Hostel is 5 mins to Kings Cross - that's perfect. It is hostel - you cannot wait five star hotel luxury. But the room was clean, as well the towels and bathroom. I think that If you want to only sleep in the room, not to spend long day in here, it is perfect.

The room was dirty... The bed was broken... The noise was terrible (with the train each 2 minutes and with other guests)... ONLY there was one toilet in the hostel. BUT the hostel is close to the city center.

The price you truly pay for a night here isn't in cash, it's rather a matter of endurance. Yes, it's one of the cheapest places in Central London. If you put together 1+1 you ought to figure out that there will be downsides to that. Here are some thoughts from during our stay: "Am I dirtier than the shower yet?"... More

the decor is as shabby as others have said but staff have definitely tried to do what they can -the room had definitely been cleaned, and there were tea and coffee making facilities and a tv which worked. If you need a cheap room in London, it does tick the box, and the staff are doing their best with the... More

We needed to stay in London o e night near kingscross station as a family of four, but all the alternative hotels were full or beyond any sensible budget. Up Popped this hotel on booking.com. only place left... We arrived and thought we were at bates motel, you know what we mean. Was this a mistake. We bit the bullet... More

Only stayed here for one night but that was enough. We stayed on the third floor. The double room was clean enough but it was absolutely boiling with the heating turned on in APRIL. There were also holes in the floor boards which were covered up with carpet! The shared bathrooms were really dirty and looked liked they hadn't been... More

Though it is a small hotel, the hotel needs much work. The difference in cost is immediate as it is about 150GBP cheaper. The bathroom is shared in the hotel, the rooms are small (extremely hot in the summer), staff is friendly, & road and train noises are loud. It is relatively close to St Pancreas station. Look at pictures... More

Small room with a weird set-up (bunk beds--queen size on the bottom & twin on the top). Beds were not comfortable & creaked with even the smallest movements. Bathrooms had visible mold & were inconveniently located outside of rooms. Generally dirty and overpriced. Female evening staff member was very friendly & attentive, but overall service was lacking. Upside -- good... More

In my opinion the hotel is a rip off, even though it is prime location. The bed wasn't too bad but the room was grotty. I'd not use the hotel again if I get the option, especially when there are hostels much cheaper and much cleaner.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
