The Jesmond Hotel is in Bloomsbury, near the British Museum - a great central London location. The room was tiny - just a bit bigger than a railway carriage - but everything worked and it had things like cotton sheets and windows that opened, and a modern clean bathroom (also tiny). There's a garden at the back. The service was... More

We were welcomed by our friendly, helpful host who carried our cases upstairs for us. Our room was spotlessly clean and everything well maintained. Quite big enough for a couple. Breakfast was good and again friendly ladies serving who were eager to please. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and can recommend the Jesmond for anyone... More

What a gem of a find in London the Jesmond Hotel is! Though, I would probably call it more a bed and breakfast than a hotel because of the intimate size . We arrived quite early after a night flight in from Nairobi. It was very refreshing to have our host greet us with a cheerful face and get us... More

We stayed for four nights. The room was large, the en-suite facilities were fine, and the breakfast was extremely generous. Gower Street itself is quite busy, from early morning to late in the evening, so don't expect quiet in a room facing the street! But even so, the location is excellent, within walking distance to intercity train stations. There are... More

Friendly host, well maintained rooms, clean and tidy atmosphere, though small rooms but comfortable bed and temperature, USB-power sockets, speedy internet, tasty cooked to order English breakfast with plenty of cereal, fresh fruit and juices, good shower etc. overall nice B&B. Excellent location, near two tube-stations, buses run right past the front door, Tesco is on short walk, number of... More

I stayed for one night in a single en-suite room at the Jesmond Hotel. Everything was excellent. The hotel is clean, tidy, well maintained with lovely staff. My bed was comfortable, the room quiet and a good temperature. I particularly liked the USB points on the sockets. The bathroom was immaculate and the shower hot and powerful. Breakfast was tasty,... Perfectly situated, close to BM, tube, buses, Oxford Street. Friendly, helpful hosts, excellent breakfast, we felt really good. Very tiny room, but ok for just sleeping. Quite noisy because of the traffic on Gower Street. But after walking all the day, we slept quite well. A wonderful stay, we would be pleased to return to the hotel.

We often stay on Gower St. because of the great location. This hotel did not disappoint. The hosts were friendly, helpful, informative. We stayed in the ground floor triple room which was roomy with a great sized bathroom. Breakfast was filling with great servers. Internet worked well. Family run and definitely recommended!

This was our first stay at the Jesmond. We normally stay at another hotel just a few doors away, but they were full and they recommended checking out the Jesmond. And the recommendation was spot on. First the location just can’t be beat. There’s a bus stop right across the street as well as the Goodge Street Tube which you... More

I stayed for two nights for a local meeting. My room was compact but very clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. It was quiet with a lovely view of the back courtyard/garden. Breakfast was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole place has a warm, calm feel to it with great touches like fresh flowers dotted about.... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
