This is our third time staying at the Morton hotel. The reception, Aytul, is helpful & friendly. We booked the apartment room and it was spacious. The location is convenient and nearby the tube and many stores. Looking forward to staying there again for sure.

Hotel's Favorite
Being right next to Russell Square and with a tube station on the doorstep this hotel is in a great location and was surprisingly quiet given the amount of traffic regularly passing by. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, professional and informative and any requests were swiftly and satisfactorily fulfilled. The room was well appointed, the bed was so comfortable with very fluffy pillows and good linen. The bathroom was large with a good shower and plenty of toileteries, large, soft towels and comfortable dressing gowns and slippers. The clincher was the cleanliness - the place was spotless and would have brought a smile to the face of the harshest contestant on 'Four in a Bed'. Not a speck of dust anywhere. We were also able to leave our cases behind on checkout day while we did a bit more exploring in the local area.

This was my first trip to London and The Morton Hotel hit the spot for what I was looking for in a London experience. It was quaint, cozy, clean and super friendly! I have never met a hotel employee like Aytul before! She was charming, funny, helpful, and added to our delightful stay! She was so customer experience driven. We fell in love with her! At the end of our stay we gave her a bouquet of flowers to express our gratitude to her! The hotel only has 56 rooms and is very secure. I felt safe there. The rooms were quiet and on the smaller side but not too small. They included coffee, tea (with a real teapot), bathroom amenities, mini refrigerator, heated bath towel rack, and bathrobes( a bit scratchy). The hotel ran out of coffee pods at one point so they provided free coffee in the reception area which included a bar. You can purchase coffee, drinks, and breakfast in reception. The tube station is right across the street, along with a Tesco and a Pret. A bigger grocery store is 2 blocks away. Also the British museum is only a couple of blocks away. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Aytul was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful in making our stay the best it could be in London. She and all the other staff were very kind! The hotel itself is so quaint and comfortable and the rooms quite spacious. The location of the hotel is across the street from a Tube stop so perfect location also.

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting London and found the location to be ideal. Russell Square tube station is a 2 minute walk around the corner and Tesco Express is directly opposite the tube station entrance. The hotel is very clean and the staff were friendly. We booked room only as we were out and about early each day and there are many places to get breakfast nearby and probably a cheaper alternative! The hotel is nicely decorated inside and the wrought iron staircase is a lovely feature. The bed was large and extremely comfortable and we had fluffy robes and slippers. The bathroom was large with a lovely big bath and sink and plenty of towels. Ladies you do not require shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or body lotion as all were provided and smelled divine. We had a small fridge and a safe in the room and there was a large mirror over the dressing table, together with a hairdryer (so many hotel rooms do not have well positioned mirrors or sockets!) We would definitely use this hotel again when visiting London. It is only one stop from Kings Cross on the tube and one stop in the opposite direction to Covent Garden.

Located across from a park and right behind the British Museum this property is well located and close enough to walk to the London tourist sites. Very clean and a quiet property which was very good value for money despite the high costs of London in general. The apartment we booked was large in size and had all the amenities you would expect. This is a property that we will definitely stay at again on our next visit. We found no negative points.

Lovely decor (I enjoyed the Bloomsbury Group themed pictures on the stairs and in the basement bar). Good room with gorgeous creamy bedlinen and excellent spacious shower room. Friendly staff went out of their way to help. But I had disappointing experiences with breakfast. Machine coffee poor. I ordered American pancakes with fresh fruit, imagining them freshly cooked and heaped with fruit - what arrived was flabby and tasted half-raw, as if warmed up from a packet, with three raspberries on top! Second morning the chef hadn't arrived by advertised breakfast start time, so I went out without. The basement bar/breakfast space is very pleasant to sit in, so I was sorry that the food didn't work for me. . I can see that it's a challenge to create an economic way to provide catering for such a small hotel in such an expensive location. But the current model - reception staff double as waiters, limited menu of dishes which can be put together quickly in small kitchen using ready-made items, coffee machine etc - unfortunately lets down the well thought-out decor and extremely helpful staff. If this could be sorted out I'd definitely stay again!
