When we checked in to Melville hotel we were told our room was on the second floor. Absolutely no gesture to help with our bags was made. Upon entering the room it became apparent that a thorough clean had not taken place, there was dirt behind the fan, hairs in the bed and the

Despite having my booking.com confirmation email, it took the reception staff more than 5 minutes to find any evidence of my booking, which isn't a great sign of a well-run hotel. The room was small but functional, but with some strange wall art! It was quite noisy - could hear

This hotel is absolutely nothing like the photos we saw on booking.com. When we came into the room, the smell was unreal. The rooms are FREEZING and so dated. The beds are not comfy at all. We had a plug socket that had clearly blown but they haven’t done anything about it, the

Thank you Jaymee for staying with us and for taking the time to write a review. All feedback is important to us, as it helps us continue to monitor and improve our services to all our guests. We are disappointed that we fell short of expectations on this occasion. The vast majority of our guests are happy with the beds and mattresses we provide. We realise that people's preferences for beds and mattresses are varied, and we are sorry that our beds are not to your personal taste. We are not a "bed & breakfast" hotel, and we do not claim to be one. We have found over the years that our guests prefer to avail themselves to the huge array of eateries to suit all pockets, at 3 to 4 minutes' walking distance from the Hotel. This helps us keep our prices at a very competitive level. We hope you will give us the opportunity of welcoming you back to our Hotel soon (but we would not allow you to bring your dog, as we do not accept animals within the Hotel). Book directly with us to receive better terms and conditions, including the Best Available Rate and a free upgrade to rooms subject to availability. Kind regards. Manager, Guest Relations

I am just about to go for my breakfast after almost no sleep. But how did I get here you ask? Well, it started like this... I decided to stay at the Melville due to its proximity to the train stations. This is about the only box it ticked. The room was so small that once I put

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write a review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the location of our Hotel. It is, as you know, a 5-minute walk from Kings Cross St Pancras International, the London Underground, a huge network of bus routes, a large taxi rank, and a whole host of eateries to suit every pocket. All our room sizes are clearly displayed on our website. The size of room depends on the classification of room you have booked. The majority of our rooms have features which are appreciated by our guests, but we are sorry to hear that it is not to your personal taste. We are glad that you found the bed to be comfortable. We have asked our Housekeeping Manager to double check the tucking in of the bed linen. We are located in a quiet square. just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of central London. The "park" you refer to is a public place which we have no control over. It is kept locked at night by the Council, but occasionally people do enter it. We do hope you will give us an opportunity to welcome you back to our Hotel. Book directly with us and receive better terms and conditions, including the Best Available Rate and a free upgrade to rooms subject to availability. Kind regards. Manager, Guest Relations

Correct. No breakfast. You can drop your bags there if you arrive before your room is ready. Easy walk from Kings Cross/St Pancras stations. There are a multitude of places to eat in the area.

There is 24 hour cover on the reception desk so shouldn't be a problem.

How close to the tube?
If you're talking about the Hotel Melville in Central London near KIng's Cross and St Pancras stations, it's a very small hotel and I doubt if they have the space, but I could be wrong - best to email them about it.
