I decided to stay in this hotel to celebrate my birthday and I did enjoy my stay a lot. I found wonderful the swimming pool area, the sauna and the jacuzzi included as complimentary when booking my room. I felt so relaxed and it was very peaceful. The staff of the hotel was great, very attentive, polite and warm. I felt that it was a fantastic hotel located in a very convenient area. I would select it once again if I had to stay in London.

Large groups sitting around the lobby area. Many guests ignoring notices about wearing face coverings. Even in the lift,so had to use the back stairs. Breakfast was a carrier bag with some pre-packed sugary items. Supposed to be left outside the room but we had to go to reception to get ours. Really poor. Stayed at several other hotels this week all of which did things much more competently. This was a good hotel before lockdown. It felt like it has gone down hill and down market.

Hotel in a great location, round the corner from the tube stop and several takeaways and shops nearby. Room was very large and clean. Requested a room with a view of St Pauls which was lovely. The TV in the room didn't work. We were told we could possibly move rooms, but we were in a rush to leave for a restaurant booking and we were told we would lose our view that we payed extra for. Maintenance could not come out till after our stay, specifically 'the following week', which was very disappointing. We were also put in a disabled room, meaning the sink and bath was too low and the toilet too high, making things very awkward and difficult. We were told we could not leave our bags at the hotel due to COVID restrictions (something that other hotels we have visited have offered). The staff member we spoke to was very rude and unfriendly, simply stating it was not her problem. Check in was an awful experience. We qued for almost an hour meaning we were almost late for a restaurant booking. Whilst queuing, there was a group of over 20 people in the lobby with no masks on and not in groups of 6. These rules were not enforced by staff members and made both me and my partner feel very vulnerable and uncomfortable. Overall, lovely hotel and would recommend again. Staff perhaps need more training on customer experience and need to make sure that everyone in the hotel is following government guidelines on masks and rules of 6.

It’s difficult to plan or book anything during this pandemic year, but this weekend booking was a last-minute birthday treat. The website was clear that not everything would be the same as usual - the restaurants were closed, there was no hot buffet breakfast, the pool and the spa were not open. But for our family weekend, it was the things they DID offer which made the weekend special. The best part of the hotel experience for us was the staff. They couldn’t do enough to make us feel special and looked after. Jessica, Kieraonne and Elena were amazing! Honestly, I would come again just for them! We had a fantastic dinner in the bar on the first night as part of our package, and even though they were rushed off their feet, the service was fantastic and we were made to feel special. We then booked a private screening room for a family movie night afterwards - what a simple but lovely touch! The breakfast packs delivered to our room were perfect, with hot rolls and hot drinks available downstairs. The only downside for us was that, although the pool facilities were opened this week, there was no booking system and the spa/pool was too busy every time we tried to go. So we felt we missed out on that aspect. Maybe a restricted booking system would have been better? Great location - 10mins taxi ride from London Bridge, 25 min walk into Covent Garden, right across the river from The Tate. And, of course, right next to St Paul’s which is a magnificent landmark. Would like to be able to revisit when things are back to normal and the hotel is fully operational, especially with the new rooftop restaurant.
