I had stayed at the Apex fairly regularly in late 2011 and early 2012 – and was heading back for a couple of days of meetings in London for the first time in around 5 months. I arrived in London on the early flight and thought I would pop by the hotel in a taxi en route to the office...

This hotel is only five minutes walk from Tower Bridge, St. Katherine's Dock and The Tower of London. You have to make use of the Underground for other sites further afield. No great hassle. The staff were extremely helpful and amenable. The restaurant in the hotel is very pleasant and a has reasonable menu. The hotel is also very handy...

We loved this hotel. It offered all the modern amenities for an affordable rate. The rooms were big and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, even checking us in earlier than the check-in time. Their restaurant is great for breakfast every morning. The location is great, the surrounding areas safe and quiet. It's also conveniently in walking distance from the tube,...

My wife and I stayed here in August during the very hot weekend. We were upgraded from a superior to deluxe room which was clean, large and well appointed with Bose DVD equipment and a decent telly (couldn't get Sky Sports as promised tho, which was a minor disappointment). The air-con worked well despite the heat and the bed was...

Booked two King rooms on Friday 10th August at a discounted £98 each following a trip to watch the athletics. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous - we asked if one room could be made into a twin and this was done without quibble. Both rooms were spacious, clean and with large bathrooms. Excellent value in London.

Great hotel in a convenient location on a charming side street in the historic financial district. Apex often offers terrific discounts on weekends since the financial district empties out after 5 on Fridays. Rooms are quiet, spacious and comfortable with pleasant contemporary decor; the bathrooms are roomy and spotless with huge shower stalls. The staff are friendly and efficient. The...

We booked this Hotel for the Olympics as the situation was excellent and the price was a good offer. Right next to the Tower of London, close to Underground station and DLR. First, let me tell you the good things about this hotel: great location, exceptional cleanliness in rooms, top sound system and friendly staff. Now the not so good: on my July visit I had a complaint, I was ignored by the Restaurant Manager and kept waiting in a quiet breakfast service for seven minutes whilst he discussed his night out...

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
