We booked in for Sunday lunch. The roasts were plentiful and really tasty. Their roast potatoes were so delicious, the poussin was well cooked and it disappeared rapidly from my friend's plate. The roast beef was beautifully pink and the vegetables, including roast carrots and parsnips, were great, with enough variety to keep us interested. One friend who is lactose intolerant had a specially cooked succulent piece of salmon with new potatoes and asparagus, to ensure that his diet was adhered to. There was bread and butter pudding for dessert but sadly no one had room. We saw that they do music evenings, with girl singers, while you either drink in the bar area, or eat. We want to go back again.

Friendly staff and great original cocktails by Aman at the bar. Spacious, clean bathrooms. I was there for a drinks event so did not get to sample much of the food but the finger food I tasted was also good. I think our event had 30-40 people and there was ample room for us in one section of the establishment.

We stayed next door at the St. John’s Wood boutique hotel so this restaurant/pub was very handy after a hard days work. They had tables outside which was lovely as the weather was so warm. The food was fabulous and is very reasonable, hotel guests get 10% off the bill. The service was second to non and we were made so welcome. Christian the bar manager was so helpful and unbelievably knowledgeable on his wines. It was lovely to chat with him and he was so interesting. We loved it so much that we ended up eating there on the second night too and yet again the food was delicious. Thank you so much Christian. We will be returning.

Visited with my partner and 2 kids during the eat out to help out promotion on a Tuesday. We checked the eat out to help out website where they were clearly listed as taking part and called them in advance to confirm they were participating and when we arrived they had the promotional stickers on their windows. At the end of the meal when the bill was presented it was at full price and when we questioned the waitress she said that in fact they are not participating (which was not what we were told at the time of booking) due to the government having not provided them with the 50% off code. We've been to other restaurants during this promotion and know that there is no code required and even checked on the government website and it was confirmed that they did not need any promo and were aware of this. When I told the waitress this she said she would only give a 20% discount instead. Absolutely appalling. There were many others eating there at the same time as us, can't imagine how many other customers they scammed during the promotion. On top of that the food took over an hour to be served. Would not go back.

Responded Sep 16, 2020
Hi, I am really sorry to hear you write this review as it is incorrect and untrue. I am one of the owners and i remember this clearly as it was at the start of the promotion and we have not scammed anyone, ever. Yes you did call to book, and you came and ordered your meal, without mention of the scheme until the bill was presented at the end. You said you assumed we was offering the scheme as it was on the government website, and i could understand why you thought that, but we applied for the scheme and was told to expect an email to confirm if we was approved and the details of how it worked. Unfortunately, we did not receive any email or any confirmation of being approved, so although the scheme had started, we could not offer 50% until we knew it would be reimbursed as we are running on extremely slim margins after this pandemic. This exactly what we explained to you at the time and offered you 20% off your entire bill, not just off the food. I am really disappointed with this review because the points you are making are a distortion of what actually happened and writing a review now, when this happened almost 2 month ago is a concern. We work extremely hard to provide a sincere and professional service, we are open, friendly and 100% trustworthy, so although i really appreciate your review and feedback as a constructive tool to improve our service, but on this occasion i know as i was present at the time, that this review has no merit because it is false and untrue. I wish you well for the future & thank you.

No draft beer as advertised on website.
Potatoes hard and under cooked, complained about the potatoes. Then bought 1 portion of chips between 2 (8/10 chips) a portion. Never took steak away to keep warm while cooking chips, which took 15 mins to cook.
BEWARE all spirits charged as a double.
4 drinks and 2 steaks £92
Complained to General Manager Christian and he wasn't interested.
We are local and won't be going back.
Also asked to leave after 1.5 hours, when my booking with operable I had 2 hours.

Hi Bev, I am very sorry you feel that way and did not like your time with us, all feedback is very important to us. We do not advertise draft beer because we do not offer it as we are now a restaurant and cocktail bar, not a pub anymore and we have tried to clearly promote that we are not the previous company and in fact a new business trying to build a lovely place for all locals and visitors to enjoy. I am surprise your chips were under cooked, because they are triple cooked, but i will definitely speak to Kristiyan regarding your experience. Our spirits are not charged as double and customers are asked when order all drinks, what measurement they would like and if there is any issue with anything, we will always do everything we can to ensure your happy. Our prices are advertised and clearly displayed on our menus and we regularly assess our prices with other restaurants in the area to ensure we offer competitive prices and are in fact cheaper than most in the area. When you did visit us, it was outside seating only and as we had limited for space at the time, tables of 2 were advertised on Open Table as 1.5 hours for up to 4 people and 2 hours up to 6 people, as this was fair to allow others to be able to book their time with us as well. I sincerely thank you for visiting us and we will listen to what you say in your review and make all the relevant improvements, because our priority is to provide every customer with a professional service, amazing food and drinks, in a friendly and safe atmosphere.

My new favourite local!
A beautiful boutique hotel and gastropub in the heart of St John's Wood. From the moment you walk in you are taken care of by their amazing staff who are courteous and professional throughout the evening; they take pride in their customer service. It is hard not to visit again and again with amazing food and drinks. From their light bites to their dessesrts, you can't help wanting to try everything on their menu. Cocktails are named quaintly and are scrumptious! Speak to the bar manager and he will know what to serve you if you're stuck for choice! Needless to say, this little gem is an all-rounder! Thank you Kristijan, Kier and everyone for looking after me and my friends!

Booked for Sunday lunch and it could hardly have been better. Perfectly cooked roast beef with Yorkshire Pudding and all the trimmings, crisp roast potatoes and vegetables to match. My partner had delicious bread and butter pudding while I settled for a well presented Ice Cream with fruit. Staff couldn't have been more attentive throughout and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We'll be back!

Went in to shelter from the rain. Turns out that this place produces amazing cocktails (at a really great price), produces good-looking food (we didn't have any but it looked and smelt great), has live music and allows well-behaved pooches.

Would whole-heartedly recommend and will absolutely be visiting again.

It's not often people take the time to leave a positive comment. For me this was a must as my experience of this venue was a dream from start to finish. When we arrived the staff were very genuine and attentive. We were taking through the usual Covid 19 procedure and shown to our table. There was a new menu released a few days prior to our arrival which had something for everyone. We decided on the chicken escallop and the prawn linguini (both were fantastic). To our joy we had come on the quiz night, run safely and in great spirit, we got to see how this venue has become the heart of this community. We overheard another table mention that there were 5 rooms upstairs to rent. After asking the manager on duty, we were shown two of the rooms. All newly decorated with fantastic facilities, we will be booking a weekend stay here in December and look forward to seeing everyone again. We didn't do very well in the quiz but it was great to be part of. Thank you from my partner an I for a great night.

The New Inn is a brilliant place for a meal or a drink. The service is always spot on; during a recent visit, Nabila took fantastic care of our party and made sure that we had a great time. The rest of the staff is equally attentive and welcomes us warmly every time we're there. The food is great and there are always a variety of fun drink specials and events in the pub. It's an excellent spot for any occasion and I recommend it highly.
