Clean & modern room, quieter than most hotels in this area. Food of a good standard & variety. Staff are the best asset to this hotel. Very helpful and courteous. Hotel located in a central position with excellent tube links to visit other parts of London. We did walk to most areas ie Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden etc.

Great hotel, in fantastic location for sightseeing & underground. Family friendly and next door to Tesco Express which was very handy, White Hart pub across the road was great. Again, super friendly. Southwark village really cool. Had a lovely Chinese at Culture Grub. Really reasonable to!

Excellent service and lovely hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms very clean. And breakfast highly recommended. Hotel slightly out of the way but area around was very nice. With good facilities around eggs shops and pubs. Public transport within close proximity of hotel.

We are a family of 3 that stayed 4 nights in this hotel in August. We picked it over PI County Hall only for air conditioning. Originally, I thought that staying near London Eye was a preferred location, but I was more content in Southwark, away from the crowds. On a quite street with easy access to train and busses.... Easily located just behind the Tate modern / Shakespeare's globe. Only a stroll over the Millennium bridge from St Pauls, just off stop 16 on the Big Bus tours. Tesco & Sainsburys opposite, great breakfast & perfect if visiting with kids as family.

A no-frills hotel where we stayed for 3 nights. The price without breakfast was £429 for two. The price would have been the same had we had 2 children with us and they would not have had to pay for breakfast - a good deal for families. The rooms were of good size and comfortable and their famed beds did... More

Stayed for a few days in a family room. The room was a good size and very clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Location is good with the tube a few minutes walk. Breakfast was good value with a good selection. Only thing I would have liked extra in the room was a safe. Would stay again.

My husband, myself & our 10yr old daughter stayed in this hotel for 4 nights including breakfast. The location of the hotel is great. A 5 minute walk to the tube station with a tesco express & a sainsbury next to the hotel. The tate modern is a 2 minute walk away. The room itself was spacious and spotlessly clean.... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
