Overlooking a quiet garden square in the heart of Mayfair and the West End, The Beaumont embodies the spirit of the grand hotels of the 1920s – yet on an intimate scale, with just 50 rooms and 22 suites and studios, including Sir Antony Gormley’s ROOM, an inhabitable work of public art, and the Roosevelt Suite. The hotel’s sleek Art Deco interiors have been recently refreshed by superstar designer Thierry Despont: the iconic Magritte Bar serves classic cocktails and stylish snacks, while the new Gatsby's Room provides the ideal setting for afternoon tea or evening drinks. At the core of The Beaumont is the Colony Grill, a starry, sophisticated New York-style restaurant with a timeless menu of transatlantic favourites, and a big helping of old-world glamour. For fans of al fresco dining, meanwhile, the brand-new Terrace brings café culture to Brown Hart Gardens. The Lotos Room is a private-dining room seating up to 60. The elegant spa, with its spacious gymnasium, offers a wide range of relaxing and regenerative treatments. Since opening in 2014, this privately owned and independently run five-star hotel has established an enviable reputation for its thoughtful, friendly service and beautifully appointed accommodation, winning many accolades, including the 2020 Condé Nast Traveller Gold List editors’ favourite hotels in the world.

Our recent stay at The Beaumont was incredible. As Americans traveling abroad, we were looking for an accommodation that would be comfortable and situated in a great location. What we ended up experiencing was much more than that. The staff at The Beaumont take great pride in their work, and regard The Beaumont with the highest respect. They take the time to show you to your room, learn your name, and help in any way that they can with your travels and sightseeing. We had the chance to be driven to many locations in London from their friendly chauffeur, who gave us explanations to the buildings and history around us. This added ease to our travels while truly embedding us into London culture. The accommodations at The Beaumont are phenomenal. The rooms were spotless and housekeeping services added many touches to the room to make it even more luxurious and comfortable, including a bed "turn down," a glass and bottle of water at nighttime, and freshly made sheets. We dined in Gatsby's Room, the dining room of The Beaumont, multiple times throughout our stay. The food was phenomenal, as well as the full afternoon tea experience. We highly suggest afternoon tea at The Beaumont-- the atmosphere was classy and traditional, which was exactly what we were looking for. After our experience at The Beaumont, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in London. We thank The Beaumont for making our accommodation experience exceptional.

Hotel's Favorite
I have meant to review this hotel since our stay in June. My family, which includes three teens, only stayed for one night in June before traveling to Italy. Our flight from the states was delayed several hours, so we arrived very late in the evening. We were thrilled that when we arrived we were able to order dinner and nothing was too much trouble. I have celiac, and even at midnight they arranged to make gluten free food! Breakfast was delicious, too. The rooms were impeccably clean and modern, and the bed is one of the best we've slept on. Everyone here was friendly and simply outstanding, from the front desk to the drivers, and we were sad that we hadn't booked a longer stay. My sister and parents are visiting London in November and I won't let them book anywhere else! We look forward to our return next year.

I've been to London many times and have stayed at over 10 hotels, mostly 5-star hotels in various areas as I'm still searching for THE hotel to go back to. The Beaumont was exceptional and near perfect, except for 1 issue which is a personal preference and deal breaker for me. Otherwise, it would definitely be the hotel I'd go back to every time. We stayed in the Superior Room and we happened to be there during my husband's birthday as well. Upon check-in, the porter was helpful and efficient, the check-in staff were very friendly and helpful. We even got a tour of the hotel grounds before heading to the room. Every morning, the staff would greet us with a smile, including the porter. They even remembered our names. Room - For Mayfair area, I think it is a decent size. The bed and firm pillows were super comfy (not like those soft pillows you get almost everywhere in Europe which is impossible to get a good sleep). The decor was luxurious yet with modern features. Nespresso machine and capsules, kettle for tea, the usual were all provided. Housekeeping was almost impeccable, including the turndown service. Bottled water was always refilled and they provide a chocolate bar everyday (yum). On my husband's birthday, they even remembered and provided a cake in the room which was a surprise when we got back from (a disappointing) dinner. It lifted our moods immediately with their thoughtfulness. The cake, even though complimentary, was DELICIOUS. So much effort was put in to keep up the standards. Bathroom - This is important to me. I love love the bathroom decor and how luxurious it looked & felt. The shower area was a decent size and shower pressure was very good. Vanity counter and sink were great too. BUT the dealbreaker was also here - the amenities. While it was very fancy, and I read that it was to support the environment, SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER and BATH BARS do NOT cut it for me (and I would think for most ladies). I need my liquid soaps, period. I tried to adjust and used them for 2 days and gave up. I eventually went to buy my own liquid soaps from a drugstore for my remaining stay. I think practicality is more important in this case of having a comfortable shower, especially after a long day. Not minutes spent lathering a soap bar to get enough for a clean shower. This was the one and only thing preventing me from coming back to this hotel. It doesn't make sense for me to pay so much and have to purchase/bring my own shower amenities to the hotel. Le Magritte Bar - This American bar was highly recommended by staff and we dropped by for an afternoon rest and wasn't disappointed. The drinks were delicious and although Whiskey Sour wasn't on the menu, they were able to do it for me because any decent bartender can do the classics well. We ordered snacks like the Corn Dog and it blew my mind, the best I had. Portions were pretty large too. I'd recommend anyone to drop by the bar if they're staying in the hotel. Service - as mentioned, everyone was professional, helpful and friendly. No-one was grumpy and that's important. We requested for them to get a cab for us to the airport on our check-out day and they did it all for us. Everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to try out the other facilities like the gym in the hotel but overall, it was a near perfect stay for me. If you're not fussy about bar shampoos and soaps, then I'd highly recommend anyone to stay here in London.

Dear Livefreeange, Thank you wholeheartedly for your very detailed and much valued review! it is only by hearing such detailed feedback that we fully understand our guests and what they like or may not like. We always strive to always make our guests feel welcomed and at home here at The Beaumont so I am very pleased to hear that you found all of our Team professional, helpful and friendly. I am also happy to hear that you enjoyed the décor of the hotel, the comfort of your room and the little surprise for your husband's birthday as well as drinks in Le Magritte Bar. However, I am very sorry to hear that you did not like the shampoo and bath bars. It is a shame that you did not let our Front Desk or Housekeeping know as we do have liquid amenities available for those who do prefer them. I am sorry to learn that you ended up purchasing your own products to use during the remainder of your stay. I do hope that this will not deter you from returning to the Beaumont. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to The Beaumont. With my best wishes, Duncan

I am in London for business at least several times every year, and have throughout the years stayed in numerous hotels, and yet have never experianced the exceptional standard of service, accomadation and being in the best locale in the city , as the Beaumont. The meticulous art deco decor throughout the lobby and including the rooms and the dutiful service by all the staff, transports you to the Mayfair of Noel Coward, one of ambience and pride that exibits my every stay. The bar, the restaurants and all the amenities are truly faultless , nothing missed and attention to service and knowing their customers is extraordinary. Thomas the manager , and all the staff greet you as you arrive and during the whole stay , as if you are their most important guest and make it a requisite that they know your name. The Beaumont is one of the most exemplary hotels in bounteous of choices in London and am threfore, delighted I may write this review on this website..

We loved this classy and comfortable hotel. They saw to EXCEEDING our every need. When the weather was warm they handed us extra water in a cooler as we started our day. When we couldn't decide on a pastry from the menu they brought them all out for our inspection (they were all out of this world delicious!). They left an abundance of complimentary fruit and treats in the rooms. Twice we asked the bell stand for directions. Both times (two different men) they actually walked us to our destination. I have never experienced such gracious and attentive service at a hotel. Each staff member knew us and we knew them by name. I loved this hotel!

I have stayed at various five star London hotels and my recent stay at the Beaumont was the best. From the moment you enter the hotel lobby you feel their hospitality. Isabella at reception was kind enough to arrange an early check-in and cheerfully answered all of my questions since I had not been at the hotel before. The hotel decor invokes the style of pre-war England--I didn't see a detail that wasn't "just right". While I just reserved their basic room, it was well appointed with a spacious bathroom and upscale linens. The complimentary beverages and snacks were an added treat as was the pastry basket provided each morning (one of the best cinnamon rolls you will ever have!). A special callout for Angel, who is a brand ambassador. He absolutely went above and beyond in helping me with a currency issue without me asking and it saved me considerable time waiting at a bank--first class service. I look forward to my next stay at the Beaumont--it feels as if going back to see friends.

The Afternoon Tea in the Gatsby Room far exceeded our expectations. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. This is a definite "must experience" if you are visiting London. The tea experience is explained when you sit down - tea, sandwiches and pastries are served in courses. There is also the option for tea cocktails and champagne. Everything we tried was superb. We will definitely visit again. Plan for 90-120 mins and come hungry!
