Stayed here for almost a year and everyone was family
Our stay at Native Hyde Park was supposed to be for a short while after we closed down our London apartment and awaited our visas to relocate to South Africa. There were so many complications even after we submitted the applications, that we ended up staying at Native Hyde Park for almost a year in a studio apartment. Honestly, if it wasn't for the fantastic staff at this property, I would have gone stir crazy very quickly. We had chosen to stay at Native, as our apartment had been on the next street, so we were very familiar with the area and my husbands office was walking distance away at Paddington. We loved this location for our apartment and all the benefits of this location, apply to Native as well - Paddington Station, Hyde Park, Kensington, The V&A Museum, Oxford Street, Natural History Museum, Science Museum are all walking distance from here. Lancaster Gate on the Central Line is a hop skip & jump away. There are plenty of small restaurants in the area and Queensway is excellent for picking up groceries. Plenty of buses to connect you to all over London, with excellent frequency in this part of town. Deliveroo, Just Eat & Uber Eats deliver to your apartment. 24 hour concierge means there's always someone around to help and to receive packages. Housekeeping is once a week, but if you have an emergency, they are happy to help. We had the lovely apartment on the 1st floor with the humongous balcony (larger than the apartment), but unfortunately due to a company policy, it was kept locked. I love to cook and feed people, we still managed to do that in that tiny apartment. A reasonable sized fridge (no freezer), double induction hob and an oven. All the basic crockery and pots - they very helpfully provided me with more when I needed them. Our apartment had a pull out couch and we also ended up having a friend or my sister stay over on some nights over the 11 months. They gladly gave us extra bedding for the pull out bed. Given the length of time we spent here, everyone of the staff at the reception desk and a large part of the cleaning crew became great friends, almost like family. Their concern was evident - about the state of our visa process, my husband being airlifted from Ethiopia back to London because of a dog bite and lack of rabies vaccine in that country, we've been through so much together. We shared their happiness too, when someone got a new car, where they went on their weekends off. The staff is just so super friendly and helpful. I thought I'd written this review last year as soon as we moved to Johanneburg, but realised that I hadn't. The names I remember off the top of my mind are : Jazz, Andrew, Billy, Aniko, Roberta and Catarina. Thank you so much for being our family for 11 months.
Hey Karishma, WOW! This was so wonderful to read. Thank you ever so much for the 5* review and for the amazing recommendation you have given us! It has been so lovely having you with us, you felt like part of our Native family! You've summed up our apart hotel perfectly - the location, the housekeeping, the 24hr concierge, the apartment amenities and size and our fabulous Native Hyde Park team! The people really do make a difference and we will be certain to share your compliments with the team, including Jazz, Andrew, Billy, Aniko, Roberta and Catarina! We all hope you had a safe onward journey and we are all wishing you the best for the future. We hope to see you again in the not too distant future! Warm wishes Jill Rippingale on behalf of the Native Hyde Park team

    Quiet yet accessible neighbourhood
Located near Paddington station, there are direct buses into the Oxford Road shopping district, and a tube station is just round the corner. However, it is far and isolated enough to still have a quiet and peaceful night. We got a loft, which was pretty nice. It came with two toilets, but only the upper floor had showers, so it was a little inconvenient. The kitchenette facilities are beyond what I have experienced in other apart-hotels, there was a full-sized fridge and even a dishwasher! Excellent place to stay when visiting London. The lobby also had a small pantry where you could grab a few tins of beans and some pasta to whip up a homely dinner after a day of sightseeing.
Thank you for your feedback, I am so sorry it took so long to get back to you (as you can imagine it was a strange time). It's so nice of you to take the time to leave a review and this is greatly appreciated. We really hope to welcome you back again soon.

    Birthday weekend away
We stayed in the premium 2 bed apartment with our daughter. The staff were fantastic on our arrival and throughout. The room had exactly what we needed, all kitchen appliances, comfy big beds, it was clean and had brilliant views. The bathroom provided shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, although the shower gel bottle was empty (which didn’t bother us), but probably needs checking prior to guest arrival. The apartment’s in a great location, and we used the Just Park app to park about a 5 minute walk from it. A lovely, warm and welcoming hotel for all.
Victoria, thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review! We are very thankful you chose to stay with us for a birthday weekend away and equally glad you all enjoyed your stay! It is wonderful to see that you were pleased with your room and that it had 'everything you needed'. We really hope to see you again soon and once again, thank you for this lovely review! Warm wishes Jill Rippingale on behalf of Native Hyde Park

Stayed here for a work trip in a Premium Studio apartment. Wasn't in the room very long but it's a great location, 2 mins walk from Paddington station and Hyde Park. Plenty of option for dining/food. Room was very spacious and included queen bed, sofa and TV, desk area and kitchen including: fridge, induction/electric hob and plenty of cutlery/plates should you cook your own food. No bottled water which is slightly disappointing. Would stay again - reasonably priced Pros: Location Room size was excellent Reception was good Room was clean Bed a good size and comfortable Good for price Great amenities in room Cons: Room wasn't ready at 2.45pm which was disappointing Lift and corridor area in need of a refresh Water stains on shower seal/door

Native Hyde Park was great for us. We stayed in a one bed apartment and it was good to have a separate living area to bedroom. Although we didn’t use the kitchen it seemed well equipped and it was handy to have the fridge. The bedroom was snug but the bed was comfy, the room was quiet and the black out curtains did the job. The bathroom was nice and big with bath and shower. We found the location to be very good as it was a five minute walk from both Paddington station and underground. There is a lovely cafe around the corner for breakfast called Hyat. Staff were helpful and helpfully packaged up earbuds I’d left and passed them onto the courier I’d arranged. Overall a great stay

Good location and spacious room to spent 5 nights here. My husband and I loved this place. However, one minor area to be improved - it would good to have alternate day for simple room clean if stay more than 3 nights. The rest are perfectly fine.

Was put on the 4th floor only one lift working, room was tiny, around 4 meters square, and in it was a bed,a table with one chair, kitchen against one wall, room was boiling hot ,windows only opened a tiny bit,no aircon,no curtains, only very thin blinds,so around 5 in the morning when it got light, was very bright in the room. there was a small fan in the room, but was practically useless.the place to hang your clothes was a rail in the entranceway, where the bathroom was ,the bath was very short and you could only sit in it not relax, also the hot water to the bath was less than luke warm,so had to fill saucepans from the wash basin to fill the bath.was told there was porridge and orange juice for us next morning, but saw no signs of it.this cost me over £260,would suggest you look elsewhere.

Convenient location for Billy Joel BST concert at Hyde Park, 30 minute stroll or short bus ride. Check in easy and quick, room very basic, and tired needs a facelift. Pillows were rubbish, but pleased there was an electric fan and it was reasonably quiet so we could have windows open. Not equivalent breakfast items to previous stay in Glasgow and disappointed no breakfast tea bags just peppermint. We would have expected a bit more for the price we paid

Firstly, the photos on the website are totally misleading. The “apartment” is the same size as a normal double room in Travel Inn etc with the addition of a kitchen. No room for sofas etc as shown. When we arrived there wasn’t anyone on reception. Two people were sat waiting and we asked if they had seen someone. They said he had gone to get something. When he appeared he acknowledged us. So far so good! We checked in and he gave us a card with a mobile telephone number which was to contact reception “via WhatsApp only”. Bearing in mind we were being charged £315 for the night I found this strange. We were later to learn that varying amounts are charged for the rooms. Anywhere between £200-350. He let us know that there wasn’t air conditioning but there was a fan. One lift wasn’t working and reading TripAdviser reviews this as been broken for at least 3 months. The carpets in the corridor were stained and when we entered the room (208) I was shocked how shoddy it all was. We opened a drawer and the handle came off, sellotape on the bed to hold veneer on, broken bits off the door to the bathroom. All in all the place needs updating. The pillows were so old that the foam had broken into lumps! Bed very uncomfortable. I duly sent a WhatsApp message but didn’t receive a reply. I tried several times again, with no reply. I emailed, texted, rang no one there. As we were going out and leaving our passports in the room we shut the windows, one of which did not have a window lock. There isn’t a safe in the room either. We went through reception but no one was there again. The front door wide open so anyone could get in. When we came back from dinner again no one there. I range HO but they only work Monday to Friday 9-5! My partner persuaded me to accept the room for the night and we would try resolve it the following day. We were supposed to be staying 2 nights in a luxury apartment. In reception the next day was a receptionist! I went through everything with him and told him we didn’t want to stay another night but we wanted our money back as the room was not an advertised and in fact it was misleading. I understand that the Native properties are not a chain but a franchise which explains the difference in experience people are having in other Native properties. Unfortunately the receptionist couldn’t help but he said the Reception Manager was on her way for 10am. He tried to contact her but no reply. Eventually she turned up at 11.30 and I explained everything to her. She apologised and after a fairly lengthy discussion agreed to refund the money for the second night so we could stay elsewhere. As by this time I didn’t trust Native I asked her to email me confirming the refund whilst we went to pack. She said she would catch up on the messages I had sent as well. Returning to reception with our cases she changed her tune and said she couldn’t find my WhatsApp messages and that without the Operation Manager’s authority she couldn’t refund the money but could offer compensation. Adding if only you had informed us that you were unhappy yesterday! At this point I did raise my voice showing her the WhatsApp messages and pointing out that only 10 minutes previously she had offered a refund. Which we finally got! This place is a scam. So many people have given good reviews but I can only conclude this depends on room allocation. Don’t be swayed by the photos. This is Travel Lodge rooms that aren’t as clean and fresh and cost too much.

Dear Jane W, I am very sorry to hear that your stay at our property did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is incredibly important to us and we take your concerns seriously. Please accept our sincere apologies for the condition of the room and the lack of response to your messages. This is not the level of service we strive to provide and I assure you that your experience is not typical. Regarding the WhatsApp number, it's one of the ways we thought would streamline communication for our guests. However, based on your feedback, we understand that it might have caused more confusion than convenience. The lift situation is a concern we are well aware of and we're working diligently to get it fixed. It's a more complex issue due to the age and structure of the building. We understand the inconvenience it may cause and we appreciate your patience in this matter. As for the refund for the second night, we sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and any inconvenience caused. It's not our practice to go back on our words, and we're sorry if it came across that way. Rest assured that we are committed to improving the standards based on the feedback we receive from our valued guests like you. Thank you again for your feedback and if you would be willing to give us another chance, we would be more than happy to make sure your next stay with us lives up to your expectations. Best wishes, Angelos Kourkoulos

It obviously depends on the room you are allocated. I am paying for a Premium suite which is no different to a Premier Inn with a kitchenette added in which there isn’t a sink you need to use the bathroom sink! When we arrived there wasn’t anyone on reception but a couple of girls were waiting so we asked them. Apparently he had gone to collect something for them. So we waited. As soon as he appeared he acknowledged us which was great. We were allocated our room and as I have severe osteoarthritis I asked to be shown the lift. Looking at previous reviews it will come as a surprise to learn that 3 months on the lift hasn’t been fixed. We took the other lift to floor 2 or we would have if the lift could stop at floor 2! We had to go to floor 1 and walk up a flight of stairs with suitcases to get to our room. So far I am thinking this doesn’t feel like a £350 per night kind of place. Carpets have stains, bits of wood broken off doors everywhere looking tired and unkempt. The room 206 is a huge disappointment. The photos of them are misleading! It is nothing special at all. As we were going out for dinner we closed the windows for security and one window hasn’t a lock. Given we had a passports this was a little concerning so we took them with us. This Hotel doesn’t have air conditioning and so bear this in mind if booking in the Summer months. Passing through reception there was no one again. Surely with the front door wide open someone should be there? On returning from dinner we waltzed through (not literally with my knees!) reception with nothing and no-one to stop us gaining access. The receptionist gave me a mobile to use when booking in “for WhatsApp only” At this point as I’d decided that we couldn’t stay another night I tried to contact the man by WhatsApp as instructed, and tried and tried and tried. I emailed to see if this would help but no! This place has everything wrong for the price structure. It is pitching itself as high end and is falling way short. It is the equivalent of a TravelInn. Although I’d rather stay at a TravelInn which is cleaner and has working lifts!
