it has been quite a while since the last time i went to London and i finally decided to write a review. i went for family trip and checked in to iBis Whitechapel. i love the amenities, the location and vicinity. but, service from a particular person which i do not want to name who was very very bad.
Work booked the hotel for a 2 night stay. Absolutely the most basic room that you can get. Painted concrete walls, poor quality laminate flooring, no separate bathroom as the shower and sink are open plan. Awful toilet. Low bed with thin mattress and quilt. Despite having the 'heating' on it was very cold. There are no cupboards or drawers - just a tiny rail and a few hangers open in the room. There is no chair or desk so you have to work on your bed! The breakfast is continental which is fine but the dining hall is stools and benches. Not great after a poor nights sleep and your back is breaking! Yet this was more expensive than Premier Inn and Travelodge!
I have stayed five days with my family. Took three rooms. rooms were clean the beds were comfortable. The location is excellent as it is close to two tube stations. The bus stop is infront of the hotel door. Lot of halal food options including halal subways and halal KFC. Staff are highly cooperative the only thing inconvenient was the new set up of separating bathroom from toilet. During my earlier stay, both were together giving some space.
Gotta say that Ibis budget is not my type of hotel, this one is a typical budget hotel. Located in eastern/ Muslim London; well located in terms of transportation (close to the underground and bus stops). Breakfast is good for a budget hotel, but rooms are really small; staff is friendly.
Beds are comfy, all clean, staff very friendly and helpful and near two tube stations. GREAT.The breakfast is only just over £5 and is all you can eat toast, cereals, fruit and croissants. Very small rooms but good for a short stay.
