This is a nice hotel with a great location but it is definitely not 5 star hotel standard. I was in London for a business meeting so brought my girlfriend with me to make a weekend of it. At check-in we got "upgraded" to a twin room at which point we said we'd prefer the double room we had booked.... More

The hotel is modern and large has two lifts operating to all floors. Outside seating area under glass canopy for meals and coffee was pleasant and well furnished. Our room on the 4th floor was spacious clean and modern, with fridge ,trouser press, ironing board and tea making facilities. Built within the City of London boundaries and in the shadow... More

A really great hotel. Superbly situated if you want to explore St Paul's, Tower of London, The Shard, Sky Garden, The Great Fire Monument and The Globe Theatre and much more in that area. You can walk along the river down to the Savoy (about 45/55 mins) or jump on the tube. The breakfast was very good. Continental or Full... More

Stayed here with two friends, the hotel staff were all lovely and friendly and very helpful, the room we had, had two queen size beds and a slight view of St. Paul's, I do think that bottles of water should be in the room for 5 star and it was a bit lacking in space but not to much of... More

Personally i think the price of the hotel for 2 nights was very reasonable, especially given how nice and clean the hotel was. Staff were friendly (bar one but not enough to mention in detail). The location is perfect, there's some nice walk to Buckingham palace etc. But only a short walk away from the tube station as well. We... More

A beautiful hotel, built with a contemporary feel but not lacking in comfort. The rooms are spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The reception desk were always willing to help and, Lena, who checked us in was extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. The room overlooked the spectacular atrium with its full glass views of all activity below. Breakfast was either continental... More

We arrived here to be greeted by the very regal and friendly doorman and were wowed by the look of the building! The event we arrived for had a prosecco arrival (average wine), I opted for OJ which was warm :-( Food wasn't as expected nor were cocktails which didn't pack any punch and to get them we had to... If the food quality was of better standard then this hotel would be perfect. Rooms and beds are very comfortable with many added extras free of charge. I booked a twin room and was delighted 2 have 2 very comfortable double beds. View not brilliant from my room as it was looking out onto another wall. Just outside the hotel... More

This is a poor quality hotel - the hotel looks great but fails to live up to expectations - great position and views - there is a lack of clean tidy washrooms - they were dirty and the hand dryer was out of order and only tissues to dry your hands - breakfast was poor and the food not very... This is the first time I've stayed here and it's a pretty soulless place. It seem to be popular for events and conferences so it's very busy and you feel like one of many minions. It's not cheap either and isn't 5* quality. Breakfast was poor too. Very sloppy and weak scrambled eggs. Positive was a comfy bed. Not impressed... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
