Haven't stayed in a hostel in years and was apprehensive. We have three young kids and booked a private room. I was pleasantly surprised, the room was tight but had everything we needed. Crucially the place was spotless with excellent showers. Lobby was lively but welcoming of the kids and music at night never reached our room 😀. Best thing... More

The 4 person room was good, to bunk squeeked a bit. The lounge room near the main stairs is quite good with powerpoints to charge electronic devices everywhere and cushioned seats. Good spot near russell square with food and shops and access to public transport. Negatives: The rooms were not that clean with dust galore covering the floor and getting... More

I thought the Generator was a fantastic hostel. I booked a private room with ensuite and it was definitely worth the extra money spent. The room was cute, comfortable and quite a decent size. Being on the 5th floor was great as I was away from the hustle and bustle of the bar and other common areas, there was rarely... More

4/10 Total The Room: 2 person private with no ensuite Tiny. No air-conditioning. On arrival the room had still not been cleaned (we arrived 3hrs after check in). Small basin to brush your teeth. The double bed was reasonably comfortable This place is highly commercialised and they will make you feel like a child with their rules. Laundry is available... More

Spent one night here in a 12-bed dorm. The hostel is big, modern and very clean! Staff was very helpful too. Only thing i missed was more electricity outlets in the dorm. Also would have been good with a small bedside lamp for each of the beds, as it is a bit of a challenge with just one roof-lamp when... More

Considering the price, we did expect a slight drop in standard, services, but not the dramatic fall that that was shown, when we checked in. Poor customer services skills from the lady on the front, including no help, or directions to find our room, for the price it was an extremely small room, widows didn't open all the way, no... More

As a couple, this is a different experience for us. Walking into bunk beds in a tiny room with no air conditioning, was a bit of a shock at first. Aswell as having to walk 500m to our shared showers and toilets. Although the staff are accommodating, the atmosphere downstairs is really chill and welcoming. They offer amazing food and... More

A but bigger than a regular hostel i suspect travel agents book it a lot as there were a few families in. Front desk was helpful and thw rooms were comfortable, but a bit hot. Bar downstairs is open til 3am and pretty cheap. Breakfast is alright, but a touch pricey.

Hey Stuart K, Thanks for your feedback, it has been a bit hot this past week in London. We have fans we can place in the rooms if needed, hopefully our reception team was able to help with this. Your thoughts have been shared with our team to reflect on. Best wishes, Generator London. More

Sleeping quality is not top, but for the rest it is a clean and modern hostel, with a lot of comforts that other hostels do not really have. Rooms are mixed and i would have placed more shared bathrooms, but they clean them very often.

Hi instant_traveller, We are pleased to read that for the most part you were comfortable and found the bathrooms clean. We also have some 2 or 6 person rooms with private bathrooms which may suit some guests better. Best wishes, Generator London. More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
