I've stayed at the Jesmond annually since 1995. I can't recommend it more highly. It's a great value as they offer a free night for every 7 nights you stay during November through February. The location is within walking distance of Oxford Street shopping and West End theaters and the Gower Street neighborhood, quiet, safe and scholarly, is near the...

Along Gower Street there is one hotel/B&B after the other. We chose the Jesmond and were very happy with our choice. The garden out back is a lovely place to relax. There are two tube stations within an easy walk and a bus stop practically across the street. Fill up on a great breakfast and head out for the day...

This was our third stay here and we hope to visit again- we love it here. The location is excellent- within walking distance of so many great areas- Camden, Oxford St/Regent St, Covent Garden, Piccadilly etc. V close to the British Museum and less than 10 minutes walk from Euston. Rooms are lovely and clean, breakfast is great and the...

We have stayed here for more than 30 years. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Great family operated hotel. Run with that "personal touch" -always helpful and are totally trustworthy. We have recommended the Jesmond to all our family and friends and they praise the hotel as well. You won't go wrong staying here- tell them John and Jean from the US...

The Jesmond made for a very pleasant and affordable stay in London. I was a solo traveler and stayed for 9 nights in Room 5, which faced Gower Street and had an en-suite bathroom. The room is small and difficult to move around, and the shower stall is pretty tight, but for travelers not looking for anything too fancy this...

I recently stayed here for 6 nights while on vacation. I had a single room, second floor, facing the street. yes, its noisy, but I was prepared with earplugs. it's a main street, so yes there will be traffic noise. But that was never an issue. The room was nice; I had a small single, with en-suite bath. It was...

I've stayed here before and it is good value (by London standards) for a B & B. Close to Goodge Street tube station and the Tottenham Road shops, cafes etc. I had a single room with a bathroom. Tiny tiny room - if you have a lot of luggage you would probably struggle here. They do warn you it's a...

We moved to this hotel/B&B from the Holiday Inn. It was a bit cheaper to stay here by about 10GBP. The location is decent with respect to tube entrances to choose from. Our room was on the ground floor facing the garden. It was very quiet. We were told that the best way to know when breakfast was being served...

A friend recommended the Jesmond based on a stay several years ago. It is still under the same ownership and did not disappoint. Rooms are small (they're not kidding) and clean, and since you likely won't be spending time there except to sleep, it's really more than adequate. Close to the British Museum and others, as well as to theaters...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
