We stayed here for three nights in June 2016 while visiting family. We were in a room in the original part of the hotel rather than the extension, in a large front facing room with high ceilings, two large windows and a small but adequate bathroom. The breakfasts were buffet style with the choice of cereas or cooked or the... More

Initial concerns but unfounded. If you accept it for what it is you will be fine. All the staff we met could not have been more polite and helpful. Parking was problematic, however manager ,receptionist and porter had us sorted in a short time. Advise anyone to have details of public parking areas available to them before travelling. No lift... This is an old hotel but is quite charming. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was a bonus but don't leave it late as places are limited. We had a suite which we shared with our son and girlfriend. There wasn't a door between our rooms, so you need to be very friendly! There wasn't air conditioning but... More

Very friendly service great breakfast lovely location. Blackheth is like a village in London on the edge of Greenwich wich is on the 0 meridian and is the centre of the world and the home of maritime navigation.

Fantastic location - short walk across the Green to Greenwich Park with great views; very easy access to London city. Clean, comfortable bedroom. Bathroom small but did the job; toiletries included. Very nice bar and lounge. Breakfast very good - saw some people take breakfast outside into nice garden area. Helpful staff. Small drawback - parking space is very limited.... More

Great staff, always friendly, always there to advise and help. We need a venue for an impromptu family gathering and without any fuss they set up tables in the garden for us and gave us an excellent meal.

This hotel is about 10 minutes drive from London City Airport/Canary Wharf and close to Greenwich. It is located close to Greenwich Park and offers a wide room view over the park. It is also close to a small village with some shops and a nice variety of restaurants. The hotel and the rooms might be a bit outdated. To... More

This is my third stay at the Clarendon. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good and the hotel's garden is a great place to chill with friends on a summer's afternoon. Only disappointment was the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom which made for uncomfortable temperatures in the recent heatwave.

Very pleasant staff, rooms look like something from the 70s with fans on the wall for air conditioning but very clean. Overall a fair value hotel, with a very traditional layout unspectacular but decent. If refurbished being only 30 mins from central London - they could do well.

Dear Ed P - Thank you for your review. being a Georgian building we keep the hotel traditional, we have also been busy refurbishing our rooms and public areas with many completed now. Alas no conditioning, which in the hot weather makes our rooms hot. Thank you for your comments regarding our staff More

When we arrived we were asked to pay up front for the room. I found this slightly strange as even Premier Inn dosen't perform this practice. It made us feel as if we were going to do a runner! The room we were allocated was at the front of the building up on the 3rd floor attic space. The room... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
