I stayed at South Place over the Easter bank holiday and it was ideal for exploring the city, right by Liverpool Street station to get into the west end but also within walking distance of the best of East London, like Shoreditch and Brick Lane. The hotel itself is super sleek, with a clean and modern feel, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast at Chop House is good and we also tried afternoon tea in the Secret Garden, which was of a really high quality.
Dropped in for a very informative meeting and then stayed for gorgeous coffee, debrief with the memsahib and five star service thank you. Great for people watching with comfy seats indoors and a good stoep outside
We were served by Neresh. Whose attention to us was phenomenal. We had a thoroughly delightful evening. The drinks selection and food was perfect for a date. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you Neresh for a great evening.
Had the most relaxing and amazing stay at South Place recently - I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to let people know how wonderful this hotel really is. From the food to the rooms to the decor. I personally never usually feel like one night is enough in a hotel, but by the end of my stay I felt SO relaxed and rejuvenated. The steam/sauna area were highlights too - there's so much to do in the hotel that you could happily spend your entire stay there. A special mention to the service, every staff made us feel so welcomed- in particular Anna and JuanMa (from reception), Marta and Steve (who helped us during the evening). Everyone we encountered really went out of their way for us.
Really lovely hotel, but overpriced for the quality of service I received. Firstly, the rooms need some work- the door frame was coming off between the bathroom. Secondly the service during breakfast that I received was extremely frosty. I ordered poached eggs with avocado on toast. When they came they were completely over cooked. I asked the waitress nicely if I could have runny eggs and she blamed me for not asking for runny ‘poached’ eggs- left a sour taste in my mouth after spending almost £1000 over two nights. Wouldn’t visit again although good distance to restaurants. I would however visit the Angler restaurant again as service was unbeatable.
We stayed for two nights when my sister was getting married in Chelsea and this hotel couldn't be in a better spot. We found the service impeccable and the prices reflected the standard of the hotel. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.
Lovely air B&B Great sea view garden. Amazing food and amiable host. I loved my stay and felt well looked after. My room was lovely and very clean. I look forward to staying here again . It' location in Ikoyi is well secure and close to public transport, shopping high street Awolowo road.
This was the first time I stayed at this hotel and I can’t say enough for the accommodations, location and amazing staff. This staff went over and above to help me with a luggage situation where I had shipped my bags in advance. In addition, the staff were always helpful and the room was well- appointed. The decor was creative and cheeky in the lobbies and the restaurants were superb. The location to Liverpool station was perfect as I walked there everyday.
I stayed in a king room for 2 nights on business. Check-in was efficient and friendly. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There was sound-proofing on the windows but South Place isn't too noisy so it acted more as a blackout. The bar could be busy but the drink selection was reasonable. Breakfast was nice - served rather than buffet and if you pay in advance, it's a maximum of £25. I would happily return.
We stayed in suite 610 for Valentines day, where we got engaged in the amazing bath! 💕 Suite 610 was a beautiful room... however... at nearly £700 a night, I was absolutely shocked that breakfast was not included in this price. Infact the only complimentary drinks included were 2 bottles of water. On the website it stated that complimentary soft drinks and snacks were included, however as we booked through a different booking website these again weren't included. There didn't seem to be adequate plug sockets in the bedroom and bathroom. So no where to comfortably blow dry your hair in front of a mirror. The room is beautiful however I don't think it's worth £700 without the little extras
