We were in the building around the corner although the area leaves a little to be desired the room was fresh, clean and large. Flat screen tv was a bonus and breakfast was fine. The service was great and friendly. I recommend to anyone

The hotel is nice and cozy, and is conveniently located near a bus stop. The buss will take you to the area around Stratford Subway station in about 5 minutes. There you find quite a few shops and restaurants. If you want to go to the city centre, there are several options by bus or subway, but they all take a bit of time. There is also a 24 hour bus service to Oxford Circus. We were in London for two nights, and the travel time to the city centre effectively limited us to one trip each day.

The staff is helpful, and will let you in and get you your key 24 hours. Our room was nice and clean with a good amount of space, and our bathroom was modern and practical, but there were no WiFi or other internet connection in our room (and we were one of the rooms closest to the lounge).

The included breakfast was good, but the restaurant was too small, so expect to wait in line for a while. We passed the waiting on the WiFi in the lounge.

The hotel is very far from the city center and it is located in a ethnic area, the area is not safe at all and the reception warned me not to be out until late ! I definitely did not feel safe at all. The staff is very rude, I asked for a help and he said : I am busy !! and he never got back to me to help me with broken room door !
Breakfast is served in a very dirty spot ! It was the worst experience
room floor was very dirty, bed sheets were not washed !

Stayed here because company booked us in here, stayed here for 4 nights over a 3 week period. The job was literally a 5minute walk away that's why I put up with it. Suppose to be 3 star but that is debatable. Didn't take any valuables after our first stay due to thinking its not safe in rooms that are outside main building.
I set off at 4am to get to London so go bed early at night but you have loads of workmen drinking and smoking and talking loud, right outside your room, I stayed in room no16 twice, also metal stairs that get bounced up and down till midnight and from 6am. In the morning got woke up to a motorbike that had parked right outside my door, sounded like it was in my room!!!
I said to my work mate, if I booked my wife in this hotel she would of divorced me lol
Not sure how much per night but I suspect you get what you pay for.
Lastly, on my last night there woke up with bites on my body from God no's what.
Hope my honest review helps somebody

Three of us stayed at the Forestview during a recent tradeshow at EXCEL and were seduced by the (for London) relatively cheap price - and ended up paying a other ways. It is located in what seems a really rough area of East London. It isn't that convenient for EXCEL, there are no restaurants close by and you definitly wouldn't want to be out on the street by yourself at night. If your idea of a good hotel is to have an environmental health officer in your room at 1.30 in the morning to asses the noise from next door's night club then this is place for you. Two nights running unbelievable noise came from next door and only when complaining the second night at 11.30pm an alternative room was offered. The fact that one of my colleagues was locked into her bathroom for 30 minutes because the lock fell of the door (and despite promises from the hotel it did not get fixed throughout our stay) seemed like a minor issue by comparison. Otherwise it was slightly worn around the edges but clean with a very uninspiring breakfast.

Our room was small but the bed was enormous. There was no free space in the room and the door couldn't be fully opened because of the wardrobe. There were stains on the sheet and the pillows. We had to share the bathroom with other people. They offer full English breakfast which was really bad - beans from a can, shrivelled sausage and a piece of greasy bacon. We had breakfast at the hotel just ones. Hopefully there were supermarkets and bakeries around. There was no wifi in the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I have to agree with a lot of the other comments. The staff here are very rude and unwelcoming. The area is not the greatest so a warm welcome and decent attitude from the staff would work wonders. The man in charge comes across as obnoxious and unpleasant and is seems very unhelpful and unaccommodating. The beds are actually nice and comfy, but there is no room servicing or cold running water. Plus, there is left over rotting food in the fridge from previous visitors. The hotel is dirty and smelly and has more of a run down youth hostel feel to it. The poor turtles in the "dining area" tank look as fed up as I felt with the dire breakfast service encountered. The food is terrible and whilst the bar prices are reasonably fair considering the location, the drinks are warm, flat and the glasses are dirty. A lot of these issues could've been forgotten about if it wasn't for the fact that the manager has an unacceptable self righteous attitude to his customers. It's almost as if you feel bad for staying there, and that you are causing him extra work for the inconvenience of choosing to stay at his hotel. The room I stayed in was dirty and I could hear every single noise from the customers next door, and the noise from outside (I understand this cannot really be helped). This "hotel" is not the worst, and considering certain locational attributes and circumstances it could be acceptable, but unfortunately the managers distasteful attitude could well be the reason for so many recent bad experiences at the hotel.

We stayed at the Forest View for 3 nights and were very happy with all aspects of this hotel. It offers budget accommodation but, having stayed previously at similar hotels in London, we were very impressed by standards of cleanliness and details such as the provision of shampoo/soap and daily change of towels. The bed was very comfortable and bathrooms (we had shared facilities) & shower clean and well appointed. Plenty of hot water, too. Breakfast is served in a nice downstairs room, offering a good choice and quality (lovely bacon!). White bread only but that is to be expected, I suppose. Stratford is a good location well served by transport links. There is a bus stop outside the hotel with a very regular service that takes you quickly to the station. We came back each night quite late and had no problems. The main road is quite noisy but we slept pretty well anyway. Staff are friendly and always available. I would definitely stay again at the Forest View and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodation in London. There are many places charging more that don't have the same standards of cleanliness and comfort.
