City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

We returned after many fantastic stays at The Grange but we were so disappointed now it is Leonardo Royal. Bedrooms dated, showers terrible, bed linen didn’t fit the bed.... I could keep going but won’t. One person I would like to mention was the breakfast restaurant manager. He was fantastic and went above and beyond to accommodate us with our disabled daughter.

A good hotel, used to stay here a lot when it was part of the Grange group. Continued high service levels and comfort marred only by groups of rowdy guests in the middle of the night and a lack of hot water in the bathroom at times. The swimming pool was more like a 'couples make-out' area, and not much use if you want to swim lengths and not suitable for children

Very good for business as I was near my conference venue. The staff made me feel comfortable. I liked being treated like a person and not luggage. Smiles were more than welcome. Thanks for the ease in booking this accommodation and for allowing me to pre-pay the bill.

This was previously the Grange as St. Paul's. I was unaware of the change in management. Disappointed with "new" management of hotel, although nice to have breakfast included.. For my needs it is the location that would have me come back to this hotel.

Nice hotel, great location, lovely rooms, comfortable beds. Our only issue was that the safe in the room locked and would not reopen and despite three requests to reset and a promise each time to send someone no one arrived to repair it. One gentlemen arrived to open it but he could not reset it and we never saw the promised maintenance man despite getting up early to be ready for arrival at 9am. Never arrived, no explanation or apology and nowhere to leave our passports or iPads so we had to carry them around all day for three days. We were disappointed as we are not demanding guests and we liked the hotel and other staff who were helpful and efficient. Don’t promise to do something and not follow up would be my plea. We would have come back without a thought but for that issue.
