Dorset Square Hotel is a beautiful Regency townhouse with 38 individually designed bedrooms many of which look onto the leafy private garden square which was originally the site of Thomas Lord's first cricket ground. An interesting collection of cricket memorabilia can be seen displayed throughout the hotel. There is a sumptuous ground floor guest drawing room with a fireplace and The Potting Shed bar & restaurant which is open all day long. The hotel's interior has been designed by owner and design director Kit Kemp in her fresh modern English style.

My wife and I recently held our wedding reception at Dorset Square Hotel and The Potting Shed Restaurant and Bar. It was a really lovely and intimate event. The setting of the restaurant is very homely and unique, and the hotel and drawing room was great for photos. All our guests really enjoyed the venue and the quality of the food. We're still getting compliments about the canapés and the custom welcome drinks! In addition to great service, we would highly recommend the hotel and Potting Shed as a reception venue due to its close vicinity to Old Marylebone Town Hall. Marylebone and Baker St station are also within walking distance. We can't thank Luca (the General Manager), Giulia and the staff enough. Luca was very friendly, enthusiastic and easy to deal with. He made it easy for us to plan our event providing honest, open advice about what was possible and his experienced recommendations. He was generous in allowing us to customise things like the menu, drinks and restaurant space to how we wanted and within our budget. We also really appreciated his willingness to take impromptu calls and meetings to discuss any concerns or questions we had. Giulia and the staff were also warm, helpful and accommodating to our needs which really eased our minds, and enabled us all to relax and take in the occasion. We all felt well attended to and looked after. We will definitely be returning in the future and many of our guests said the same : )

I very much enjoyed my recent stay at the Dorset Square Hotel and can highly recommend it. The staff are friendly, always ready to warmly welcome you with a big smile. They’re like one big family. Attention to detail was another factor I very much appreciated. Comfort, care, and high quality products and service ore very much felt throughout the various touch-points. Tim and Kit - your ethos to hospitality are a gift and an inspiration. Thank you!

This is a small hotel very close to the underground station in a very pretty residential area. The hotel rooms are reached by staircase and are small but well appointed and very nicely decorated. There is a small lobby on the ground floor and a restaurant.

I've been staying in Firmdale hotels since over 20 years, including this one, but unfortunately, this time, my stay has been of the poorest quality and the highest price. I'm moving on after this experience. On the positive side, the location is very good, the hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are well appointed. On the negative side, the rooms and bathrooms are very small, our $700+ per night room had massive ducting blocking the window. This is unacceptable at this price. A well decorated lousy room is still a lousy room. Also, the hotel seems to suffer from lack of staff (including in the restaurant) and some of the staff is inexperienced. Perhaps this is an issue with many London hotels. Finally, I remember the restaurant food of being better in the past than my recent experience. Perhaps this is also related to the staffing issue.

Dear Zebdiane, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your stay at the Dorset Square Hotel. I am sorry to hear the disappointment about your room. Our manager on duty showed you few options but sadly none were up to your expectation. If you wish to return, you’re welcome to book via me at lucaperletti@firmdale.com and it would be a pleasure to personally take care of your reservation, Best wishes, Luca

Our room was exquisite (room 12) - we absolutely loved it. It was quiet and although not as large as some of their rooms we are used to on our travels - we actually found it to be perfect. Attention to detail and charm were present everywhere in the room. The bathroom was the perfect size and the towels were some of the softest we have ever had! The restaurant staff - both at breakfast time and in the evening - what a fabulous bunch of people. They were all attentive, considerate, polite and extremely friendly! It was a pleasure to go to the Potting Shed for meals. The wine list is extensive and the champagne was spot on. We will definitely be back.

I have always wanted to stay at a Firmdale hotel however their room size concerned me. This time though I was by myself and not with my hubby so I thought I would give it a go. I did however book a luxury room for two which is 17-19m2. It was perfect for me, though if I was travelling with someone else, I would struggle. Besides the room size, the decor is beautiful in that Kit Kemp way. It's simply luxurious. The bathroom was great, lovely size shower, fluffy towels and fantastic bath products. The welcoming plate of chocolate biscuits was a lovely touch. The turn down service and complimentary bottled water was also great. The location is wonderful - on the same street as Marylebone Station and Bakers Street station is around the corner. I did not have any meals at the hotel but grabbed breakfast at Pret which is just around the corner on Baker Steet. All in all, this is a lovely boutique hotel and I highly recommend it.

We found the staff very warm and helpful. The hotel room was decorated to a very high standard and generally experience a tranquil setting. With subtle gifts left on your bed. We had the vegetarian breakfast which was absolutely delicious. In the afternoon we enjoyed a cafetiere in the hotel lounge which we recommend.

Beautiful boutique hotel with comfortable room and pleasant service. Great to see the link with cricket and lords being upheld. Downsides were the lack of tea making facilities in the room, very uncomfortable pillows on the bed and for the high cost of a room I do think breakfast should be included. Breakfast OK but overpriced. However, it is a good place to stay. Very clean and the rooms are functional.
