We hired Chambers II, III and IV to host a workshop for up to 64 attendees. The hotel events team contact Gabor was always available to answer any queries and clearly explained all the features included in the quote. We were very happy with the on the day delivery. The seating layout and the timing for the refreshments was well organised and the quality of service was of high standard.

I booked a room for one night predicated on location and that the hotel sold itself to me on being a 5 star property. This is most definitely not the case. It would in my opinion be no better than a 3 star property. My room was grubby and extremely tired. Please see photos of bathroom and bedroom. The heating control did not work and there was a terrible draft from one of the sash windows. This was due to the fact that a portable air conditioner or possibly a dehumidifier was Jerry rigged with an extraction hose ported through the window. The aperture was sealed badly using gaffer tape. The net curtains were grey and the room was musky. All in all a terrible experience. I certainly would not return.

First time here. Great location. We popped in for a drink so if you want some peace and quiet from all the hustle and bustle (and busy pubs), this is the place. I thought the hotel reception and bar area was lovely. Had 3 cells you could sit in which was great and quirky. Somewhere to try for a drink anyway, despite the bad reviews on here. I loved it. Give it ago.

Extremely poor service from the reception manager when a problem with breakfast booking, she was rude, unhelpful and totally condescending, she made us as customers feel very uncomfortable, this affected the way we we viewed the hotel, you really need to train your managment staff in customer service, I am very disappointed in the way you looked after our problem. In general the hotel was OK, it is tired and needs a bit of a upgrade. The afternoon tea was excellent with brilliant service so was the cinema, perhaps the people that run the afternoon tea restaurant need to go in and train the reception manager in customer service. Night service staff were also incredibly helpful.

We took 4 rooms at the hotel, and hired a meeting room for our company AGM. The service we received was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and the meeting room was well set out with everything we needed - although it was very cold! We have stayed at this hotel before and really like it. It has an interesting history as a former Magistrates Court, complete with cells - in fact I believe the breakfast room is an old cell or waiting room. The breakfast was good, both traditional English and Continental Style. The tea and coffee were both served from a thermos jug and I felt that freshly made tea and coffee would have been nicer but that's a very minor gripe. I would definitely stay here again.

I am giving this hotel a 1 star review because my husband and I were just profiled by a staff member and this completely unacceptable. I came to this hotel on a business trip with my husband who is in senior management at Sony PlayStation. We are from the US and have been traveling, so we are dressed casually in sneakers and caps. We were on our way down to check out the pool (which is terrible) and noticed an older Caucasian male staff member with greying hair and facial hair staring oddly at us. As we went down the stairs we saw him hurrying down after us. He began calling out and asking me where I was going. My husband was a little bit ahead of me so the staff member may not have known we were together. He then asked me, “Can I help you?” In a very accusatory tone. Normally this fairly benign question wouldn’t be a problem. However, the tone in which is asked it made it obvious that this staff member was suspicious of us. I immediately thought we had mistakenly gone to a restricted area and began explaining that my husband and I are guests and were trying to find the pool. Another staff member who was much friendlier starting giving us directions. This person interrupted the other staff member and proceeded to “escort” us us to the pool without so much as a smile or a friendly word. When we came out, he was still there. Although the location is excellent, the hotel decor is outdated/somewhat shabby. We have never stayed in this hotel before so I don’t know what the other rooms look like. However, the room we were given is small, the carpet is old, there is no closet and there are only a few shelves to put your clothes in—nowhere to hang anything. The furniture looks cheap and unfashionable. We would be able to overlook all of this had this presumptuous staff member not profiled us as people who didn’t belong here and who he thought looked “suspicious” enough to follow and question. This is completely unacceptable! You can never tell who a person is based solely on appearances. A person who you may think looks shabby may be a millionaire or VP of a Fortune 500 company. This is why everyone should be treated with respect no matter what they look like to you. When I called the concierge to complain, the person who picked up seemed to know exactly who I was referring to and simply apologized and rushed me off the phone. Sony PS has recently begun encouraging employees to stay at this hotel because it is literally steps away from their London Soho office. My husband will be reporting this incident to the appropriate department and requesting that Sony no longer refer employees to this hotel. It is not a very nice hotel and the fact that they employ staff who engage in racial and/or classist profiling (I am Black and my husband is Caucasian) makes it an establishment that should not be endorsed by a reputable organization such as Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I empathize with all of the recent reviews that left 1-2 stars. My experience here was absolutely horrible- so much so that my husband and I checked out early and moved to another hotel. I would give this zero stars if I could. I cannot understand how this is a “5 star” hotel. 1. After our first two nights here, we discovered the door to our room didn’t actually lock properly; you could go in without scanning a key. Staff didn’t treat this with urgency at all. The first time we told them about it, they didn’t do anything and we had to follow up. By then it was 10 pm when they switched us to another room- which did not have functioning air conditioning (temps in London the week we stayed were in the 90’s Fahrenheit). 2. We then got moved to a third room, where the bathroom counter was crumbling and had holes all over it. At this point it was nearly midnight and we felt too tired/defeated to examine anything else in the room. 3. In this third room, we discovered that the drain in the shower would bubble up with water WHENEVER YOU USED THE BIDET. Absolutely disgusting. We decided to find another hotel after this. The air conditioning in this room also kept shutting off on its own throughout the night. 4. At the beginning of our stay we tried to use the pool. The door was locked. When we approached the concierge about this he had an attitude. After he let us in, we discovered the pool was freezing and also didn’t look like it had been cleaned in who knows how long, so we promptly left. 5. From the time we arrived to the time we left this hotel, we felt the staff was extremely unfriendly and didn’t seem to care, quite frankly. 6. Overall cleanliness of the rooms (across the three we were in after getting moved twice) was poor. Looking back on it, we should have left for another hotel earlier. The only positive thing about this hotel is its location. Even still, it’s not worth staying here. This hotel is a joke.

In a good location for tourists wanting all the sights of central London on their doorstep, but it is certainly not a 5* hotel. I would say it's 3* at best and absolutely not worth GBP300/night. Stay elsewhere. Limited amenities in the bedroom/bathroom vs. what you would expect if it was a 5* hotel (no robes/iron/cotton buds/moisture cream etc. etc.), old crusty towels, a sad limited buffet breakfast in a dingy little cupboard-like room, the hotel lobby is incredibly tired with a permanent tinge of stale smoke smell, and all the decor is outdated throughout. Only a few Sky channels worked on our TV and we weren't able to get BBC/ITV etc. at all. Most of the lights in our room didn't work. Some staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (concierge especially), whilst others were dour and hostile, for example: after checking out at 11am I had a few hours to wait before I needed to go to LHR so I was working in the lobby area. I went out to get a quick snack from Pret across the road and a member of staff reprimanded me for eating in the lobby (I was sat in the far corner out of the way, and the whole place was deserted as it always is). I asked where I could eat and he just said it's not allowed - didn't say why, but was very hostile - I think he thought I was a random who had just walked in off the street (if that was the case I would have chosen somewhere more pleasant!). Even after explaining I had stayed in the hotel for a week and was simply waiting for my flight he was very confrontational and unwelcoming. I would not recommend anyone stays here for the current price.
