Kids running from side to side all the time, shouting, noise, it's like being in a boarding house, or in a school, you have to pay for a towel, buy your shampoo, and the toilet mostly at night and tomorrow they are terrible. I do not recommend it.
bad noise isolation between rooms and younger guest making a lot of noise till late in the night, so i cant get some rest. bathroom close in my floor I have to look for another in other floors and I have to wait for a free shower long time.....
The place was wonderful, well located, staff super helpful and kind, wonderful services, cleaning was on top! Will definitely come back and will absolutely recommend this to my friends and family! I had a great stay
Dear people considering this hostel. I came here the first I noticed was a not so nice smell and not the prettiest latinas. The second thing I noticed was poo in my bed. The third thing I noticed was a green ceiling and no it was not paint. This was by far the worst stay I have ever had and believe me I stayed in ibis Amsterdam. I left this hostel with another look on my life. Never go here!!!! Er zit wel wat cake aan
As someone who has stayed at other Generator properties, I was appalled by this location. Pictures showed much larger rooms and cleaner facilities. I believe it is time to update pictures to reflect the current state of this location. Not only was there black mold in rooms but the pillows were as thin as a shirt. We booked a private 4 bed room, which should’ve had a desk (as advertised). It appears that they have turned private 2 bed rooms into accommodate 4. They have also closed majority of the bar area. (If you’re renovating, advertise that) On top of half of it being closed, they reserve for large groups so there are maybe 10 tables for the entire hostel to fend for. If you want a drink at the bar, note is standing room only with 12 year olds running around even at night. You’ll pay hotel rates for a dirty shoe box. Only good thing was the pizza and location.…
Terrible experience, left even before my stay was over for another place! Most of the staff was unprepared to deal with clients/public and the hostel itself is dirty and has rats!!!!! I stayed here for less than 24 hours, because the experience was just so unbearable for me that I had to leave! Long version: I paid £120 for two days for a 4 bedroom female dorm and, as soon as I got to my bedroom, there was someone sleeping on my bed. I had to go downstairs to ask to change bedrooms, and she sent me to a new one, where the girls were really nice, they told me that the bathrooms from our floor where closed and that I could only shower in the one in the basement. Then, one of them told us that she was followed by a man into the female bathroom downstairs… on that very same day. I had an interview and the music there was really loud, so I asked someone from the staff if there was any place quieter where I could do my interview for 30 min. It was nice enough to accommodate me in the more secluded room by the bar where the music wasn’t so loud! But for my surprise there were RATS there coming and going from the kitchen as they liked (vídeo attached). As soon as my interview began the MANAGER of the hotel popped right next to me and said: you have to get out, you can’t be here. I said: sorry, I’m a little bit busy here but I was authorized to sit here just for a few minutes. He then started doubting me and asking me the name of the person who has authorized me to sit down (this all while being extra rude, saying things such as “get out of here” and, obviously, while I was interviewing). As soon as my interview was over I went up to him to talk and still he was questioning my “rights” to be seated there and wanted me to name the person that authorized me. You would expect these people would have more empathy or be nicer to their guests, but unfortunately I think London is so packed all the time that places like this still gets people. Some people that stood out in my 18 hour stay were: Felipe from the kitchen, and Will and Oliver from the reception! They made me feel heard and welcomed in The Generator, thanks guys for trying your best. …
This hostel is good value if you want to spend at least 1-2 nights but not for longer because it's a fair ways from the city centre. If you are fine with this then it will suit you very well for a solo traveler
For a new experience without the luxury of hotels. Close to young people. To understand if you can live together without too many luxuries. Still remaining in central London in the heat. Still remaining in central London in the heat. you need a spirit of adventure
A colleague was attacked at night by an rpz trying to get into her bed. we were given breakfast tickets when we should have gone to the police and then i realised that the attacker was still in the room. I lost my remaining diaries and left. Should have stayed until 12/01/2023 and left 08/01/2023. It was not safe and I saw a lot of children there.
The Stay was to expansive for what you get. Restaurant is expansive too. No Kitchen available. Restrooms closed- had to run From 6th to 4th Floor to use a toilet or shower. Was in the basement before, the whole building is full of mold. They charge you for everything, oatmilk, earplugs, everything.
