We booked a room for 4 people. The space was incredibly small and we did not have a matress, at least I would not call it a matress. Sleep was impossible. I know that because I paid little money I should not expect much, but on their website it was lovely and I think that if some rooms are next...

The Rest up was my first experience as to what many "budget" Hostels practice. This review will be done in two parts. Part one Factual observations. You have to have a punch code to even get on the grounds. It is easy enough for people to "catch the door" but you need your card to get into your room. Key...

Spent 3 nights at Restup, London. After entering our private room, I wanted to get the heck out of there. Dirty, cramped and washroom that had no counter space and a tiny sink. If you are 25 and under, this place could be for you if you like paper thin walls, loud conversations in the hallways and constant slamming of...

We stayed in a 10-bed dorm for three nights. Can't say that we enjoyed it very much, cuz we never stayed in the shared room before, but you get what you pay for. All in all it's a pretty decent hostel with friendly stuff and excellent location. The Tower of London as well as Westminster Palace is withing a 30-minutes...

The wifi doesnt exist. Only on the lounge and its so slow. Needs to have a better noise policy, because it was 00h00 and there was lots of noises on the hall. The doors are electric shut, but makes lots of noise closing. Some people like to bang the door. The walls are too thin and u can hear everything...

Very nice location, 20 minutes walk to Big Ben. There are a few markets and fast food restaurants nearby. There are only 2 toilets for the whole floor. They are cleaned only once a day I guess so it stinks. Stinks a lot. There are only a few sockets so it could be a problem to find a free one...

Dear Aran, I think most of hostels at least in London have approximately the same hours of check in and check out, we can understand sorry if it didn't suit you. We are sorry that your stay with us was so unpleasant for you. Hope had a nice trip and you enjoyed London.

I stayed here in last November (in 2016) with one of my friends. We booked a private bedroom. The room was clean but we couldn't close the window so the nights were a little bit cold. We stayed here 5 days and in the fourth day of our stay the plugs didn't work in our room which was terrible. But...

Since I would guess most of the staff is foreign not all informations might be 100% correct so double check important info such as how to get to the airport etc Otherwise I had no complaints, hot rooms during cold weather in January didn't bother me, showers were hot and no long queues. Few minutes walk to/from Elephant&Castle tube.

There are many ways to get to wherever you want to go in London, so it could be that you got different answers but both were correct. Thanks for your review! We are always trying to improve our services, so that our guests can have the best of what London can offer. Daniel

Me and my friend went to London over the weekend. We booked a private room with a private bathroom (without toilet paper). The hostel looks pretty cool design wise and the staff members are super friendly. Even though you can find better for less money, as was told us by locals. The location is AMAZING close to everything. The room...

Hi! Thanks for the review. I'm sorry about the missing toilet paper, I hope you told reception and you immediately got some. I'm sure though that you will have a hard time finding a better located place for a lower price, as the value for money is our strength. We'd like to think that we offer great facilities for central...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
REST UP hostel in London has been established within Driscoll House, a unique pre-WWI baroque style listed building, unlike any other in the surrounding suburb of Elephant & Castle. We have a century old history of being a hostel, a claim that we are very proud of, originally just for women and children however now open to all. With an original exterior, the interior has been brought up to date with modern common areas perfect for relaxing and zoning out of reality and into the cyber world with our FREE WIFI. Our TV room and terrace are both great places to enjoy some snacks and laze around in the brightly coloured chairs/ bean bags and soak up the sunlight (on the rare occasions when London’s weather decides to shine). English not your mother tongue? That’s not a problem! We have multi-lingual staff that are here to help you. A hostel unlike any other hostel; with the hustle and bustle of central London on our doorstep complimented by the great array of guests within (young and old from all around the world) as well as friendly staff and delicious meals available throughout the day it’s the perfect place to make new friends, relax and REST UP at Driscoll House Hostel. ... more   less
