Classic boutique hotel with a great bar and restaurant! Chennelle and Shayla were very helpful at the front desk, helping me with early check in after I arrived exhausted from my morning flight, and also with neighborhood tips and securing a ride back to the airport upon leaving. My stay here this week was a good one.

It's my first time staying at this hotel. The room was suitable for a solo traveler. Also, the room was always clean, tidy, and well-appointed. I needed a place to stay before departing on the Eurostar, and the location was obviously quite convenient for King's Cross and St Pancras. Overall, it was very good, and I look forward to returning

I needed a convenient hotel for 2 nights, catching a train at Kings Cross. I didn't require anything grand, just a room for sleeping. I booked into a City View, Heritage Large Room and was not disappointed. London hotel prices are high but for what I paid, this was a steal-of-a-deal! Big bed, great linens, rainfall/power shower, toiletries, robes, slippers, mini-fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, decent A/C, 2 large windows that opened and beautiful view. Snack room at the end of the hall had larger coffee machine, fridge with milk, crisps, brownies, fruit. Tips: Ask for a room away from the bar/outside café area. I contacted them in advance re: early arrival and, although they could not promise, my room was ready when I arrived. Very secure, key card required for entry to lifts and hallways. I will stay here again as this was very positive esperience.

Good hotel and nice rooms, but check in is at 3pm while our room wasn't ready until 5pm. I suggested that maybe they should compensate with a breakfast, but they didn't want to. When we have traveled all day it is ok to be able to get the room at the right time.

Despite having made a reservation months ago we were giving a room (arrival at about 9:30 pm) afterwards described as "unsuitable for old people." The bed was wedged between a window and two walls so that one person had to climb over the other. When we complained we go back talk. My husband had hysterics so bad that I was considering calling emergency for him to be sedated. In the morning the general manager gave us a 50% refund. Don't go there unless your love is very new. We hightalied it without exploring the neighborhood, which was jumping and convenient.

Dear SusanJ13, We hope this finds you well. Thank you for sharing your feedback. A couchette room was booked and a couchette room was allocated for your stay. While we do try and upgrade guests who are not comfortable, it remains subject to availability due to the high occupancies we have experienced through the summer. We apologise that the stay was not what you expected. May we recommend our Heritage and Victorian rooms for your next visit. They're much larger, and tastefully appointed. We hope that you allow us another chance to be of service. Have a nice day. Best regards, Mez

This is a beautiful stylish hotel with a lot of drawbacks, starting with the entrance. For better or worse, it is located right next to the Kings cross and Saint Pancras train stations. As a result, the streets are insanely busy with horrible traffic, which is classic of London overall. There are two cab lines in front of the hotel for train station people which means there’s no drop off area for hotel guests. Accordingly, if you’re using an Uber you have to be dropped off across a very busy street with all your luggage. Neighborhood is crowded and a bit grungy — not the nice London experience you’d get in a better neighborhood, I soon realized. The hotel entrance is a single tiny unassuming door which is fine but definitely a bit weird considering the size of the hotel. There is no doorman to provide assistance with luggage. In addition, the cab line is for train station people so the lines are often long though they do tend to move quickly. Inside, the space is beautiful and stylish. This is where the hotel really shines. The bar is very cool. Unfortunately, our “larger“ heritage room was a postage stamp. Beautiful with high ceilings and nice architectural details, but the tiniest of rooms with barely room for our luggage. The bathroom was nice except for the fact that there was a pedestal sink even though theyr was room for a much more useful vanity with a countertop. It seems that the Brits don’t like functional sinks because this was a common theme throughout at every place where we stayed. The room did come with nice amenities such as access to a pantry where we could make tea and coffee with milk and snacks were provided. Also, there is a pret a manger right outside the hotel if you want to quick coffee or grab and go food. All in all, we will not be staying here again.

Dear Minhvu2014, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Great Northern Hotel, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, London. We are happy to read that you found the hotel beautiful and stylish, and that you used the services of the guest pantry. Our Heritage rooms are our larger rooms, and we have one category larger called Victorian rooms. The hotel does not have a doorman but we do have luggage porters to help with your luggage and a concierge to help with any requests that you may have. We hope that you allow us the opportunity to be of service once again. Have a lovely week. Best regards, Mez Front Office

We chose this hotel for the location and it couldn't have been better - a direct trip from Heathrow on the tube, right next to Kings Cross and St. Pancras train stations, good connections to other parts of London, and in a vibrant neighbourhood with lots of shops, restaurants, and pleasant walks. The terrace restaurant was a great spot to enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by. The check-in was a little slow and the lobby was not very inviting. The pantry with tea/coffee and snacks was a nice touch. I'm used to small London hotel rooms but, although I found our Edwardian room cute, with nice wood panelling and views over the train station, it wasn't very well laid out. Our closet door didn't have space to open fully because the bed was in the way, making it difficult to use.I would likely stay in this hotel again but choose a larger room.

I have stayed at this hotel before (5 years ago) and had a great experience however this time around the bed felt very uncomfortable and squeaky, the room was absolutely tiny where it was a struggle for two to be in there which was a shame. I would think twice about staying here again other than for ease of location.

Popped in the bar for a relaxing drink prior to a long journey. Found the bar to be very dark and dingy with poor quality old/rundown seating. When we arrived there was some background music playing but not at a level which interfered with conversation. At 4pm just as we were enjoying a glass of wine the volume of the music was doubled, to a level where it was necessary to shout to make ourselves heard. I spoke to the manager about the volume and asked that it be turned down. He told me that he couldn't because the hotel policy was to increase the volume at 4pm to create an "atmosphere". He suggested that I could go upstairs where it was quieter. Instead I chose to leave, as did some other customers. I don't know what type of clients this establishment hopes to attract with this policy, but I for one will never return.

We’ve stayed a few times here and find it a really useful and ideally placed landing pad when in London over the weekend. Staff are always helpful and welcoming and rooms are always clean, tidy and well appointed. We love the pantry room at the end of our floor too where we can dip in for a coffee, snack or cold drink. Highly recommend the Great Northern!
