The Courthouse Hotel has received mixed feedback, with guests appreciating its spacious and clean rooms, though some have encountered issues with dated decor and key card malfunctions. Its central location is lauded for convenience, yet a handful of visitors were underwhelmed.
The atmosphere strikes many as relaxing with good music and decor, despite certain areas appearing worn. While the hotel's amenities and service generally earn praise, particularly the afternoon tea and staff attentiveness, opinions on value diverge, with some guests questioning the costs relative to the luxury offered.

Stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of May 2024. The hotel is nice and the room was comfortable. We did however identify one or two things that in our opinion were not of a 5 star rating. One chair near the window in our room was faded and frayed badly at the bottom and looked about as old as me. I am 67. We found the male members of staff generally efficient but unfriendly. The concierge who 'greeted' us on the day we arrived barely spoke. When we asked questions he tended to point or grunt. The menu card in the bedroom indicated that pizza was available all day. I had an upset stomach on arrival so thought this might be a sensible choice rather than anything too spicy. When we went to the restaurant, it served only curries and a few other Asian items. When I explained I had an upset stomach and wanted a pizza, I was told that this was only available as room service. Nothing on the card in the room said this. When checking in we were asked to leave a ÂŁ50 deposit to cover any damage or breakages during our stay and this would then be refunded. I saw no mention of this when booking and I can see how some guests might find this an issue if their stay in London (which is always quite expensive) had limited funds.

Stayed here with friends for a girls weekend in June. We stayed for 3 nights. We arrived at 2340 on a Friday night and our welcome was less than warm. The receptionist didn’t welcome us. Barely said hello and looked, frankly, irritated by our presence.
The room was good - great size for the 3 of us with complementary robes etc. however, the room did not match the pictures we had seen online, linked to our booking (there was jo bath in the room).
We asked for an iron which took over an hour to be brought to our room (they sent it to the wrong room but didn’t bother trying to locate the right one!) After the room had been made up on the first day we were led towels for two, not three people. Another call to reception which seemed to be a hassle for them to deal with.
We tried to go to the rooftop bar but it is only open 4-10:30 and, having arrived at 10:02 (and despite being residents) we were told last orders was 10pm and we couldn’t be served. We went down to the main hotel bar that had no staff in it, no customers and absolutely no atmosphere. The concierge did offer to find someone to serve us but as it was a Saturday night we decided to go somewhere with some life.
We used the spa facilities on our last day. The smell of damp was overwhelming and it wasn’t particularly clean - a lot of hard water limescale. There was no spa attendant, no towels provided at the spa area. All felt a little bit like the place had been abandoned and they forgot to tell us.
I think the cinema spa and bowling alley get it it’s high rating but the place needs a good clean and freshen up. The disappointing service really let it down.

My daughter and I stayed here as we were going to a show at the London Palladium and it is practically next door. Good location opposite the end of Carnaby street. We were able to drop our cases off early while we went off shopping and for a meal. We checked in later and again the staff were very polite and helpful. They offered to tell us about the hotel facilities but as we were going to a show we said they didn’t need to tell us. Room clean and comfortable with some toiletries provided. Tea and coffee and a fridge which was useful. Also two bottles of water. Some complimentary slippers were handy. Would stay again however the roof top bar was extortionate as two drinks cost £34! So would avoid that next time.

Had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Staff were attentive and welcoming when I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, which resulted in a very spacious, clean, and tidy room. The bed was comfortable, with a firm mattress, soft pillows, and soft sheets. The room temperature was adjustable on the thermostat. The shower had great water pressure, with only minor fluctuations in temperature. Breakfast was lovely and offered a selection of hot and cold options. Ramadam provided excellent service during breakfast, making me feel very welcome and encouraged me to stay and finish my breakfast tea and offered more, even though breakfast had officially finished. The breakfast room itself was beautiful, with glass ceiling panels and green marble floors. The hotel's location is also a major plus. I would definitely stay here again!

Firstly, the hotel is in a great location, the rooms are clean and some of the staff were very helpful.. The room itself, however, had issues. The room key did not work for the entire weekend we were there - a total hassle going up and down constantly to get access to the room. The TV did not work and the window would not close properly so the room was draughty. The rooftop bar was closed for the weekend due to rain (I mean, it is the UK, surely we are used to this by now!) and the bar on the main level had the atmosphere of a morgue despite the popular location. The rest of the amenities were closed. Not sure what the situation is with the pool but we had various reasons from various staff members. They close the main door to the hotel at night and you have to ring a bell and wait....and wait...and wait. I felt unsafe standing outside for around 10 minutes on my own while someone eventually opened the door. Again, the key card did not work and after midnight someone from security had to let me into my room. I felt unsafe in the hotel and it was not an enjoyable experience. The hotel is far from a 5* and could be doing with some serious attention to the facilities that are being advertised and basically charged for. Instant coffee in the rooms and cheap bathroom products...I expect more from a 5* hotel. Service was variable from one day to the next and I did not feel welcome. We will not be back.

Dear DeeJay0530, Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about your stay. I am glad to hear that you appreciated our central location and the cleanliness of your room. However, I am truly sorry that the overall experience did not meet your expectations. Your concerns regarding the room key, television, and window have been noted, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. The delays at the entrance during the night and the closure of facilities, such as the rooftop bar and pool, also fall short of the experience we aim to provide. I understand how this would have affected your stay, and I regret that you felt unsafe at any point. We take feedback like yours very seriously, and I assure you that we are actively addressing these issues to improve our facilities and ensure a more seamless and welcoming experience for our guests. I am disappointed that your visit left you feeling unwelcome, and I hope you might reconsider staying with us again in the future to see the improvements we are making. Warm regards, Oana Bara Hotel Manager

On 9 Dec 2024 the hotel provided a champagne afternoon tea for 72 older Waltham Forest residents, many had disabilities. Wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walkers all accommodated easily.
We had sole use of the conference room which staff had decorated beautifully.
Everyone was made to feel welcome, including Bobby, an older emotional support assistance dog.
The attentive staff couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating.
The food was good quality, plentiful and beautifully presented.
Everyone enjoyed their experience. Not one complaint received.
All varying allergy & dietary requirements fully met and they made a 91 year old person feel so special when they sang happy birthday and surprised her with a cake.
Afternoon Tea experience highly recommended.
Toilets spotlessly clean too
Many thanks Gail Penfold, Robert Burns Humanitarian and Queen's Platinum Champion Crisis and Welfare

Outstanding staff so polite, welcoming, helpful. Beautiful suite with double level room, clean, well kept, lovely happy birthday slice of cake for us on arrival. Lovely little pool area for an afternoon swim and sauna which was very well received after being out in the cold. Breakfast was ok, nicely laid out, warming plates would have been a good idea and coffee was a bit cold but was made a fresh one straight away. Smoked salmon was lovely and fresh, tea was delicious in a small pot, nice sausage, fruit was fresh and sweet. Attentive staff throughout the hotel. Great location. Lovely rooftop bar area, was too cold and wet to sit there but great for summer. Will defo definitely be booking there again ! Thank you all at hotel for a great night stay.

The breakfast at the hotel was really excellent and left nothing to be desired. The buffet selection was extensive and offered both savoury and sweet options, so there was something for every taste. I particularly liked the fresh selection of fruit and the different bread and roll varieties that were offered fresh daily. Also the selection of hot food was impressive and of good quality.
The staff in the breakfast room were extremely friendly and helpful. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a smile and led to our table. Staff seemed to be always keen to give guests a pleasant start to the day and were always open to questions or requests. The service was fast and attentive without seeming intrusive.
Also particularly impressive was the cleanliness throughout the breakfast area. The tables were quickly cleared, and the buffet was constantly stocked up, so there was never a shortage of anything. It was a pleasure to have breakfast in such a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, breakfast has made a perfect start to the day and makes us think back on this stay. Big praise to the team!

The location is unique, near to Soho, West End, at the end of Carnaby street, on foot you can go easily to Regent Street, Oxford Street, 15 minutes away Govern Garden piazza etc. The price seems reasonable for London, the employees very polite, and ready to help at every request. The enlgish breakfast with all the basics, was enough to give us energy throught the day. It's the perfect place to start your journey should you can afford it (200-250 euros per night). The only thing I would like to mention to hotel owners is to find a way to provide access to disable people through the front door in Marlborough street!

Delicious champagne tea. Excellent service from Aarti. Sandwiches all fresh, cakes sweet, especially the mango cheese cake. Great venue so close to Liberty and in the middle of the busy shops in Regent Street and Oxford Street. A lovely present from our children.

Did not see any mice myself someone posted a photograph of a mouse in their room.
This is NOT a 5 star hotel at all and the breakfast is awful. Can I recommend the Cavendish on Jermyn Street, often cheaper, cleaner and excellent breakfast.
I would not recommend the Courthouse although it is not quite as bad as some reviews make out. Location is its main saving grace.

Hello Tiffany,
This will depend on the size and how many suitcases you want to leave behind. As you can imagine there is limited space for luggage storage

2) There is a swimming pool. However, it is only open between 10 and 17, so not much use if you want to use it before the start of your day or when you return from a day in the city.
However, I would definately recommend you to choose for another hotel. While the rooms are nice, the service is very bad at this hotel.
There are more places to choose from in the London area.
