Fantastic location near Buckingham Palace, but quiet and private. Rooms were large and comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The cafe on site was great, as was the restaurant at the hotel. Would certainly stay again.
Good ambiance, good hospitality, food needs to improve. Staff is very good, breakfast can be done better, very less options are there currently. Car pick up issue is there as once a big car comes, very difficult to take a turn.
The afternoon tea was amazing, the food was great. On top of that the staff were excellent and extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to have a good time and have good food in London.
The only reason I am writing this review is to highlight 2 staff members that made our stay worth it: Ankit (wait staff in the courtyard) and Tibor (porter). They were both fantastic and hugely attentive, consistently going above and beyond in their service. They are also both absolutely delightful individuals and a joy to chat with. They are the sole reason this establishment is getting 2 stars. Outside of their service, this hotel was a thorough disappointment. I have stayed in a range of hotels from 5 stars to hostels and this was by far the worst. Paying as much as you are, you expect polite and attentive staff, speedy service, and good quality food. Not only did we not get any of those things, we even had things go missing from our room. When we raised this with the reception they stated, in quite a rude tone, that we mustn't have checked the room properly and they would get housekeeping to have a look. When we returned 5-6 hours later, nothing had been done and housekeeping had not been made aware. Then we were blamed for not letting them know quick enough... an absolutely baffling response. The reception team, when asked a simple question, made us wait outside in the heat for 45 mins+ for an answer. They also refused to serve our 4 year olds food or even water in the afternoon because their restaurant was "too busy". When asking for bags to be collected from our room during check out, they took over an hour to send someone up, meanwhile the concierge continued harassing us to check out... which i'm not sure how they expected us to do without our bags. The basic amenities are also below par: the keys to the room stop working every day (sometimes multiple times a day), the scanner to enter the room also break or run out of battery regularly, The kettle was not only broken but also STANK, there is no service elevator so you end up waiting 15min+ for the lift (not a complaint if you're able-bodies and on the first or second floor but my mum has vertigo and we were on the 5th floor). We ran out of complimentary tea bags in our room and called to have more sent up on Monday, then again on Tuesday, then Wednesday... we finally got them after calling on Thursday. I have stayed in multiple Taj resorts around the world and this establishment is a stain to its reputation. It is obvious that the staff are not properly trained and then scapegoated when something goes wrong, so this review is specifically for the management. And for prospective customers, save yourself the money, you'd be better off in a Travelodge or Premier Inn.…
Overall it was very good experience we had, all over services & all staffs were well behaved and very helpful . But, one suggestion that, if the room sizes would be bigger then, the stay would be more comfortable. Thanks
Location - less than a 5min walk to Buckingham Palace, less than a 5min walk to tube station, hard to beat for a family's first trip to London Staff - they make the trip. I cannot speak highly enough of how helpful, before and during the trip they were. How nice they all were. How they tried to ensure our comfort throughout our entire trip Rooms - a little worn and older, but the hotel is historic. Having two bedrooms was huge and the water bottles left every day, coffee in the morning, and conveniences of the suite were fantastic. All in all, fantastic stay in a fanstastic city. We loved it!
Super hotel made more super by the staff who are superb would recommend always. The best review and statement is to say we will return to the TAJ 51 every time we visit London as we cannot see how to better the position and the hotel and the quality of care the staff take
If you wish to experience hospitality at its best , stay at Taj. It runs top down - from Shalini grover to her team mates , all is always happy to serve . They made my family trip memorable by arranging a world class sit down lunch for 15 of the family members of all age group in one table . To top it , they arranged a pre packed breakfast at the Hyde park , which felt local in a foreign company. The concierge is still in touch with me for my Parcels to be collected and this is the 7th time , we as a family visited this place . Must go .
Centrally located and legendary Taj service made this one of the most memorable stays. We travelled after 30-months post Covid19 for the first time and there's an unprecedented demand for hotel rooms and flights. Our flight landed early in the morning and yet we were graciously accommodated & given an early check-in. The room allocated by Mr. Joy Joby was incredible, spacious and perfectly met our requirements...thank you for making it memorable and also many thanks to Mathew for regularly inquiring about our stay, accommodating our requests and making us feel at home! We were so happy, we're already booked to be back there in 3 weeks!!!
I planned on proposing to my girlfriend at the hotel after a big day out. I had asked for a lot from the hotel staff to make it memorable and they played their part perfectly. I have stayed at some lovely hotels but have never been attended to as well as we did at the Taj. From the moment we entered we were made to feel like royalty and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the most amazing suite. I had requested the romantic turndown and have asked for this a few times before in other hotels but the standard in the Taj was way above anything I’ve had elsewhere. The rose petals around the bathtub was an amazing bonus that we didn’t even discover until the morning after. I had been planning the proposal for 6 months and was terrified that something would go wrong but with the staff at the Taj I needn’t have worried. Everything was perfect. And we really appreciated the bottle of Prosecco waiting for us also! The staff were incredible, I wish I had got their names but every single member of staff we came across was so helpful and welcoming and the morning after they came straight over to us to congratulate us.…
