Hotel was impressive to look at with a huge atrium giving great central light. We were in their studio around the corner which was comfortable and well appointed but very dark - you needed to go out. May have been a nuisance if raining as it was a minutes walk from the hotel. Surrounding area had some atmosphere however -... More

The rooms are modern, clean and very stylish with mood lighting in the bedroom and bathroom (we had an executive room). The staff here are amazingly friendly and very accommodating. We loved the location, situated so close to the centre of the city and close to st Pauls cathedral, the Tate modern and the tube station is only a short... More

Each time I visit London I stay at this fabulous hotel. We had a beautiful room with a fantastic view of St Pauls. Complimentary Fresh fruit and bottle of water awaited us for my husbands birthday The staff are always professional and very friendly. I cannot fault this hotel in any way The hotel is in an ideal location for... More

1- Location: Perfect 2- Staff: Friendly , but not really experienced 3- Cleanliness: Fair "much lower than expected", housekeeping service "just to maintain minimum possible" 4- Furniture of rooms: Old " beds sheets teared, one of the two beds in our room was with broken leg" 5- Food : good "we ordered dine in-room only" Not really five stars "maximum... We just stayed one night here on our way to Gatwick airport and it was very pleasant. The staff were lovely and the room was excellent. Only small things that stopped me giving this 5 stars: the shower was great but leaked A LOT, breakfast was £23 each on top of the £260 room charge. We simply went to one... More

Very stylish modern hotel. It was expensive, there's no getting away from that, but clean and contemporary. There was a good range in the mini bar and nice toiletries in the bathroom. If you're wondering why your face gets warmer when standing by the basin it's coming from the mirror, it's gets quite hot! The room I was in had... More

The hotel was nice, the lounge was beautiful but for a five star, it has some problems. These are quite minimal atleast to some. There was an outside area where you can have a drink between two of the buildings, generally it was pretty filthy, the tables werent cleared. Some of the staff were a little on the unfriendly side... I have stayed at this hotel three times in the last 12 months. Main reason, location! Pending your reasons for staying in London, this hotel provides a great location for sightseeing around St Pauls, a short walk to the Millennium Bridge to explore further, shopping and great restaurants e.g Happenstance and Café Rouge. The shopping is also not bad especially... More

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel and I would definitely return for a 3rd visit. The location is excellent being so near Blackfriars Station, meaning you can get across London easily. On booking we asked for a room with a view of St Paul's Cathedral and although they can not guarantee this, they did give us a room... More

Usually stay at least one week end a year here. Still really like the place and enjoy the surrounding area but breakfast really does seem to get more cramped every year. Still like bar and general environment and staff were all friendly but not our nest stay.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
