasant front desk - when I arrived before 7 am they cheerfully offered me a pot of coffee and to relax in the parlor. Wonderful...

It is always nice when someone compliments our breakfast- our products are carefully sourced from Borough Market. As you rightly say we are not a luxury hotel but a small, stylish and well priced hotel in a great location. It is always good to read a review by someone who really gets it! The Rockwell hotel, close to Earls Court or High Street Kensington (my preference) is a small and well kept, and designed, hotel. Great value for money. That's their best asset. You can find hotels with better everything, but then you will have to pay more money. The small room are very small. The beds are ok-ish. The restaurant and bar...

The Rockwell is in a great location close to transport, attractions, restaurants and shops. Our room was spacious and clean. There was plenty of natural light from large windows which did have blockout curtains for a restful night's sleep. Despite being on busy Cromwell Road our room at the rear of the building was very quiet. Earl's Court train station...

The Rockwell is a small, modern hotel (almost no decoration at all) convieniently located just a short walk from Earl's Court tube station. It must have been a very beautiful building once with high ceilings and grand staircases. I booked a single room, which was a bit smallish, but the bed was big and the shower room a third of...

Everything about the hotel was very good, helpful staff, good rooms and air/heating, and location near transit. Excellent value given London prices. It is a basic hotel. But unless you wish to spend a lot of time at the hotel and are therefore seeking more ambience, charm, and style, it is a solid choice for the traveler.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
