We recently stayed here during a business trip to London. Rooms were nicely designed but a little tired in places. The restaurant was nice enough but nothing to shout about. Cocktails I personally thought were very pricey. I have worked in London for many, many years. I would not return here after experiencing it. Just not to my taste but nice enough.
It had been brought to my attention that over the past 3 years of me being a member of trip advisor o hadn’t done any positive reviews, only the handful of negative ones we’ve experienced so time to song the praises of some of our favourites. We’ve stayed at The Charlotte Street hotel a few times now, both for business and pleasure and If I could rate it higher than 5 then I most certainly would. From the minute you arrive you are looked after by the most wonderful team of staff who can’t do enough for you. The food is wonderful, the rooms are beautiful and the staff really do make this place what it is. Nothing is too much trouble. A true 5* establishment. Couldn’t recommend higher.
My daughter and I stayed here. The hotel has such a vibe with people visiting the restaurant all day and night. The hotel is also situated in a vibey area and a great position . The staff were amazing especially the concierge. There was nothing too big or small! Their recommendations were great. We usually stay at the sister hotel Ham Yard but this is much more reasonable and as convenient. Would definitely return!
Recently enjoyed a truly delightful stay at the Charlotte Street Hotel. Exceptionally comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, comfortable bedrooms and lounges, with beautiful decor and delicious food - but, for me, this hotel stands head and shoulders above the competition purely on account of the magnificent staff! Cheerful, friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful and exceptionally helpful, these persons simply cannot do enough for their guests. We thank them most warmly for all their outstanding care for us and for all our family members. Five stars are not enough!
I went there with friends on Friday and ordered a glass or Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand. The bill arrives and it turns out they gave me the Sauvignon Blanc, Sancerre. This is not the wine I ordered and a much more expensive wine. When I questioned the bill, they told me that they did have the wine I wanted but only in bottle form so they unilaterally made the decision to give me a glass of Sancerre. They should have made this known and clear to me when I was placing my order. There was not one apology - in fact they were all very defensive; and made me feel like I was the one in the wrong. I would not have minded this (coming to these places I am prepared to pay a premium) but the way the staff treated me was so bad I feel the need to write this review. I will never ever go back and do not recommend this place at all.…
Without doubt, this is the nicest Hotel I have stayed at. A beautiful boutique hotel with 5* service. The attention to detail is something I have not experienced elsewhere. Located in a lovely area surrounded by restaurants. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
This is a beautiful hotel. It has a much warmer and friendlier atmosphere than other London hotels I have used. Cannot fault any aspect of the facilities or the excellent staff. On a more mundane level you are walking distance from the main shopping streets, close to a tube station and yet located on what feels like a quiet village high street. Will use Charlotte St for all future theatre trips.
My wife and I fulfilled a long held wish to stay at this hotel which had come highly recommended. We got a very good Staycation deal and a room upgrade but all the rooms were interesting. Though the design touches are quirky and well placed, the biggest asset was the friendliness of the staff. The Hotel is obviously very popular as a business meeting place and the bar and restaurant can get crowded and noisy later on but staff were happy to set us up with a table in a seperate room for our meal. The bar cocktails are worth trying and the bar staff were friendly and funny. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location to anyone who wants Bloomsbury themed design but with reliable hotel staff care. Can't wait to go back again.
Already booked to return next year, we loved everything, the room, location, food quality were excellent. The only slight negative is the service in the bar and restaurant can be slow and hard to attract attention of a waiter but appreciate it was a busy weekend.
I spent a full week in London with treats planned for my 60+1 birthday which in itself was amazing and kicked off with a Hand tied bouquet course at the hotel, which in itself was fab, but we were staying in a small boutique BnB in the East End....so midweek when my birthday came and my partner booked a 3 hour private tour in the National Gallery it was a beautiful surprise to find whilst busy we had re-located to Junior Suite at the hotel....the whole experience was lovely and the staff were super helpful, and offered fantastic customer service. The room was beautifully appointed, lovely design, the bathroom was a fabulous, drinks fridge well stocked, excellent room service and the bed a dream. In a week with so many treats (The Opera/Afternoon Teas/ Treasure Hunt/ Sky garden/ A birthday Party/James Bond etc a lovely memory remains Breakfast in Bed watching the DVD of To Catch A Thief....Thankyou to the staff and all at the hotel who made me feel very special on this special occasion…
