The Crown London Hotel presents a mixed bag for visitors, with some guests praising its inviting atmosphere and stylish mix of decor. However, reviewers have called out inconsistencies, particularly regarding amenities, which range from clean and well-equipped to lacking basic essentials. While service can be friendly and attentive, it is often described as inconsistent.
The hotel's location splits opinion, suiting those looking for proximity to certain attractions but disappointing those who find it remote. Rooms generally receive criticism for being outdated and poorly maintained, despite being clean for some.

One night in this hotel located northwest of the center, 40 minutes from Piccadilly Circus by metro (allow 15 minutes on foot to the first station). The welcome is simple but nevertheless effective. The rooms are located in a building adjoining the red brick one shown in the photos. Nevertheless, we can take advantage of its architecture for meals and reception. We had a room located on the 1st floor, one level below the reception. The room is simple but clean, all the equipment works. So, certainly in places it could be refreshed BUT if we look at the price paid for a night with 2 breakfasts or 115 pounds... it would be unfair to ask for perfection! The breakfast is varied and plentiful, it is a buffet service. Fans of English cuisine will be delighted, as will traditional ones. In short, I recommend!

Great big room, clean. Air con was good. Room has shampoo and conditioner in mini sizes and then shower gel attached to the wall. Bed was comfy and not too hard. Pleasant stay overall.
Parking is £19.95 for 24 hours which is a fortune, and I had to download the NCP app to pay for it. The breakfast is an average hotel breakfast, the website makes it seem as though you can order eggs, maybe you can but no one even seated me so I didn't ask. Also, why is the music at breakfast old school jazz? Strange.
I booked this hotel through Click Travel for work as it showed it has a pool, it does have a pool but hotel guests can't use it which I find bizarre. Even if it was just open any certain hours when there's no swimming lessons on.
I didn't eat in the restaurant, I ordered in which was easy to do on Deliveroo and the staff were really helpful in lending me a fork.

As me and my mom were going to an NCT Dream concert for my 21st, we picked a fairly close hotel to stay at (although it was further from the Wembley Arena than Google made it out to be). Promised a 4-star experience, we were excited to go, and because this was booked very early in the year, we didn't see the poor reviews from the past couple of months. Our stay was, in short, quite terrible.
This hotel shouldn't be ranked as a 4-star anymore: mouldly and damp rooms and corridors; damaged lift buttons; rude male staff; lacking and overpriced breakfast; rumours of bed bugs; questioned about what extras we'd actually paid for; promised things like afternoon tea yet it didn't exist; lies about things like a walk-in shower; problems with the website itself; quite a dangerous area; lack of any personality in the rooms; upside-down plugs; old plugs behind pillows; damaged furniture; dodgy aerial; huge and suspicious vents angled at the bed; etc. I wouldn't come back to The Crown (or Cricklewood) again. For a 4-star, you'd expect things like a fridge, slippers, a robe, etc. There was none of that. Having a huge metal plug behind your pillow in room 561 was almost laughable - it must've been a single bed in that space beforehand. Additionally, the door didn't lock at night!
We experienced the breakfast upstairs in the pub next door. Very overpriced for the options. On arrival, a male staff member just stared at us, so we walked past and he just went "AH!", and didn't tell us what he wanted. He just vaguely pointed down to his list of people who'd paid for breakfast, so we told him that he should've just politely asked us for what he wanted, but he didn't understand us. Despite paying for breakfast, we weren't on the list (which was a common theme, as we also weren't on the list for early check-in, despite everything being confirmed over email), so he just silently let us through and went to find confirmation (we assume, he didn't speak). The female staff were lovely, and cleaned a table for us to sit at, although a couple walked past who were obviously still using this table (even if their stuff was empty and gone, the staff told us to sit there), and were a bit angry. We felt quite uncomfortable even being in there, and left only a few minutes after arrival. £22 for two glasses of apple juice and one croissant was ridiculous, and this was on offer. It's a buffet style, but the food wasn't worth picking up extra - it was hardly warm. During our stay, we just went hungry when in Cricklewood - we had no lunch or dinner here, and didn't feel welcome to. When asking the staff what we could eat after we'd arrived (around 2pm), she just said "ah, go elsewhere. We don't really have anything". Unfortunately, we couldn't just go to Wembley Park, as we'd have to get an Uber, and on the morning of leaving, we simply didn't have the time for that. There's nothing easy and local to grab food from, so be prepared to feel peckish for your stay.
Overall, this hotel isn't worth staying at. Stay at Wembley Park if you're going for a concert, as it's lovely. Cricklewood, however, leaves a sour taste in your mouth, and The Crown only pushes that further.

I booked this hotel for 2 nights because I was going to see the Eras Tour (incredible show btw!) however this hotel was extremely lacking. For starters my room had no fridge, no soap or amenities for showering, the sink plug hole didn't release so the sink remained full of dirty water each time I used it. My window didn't fully close because the handle was broken which made sleeping difficult with all the cars whizzing by.
I did raise complaints to a girl at reception and she noted it but nothing came of it, in the dining area some staff were nice and efficient, however it's clear some staff don't understand English and just looked puzzled when I asked a simple question, even repeating it back to me but still sounding confused so they did hear me but just didn't understand the language and had to get another member of staff and bring them to attend me instead.
All of this for a 4 star hotel is unacceptable to me, I've been to Premier Inn's more professional and higher quality than this. I would give this review a 1 star but the included breakfast was pretty decent.
Also you can use the phone at reception to book taxi's however they only accept cash, which is very strange since other taxis I used in London besides those specific ones all accepted card payments.
I hope I never have to return here.

I stayed here 13 years ago when it was fresh and well cared for. I booked with my family for one night to show the kids where I stayed. Sadly the first room we were shown was stuffy and hot, when I inquired I was told the central aircon wasn’t functioning and they moved me.
I went looking for the new room but the keycard didn’t work, then I was given a new keycard with a different room number (3 new room number at this stage) when I opened the room it was one bed short of what we paid for. 4th time lucky, we found this room cooler and acceptable but I did attach photos of how it’s Ill kept.
I will say, although there were many issues with the rooms, the gentleman who served me was very lovely and apologetic. He seemed rushed, yet still took the time to be kind and try to fix all the issues.
My advice, if you want to charge your fees please fix the aircon in rooms as when booking a 4 star hotel, temperature control is implied.
A bottle of mould killer is not expensive, spray all the grout in bathrooms and ensure the finer things like dirty marks, broken drawers and blinds are fixed the moment you know about it.
I’d suggest the manager and a handyman do a walk thorough and make a list.

I experienced various problems while staying here - a broken toilet that I reported 3 times and wasn't fixed, poor standard of room - small, cracked bathroom tiles, paint peeling off the wall. I had paid for a 'Deluxe triple room'. Ordered dinner with my family in the restaurant and my main wasn't actually put through so I had nothing to eat. Everyone I spoke to was very nice but no actual action to resolve anything. After asking to speak to a general manager he moved our room so we could actually have a working toilet (this was the day after we had checked in, so wed had to use a toilet that wouldnt flush from 5pm on the Friday until almost 1pm on the Saturday). He said he would refund 1 night (this was 10 days ago). I have e mailed the hotel about 12 times to ask them to actually give me the refund, and called once and a man called Craig assured me he would sort it and call me back - that was a week ago. Extremely disappointing and ruined what should have been a special holiday. I don't usually leave reviews but feel that I really should warn people.

If you look on a map you could be forgiven for thinking the location makes it difficult to get to/from Lindon’s main visiting areas, particularly if you’ve been out for the evening. But if you use Golders Green tube station there is a bus which takes just a few minutes to get you within two minutes walk of the hotel. The hotel itself is very nice. Facilities are good, there is a var and restaurant as part of the building. Now, the restaurant, or at least the room behind the bat was a let down. We ate there very early afternoon and it was clear nit many had been there before us. But the room had not been cleaned properly with clear evidence of food not being cleaned from the floor. Attention to detail was lacking. This was a shame, because other than that, it was a great place to stay. The rooms were faily standard. Nothing exceptional, but clean, comfortable snd easy to get around the hitel. Staff were polite and professional. The you g lady we dealt with was obviously bew, but was great at her job. As was everybody we encountered. We arrived by rail, but if you drive it will be worth searching for somewhere else to park. Unless you get a discount for being a guest, it looks quite expensive. Breakfast was nice. Not as big a selection as you might find elsewhere, but space was at a premium and it was good quality. I do think the price point was a little on the top side, given the location. But We will still return, based purely on location, ease of transport and the staff.

My recent stay at the Crown Hotel is marred by an unfortunate experience with the customer service. Despite paying for three breakfasts at check-in, when we arrived at the restaurant the next morning, our names were not on the list. We were asked to wait, which was embarrassing as it happened in front of other guests.
After an uncomfortable wait, our names were still not found. We had to request the manager, who finally confirmed that we had indeed paid for the three days. His response was dismissive, simply stating we could have breakfast without any attempt to rectify the inconvenience we experienced.
When we asked what to expect next, he said he would review and get back to us, but we received no follow-up. We inquired again at the front desk, only to be met with silence and no resolution.
To add to the frustration, our room lacked basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. I have never experienced such poor service and lack of attention to detail in my whole life.
People should not waste their money and ruin their trip by staying at this hotel. I hope this feedback reaches Craig Cox, the General Manager, as this level of service is unacceptable and detracts significantly from the overall experience of staying at your hotel.

Hello Melody, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your visit to London. We appreciate your feedback and firstly our sincere apologies that such a simple request for a breakfast reservation was handled incorrectly. Please be assured this is not the usual at the hotel and we are disappointed that the first manager you had spoken with on day one did not ensure this was not rectified for your breakfast on day two. Again Melody we sincerely apologise for getting it wrong on this occasion, it was a genuine human error. We hope you enjoyed all other elements of your stay. Best wishes, Craig

I booked this hotel as a 'Mystery Deal' on a popular comparison site for a work trip, and when I found out this was my hotel - I was skeptical, firstly due to some negative reviews I'd read and secondly due to the location being quite a way out of central London. I was greeted with a warm welcome and smile by reception staff when I arrived, and my room was a little tired, but perfectly clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. I enjoyed my time here and I would stay again. The nearby ThamesLink makes it easy for travelling to central London (St Pancras in 12 minutes) and the Jubilee Line is accessible too, with the underground station just a short drive away.
