I was in London to visit my daughter who is studying abroad there this summer. I found this hotel through my AmEx benefits, then looked it up on trip advisor b/c I had never heard of it. I basically booked it based on the reviews on Trip Advisor, and, let me assure you, that they are spot on!!!!! This little gem was such a find!!! The location is perfect!!!! I loved being right next to Hyde park (which is HUGE) and in the nice neighborhood. It is a busy area but feels much less so than the other popular areas like the Piccadilly Circus area. What truly sets this hotel apart from others is the genuine, kind and amazing staff!!!! I was there for 6 days and every person that I encountered could not have been more kind and helpful to me! Upon arrival to London, my driver was late b/c of a strike and traffic was crazy that day. Both the driver and the hotel called me several times — they were so mortified that I had to wait!!! I did not mind, I get it — in big cities these things happen. Then at my arrival to the hotel, the concierge, Donato, apologized again and they discounted my bill — without me asking. Who does that these days? Also at check in, I heard people discussing the Royal Ascot race. I LOVE horse racing and I did not realize that the race was still going on while I was there. I asked Donato to see if he could possibly get two tickets for my daughter and me. (That is a really big ask 😳— two days prior to the ending weekend of the races!!!!!). He found them and we had amazing seating as well!!! He also arranged our perfect transportation - of course!!! The Ascot was truly the highlight of our trip. I asked for the sweet driver, Goran, that had picked me up from the airport — and insisted on buying me a tea b/c of being late! Goran made sure we went to the Ascot in style (since we are Americans - we were definitely going in blind!!!😂) — he had us in a Range Rover. He dropped us off and waited on us all day until after the races were done. Every staff member at this hotel was like Donato and Goran — just went out of their way to make my stay amazing! I would 100 percent recommend this little gem and I will most certainly be back!!!! My daughter is thinking of going to grad school now in London b/c she is enjoying it so much! If that is the case then I Hotel Baglioni may become my second home for a bit—- and know that I would be well taken care of!!!😍…
I would like to say I don’t write many, if any reviews (this might be only my second review ever) but I felt compelled to talk about our experience. We stayed here with my wife on 10/11th June 2022 having been referred by amex concierge and escaped our 5 children. We stayed in room 409 for two nights an executive junior suite and paid an average of £850 a night plus service charge, so hopefully this sets a reasonable expectation Things to note (wish i’d have taken pictures of these but didnt) - [ ] paint peeling around door frames (they had been painted black) along with the floor - [ ] cracked plaster around some of plug sockets - [ ] water stain above shower - [ ] cracker plaster around light figment in shower ceiling, not a great place for steam to go not sure if safe either. - [ ] Upon arrival there were nuts in the room, my wife is severally allergic to them (we asked for them to be removed) the person showing us around could have removed them (if they weren’t allergic), however it took a few hours for them to be removed. She carries two epipens with her at all times. - [ ] I asked for an ironing board to be put in our room whilst at diner which they duly did along with an iron - i used this ironing board the following day to find out it was extremely unstable as they legs were bent and dangerous to use. - [ ] we called reception for some earl grey tea bags, they said they would look into it and come back to us. They never called back, we later went out and bought some from a local marks and spencer. - [ ] I called reception and asked for some cuff links (as i had forgotten mine) i am sure on their website i read that they had toiletries, earplugs and charges etc for those who had forgotten. This time they did call me back to tell me they didn’t have any. fair enough, my mistake, I just thought for a hotel of this class they might have some spare, even if just a cheap set.. The major things. - [ ] First night, the fire alarm went off at 1:30am, woke us both up with hearts racing as you would expect (fire alarm literally above the bed) called reception, they told my wife it’s just gone off and we don’t know what caused it but stay in bed we are investigating. We settled back down again and it went off again 15 minutes later. This time as we then thought that’s an intermittent alarm we had better evacuate. When we got down there the poor guy on the front desk told us it was him and one other guy and they were investigating it but they couldn’t find a fire. (they were both stood at the front desk?!?) not sure how they were investigating it from the front desk. Too shook up to go back to bed and unsure of whether there was a fire or not we went outside to walk around the perimeter. After 45mins walking round at 2.30am and no mass evacuation, we decided to try go back to sleep. Unsuccessfully as with no reassurance as to why the fire alarm went off we were on edge. - [ ] The morning after the fire alarm, we were asked how we were. We both answered tired. To which the gentleman on shift said ‘oh fine’.- perhaps the breakfast staff might have been briefed on last nights event for guests staying at the hotel. No empathy was shown by any of the staff when it was a brought up later on, no apologies, and really silly explanations were given as to why it went off (the steam from the shower! if that was the case it would often be going off). - it wasn’t until the poor night shift bloke came on later that he told us the real reason it went off (someone had fraudulently set it off twice) and apologised to us for the lack of sleep. we understand that these things do happen, but it was the lack of empathy and the attitude of the staff members which we had an issue with. - [ ] sunday morning. we got a 7am wake up call we didn’t order! we didn’t need to check out until 4pm!!! So another rude awakening. We left this hotel with less sleep then we would have had at home with our 5 kids!!! Honestly, we’ve stayed at many hotels in London but this hotel was lacking and not the 5* hotel we were expecting. Positives were:- - [ ] gym you could use at our leisure however small. - [ ] breakfast was a lovely spread, however i would like to ask that you label everything with allergy warnings, as my wife with a nut allergy could easily have picked up something she was allergic to as nothing was labelled and some things definitely had nuts on them. - [ ] the restaurant in the evening was lovely. the staff were friendly, funny and very accommodating, the food is divine! So we would recommend the food. Have attached photos of diner as that was the only positive bit. We won’t be staying again and we don’t recommend this hotel.…
I stay ay The Baglioni everytime I visit London. They are consistently outstanding in every way. The staff is always pleasant and professional. The location of the hotel couldn't be better. It has easy to Covent Gardens, Harrod's and many popular spots without being in the heart of these areas. I think I'd go to London just to stay at The Baglioni!
From start to finish exceptional service beautiful hotel great staff - thank you for making our stay so special - room lovely overlooking the park - breakfast really enjoyable - staff really attentive throughout our visit - can’t recommend highly enough if you are looking for a 5 star intimate hotel this is the place to book
Discovered this hotel by accident as one of the other top London hotels let us down at the last minute. Everything about this hotel was great. We checked in with no queue and were taken to a very nice room. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Will definitely make this our go to London hotel from now on
This was a classic, elegant hotel with an Italian focus in many aspects. The service from the entry to checkin to the restaurant and bar was excellent. The location is fantastic, right across from the park and down the street from the Royal Albert Hall. The rooms are spacious, elegantly furnished with a comfortable bed, and well organized bathroom. The breakfast, which was included in the room charges, was excellent with a healthy buffet accompanied by a short list of hot egg dishes from the kitchen. This is a moderately expensive hotel but professionally run. I would happily stay there again.
In the middle of London lies a charming Italian hotel and restaurant that is second to none in service. I have stayed in some fine hotels in London ( The Savoy, Royal Horseguards) but The Baglioni far exceeded them in service. I didn’t know what to expect as I had not heard of this hotel before but the experience was just grand. It isn’t a large hotel but it is in a great location. Our room looked out over Hyde Park and is just five minutes from Royal Albert Hall. If you are headed to London and are looking for something different and not so “stiff” then give the Baglioni a try. I will most definitely stay with them again. We were there on Derby Day (Kentucky Derby) and my wife is from Kentucky so we were somewhat disappointed that we would not be able to watch the race and enjoy a Mint Julep; however, James at the bar knew the drink and prepared us one and we both agree that it was as good as any we had stateside. I think you will love this place if you decide to stay with them…
Amazing service ,with very comfortable and clean room. The staff were polite and provided an excellent service. I will 100% go back to this lovely hotel which is also situated in a very nice location in center of London , In front of Hyde Park. We just enjoyed our stay in Baglioni. Thank you all at Baglioni Hotel for their excellent Service
