I stayed for 2 weeks on business and it's very convient to London City and some of the major tourist landmarks. The room was large, clean and comfortable. However you are situated next to a major road and even the double insulated windows can't fully take away from the noise and activity outside. Also, the hotel is situated next to... More

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza. The highlight of the stay was the fantastic service provided by the concierge. In particular a guy by the name of Lee. Lee went over and above the call of duty and is a testament to the hotel. He along with others were courteous, professional and only too willing to... More

Just back from a stay in London and chose this hotel due to its close proximity to attractions. Lovely hotel. Stayed in family suite at dinner, b & b rate. Suite lovely, breakfast outstanding but dinner was bizarre. Limited to 3 options and when chose told numerous things weren't available, same for the 2nd night. Made us feel a bit... More

Check in slow but helpful staff. Rooms were nice enough, some areas looking a little tired. Had a great night sleep, very quiet for location. The hotel location is great for Blackfriars Interchange, St Pauls, Southbank and river cruises etc. Minor criticism would be breakfast room gets busy and slightly awkward, the tables on window are all under air con... Spent just the 1 night in July. Everything in the room was as expected for a Crowne Plaza. All the fixture were new, room was nicely made up. All the staff we met were professional. The stay had no dramas at all, arrived and checked out with the minimum of fuss. I work often work in London, but this was... More

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is situated right across the road from Blackfriars station and is walking distance to the South Bank and all its attractions. The service we received on our arrival was disorganised and clumsy. We waited a while to be spoken to and then they had the wrong booking details. The room... More

I stayed at this City of London hotel for 1 night for business. However, I know the area really well having lived almost next door until a number of years ago. Check in was good and my corner junior suite on the club floor was well appointed, if rather old and 90's. The positives: 1. The location is excellent 2.... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of August . There were 3 of us in a family room and we could not fault any part of our stay. Rooms were spotless , staff were really friendly and the location was fab! We would not hesitate to stay again! (Hopefully soon).

Stayed here for a night before leaving London and can't fault the hotel. The guest relations manager was very pleasant and provided an upgrade on arrival. Room was very clean and well appointed. Also had breakfast at the chinese cricket club restaurant and it was fine (not over the top, but had everything I wanted). Service was very good. Would... More

I was so happy to arrive at this hotel! From the outside, the facade is a beautiful old building, but the inside was modern, bright, and lovely. From the moment we walked in, the woman at the desk was warm, clever, and seemed excited for us to be in London. Our room as fantastic! In addition to the large room,... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
