Positives: Three good things were: 1.Staff who were quite friendly and helpful. 2.A possibility to keep the luggage there after the check out. 3. Very good location. And breakfasts. Negatives: 1. The hostel doesn't have a common area, where you can stay, relax or chill out and spend time with other guests. There's a pub downstairs which is a reception as well and I think it is supposed to be that kind of thing, but it's absolutely uncomfortable and inconvenient for such purpose. 2. The room I stayed in was absolutely comfortless, stuffy and cramped: beds were outdated, no personal sockets (but they claim each bed is equipped with a socket), no shelves, chests of drawers or coat racks or whatever suitable for storing outer clothing. There were 10 beds and can you imagine what a mess there was with people, their belongings, clothes and etc spread all around the room? Moreover, there weren't any chairs, tables or anything where you can sit, read, write... and don't forget, there's no common area in a hostel! 3. Bathrooms and toilets. Again the same story as with a room: too cramped, no shelves where you can put your shampoo, clothes. And they were messy and untidy with wet mats, Actually it was completely unpleasant to have a shower or use the toilet. 4. No kitchen. No place where you can eat or drink except the pub or your bed which is not convenient. To sum up, probably 10 years ago that hostel was cool and modern, but nowadays it looks really outdated. I'm experienced and sophisticated traveller and have stayed in a bunch of hostels all over the world, I know that for some countries and cities to have that kind of a hostel is more or less okay, but not for London. The hostel definitely needs reconstruction to make it more suitable for travellers and helping guests to socialise.…
My room was really hot, and right above the street so it was (unavoidably) noisy. This place gets mega points for including oatmilk in the free breakfast, that is something I have never seen at hostels and I really appreciate it 🤤
This was our first time to stay in a hostel. We shared the room with 10 other people. There were three toilets and two showers we all shared. The pub was directly downstairs. The pub was very popular with many locals frequenting the pub for drinks or just food.
:) It's nice that they give breakfast in the accommodation price. Buss stations and underground station near the hostel. Distance to London Eye is very short. :( They must clean the room frequently because it's a lot of dust; a vacuum cleaner used after every check out it will make this hostel very nice:). They must to something with the windows:it's a lot of noise as they seem open:(. If they can't change "the face of the building", they can find a solution and improve the inside of the windows.
Awesum to have our last meal in this pub. The meal was fast.. the drinks were cheap.. and the hospitality was welcoming! Wish we came here last night for our dinner. Definatley a must for travellers. 😊
