It was pretty good experience, I just walked to the wrong one first which was a bit annoying carrying all my things as well. The staff were really nice but I booked through booking.com which was a bit of a hassle for them because of the amount of emails. There was handy crates under the bunk beds for you to... More

The rooms are clean, so is the bathroom, at least in the girls section I was in. The boys side was a bit more smelly.... very good lication. A lot of restaurants around fitting every budget. Very close and easy access to most must see atractions. Breakfest was ok, but took advantage of the close proximity to the burough market... More

The bed has AC power plug, 2x USB and light plus a cage under the bed to store your valuables. Roommates were considerate at all times, turning the lights off around 11PM, trying not to make too much noise, etc... The common area is quite big and very clean. The bars are great with cheap pints but very crowded during... More

Staff are super friendly. First night receptionists held a barbecue and were very social and accomodating. Met the best people assisted by great rooftop area where you can drink and smoke. Free laundry facilities. Only issue, not much of a kitchen area.

I booked a double room online for me and my girlfriend and have been given bunks which is not cool at all . Only one towel so asked for another and was told they have no more very frustrating as we didn't think you need to bring your own towels.

This hostel was very very nice. The staff was very friendly helped me plan all my routes to get to attractions, restaurants and how to use the tube. The rooms were large, spacious and clean. The whole facility was very clean especially the washrooms. The downstairs bar was fun and made it easy to meet people. The "hangout room" was large and had lots of... The hostel have some friendly staffs and i love the buffet breakfast which includes cereals, muesli type, fruit juice, ham and cheese sandwiches and slices of oranges. Only thing is it could get noisy at night when your bed is facing the street the windows are not noise resistant!but overall it was good!well maintained and the main thing is my... More

I've stayed at this hostel before and last time found the staff very friendly, at reception and the bar. However I found the staff at reception far less friendly this time. They seemed nearly annoyed to do their job and when they were doing something they did it quite slowly, even when many people were waiting. This and a few... More

Found this little gem in Hostelworld as it was the least expensive in the city. We original intended to stay for only 1 night.m, but after falling in love with the location and the environment we decided to stay 3 nights. The average nightly rate ($20). The location is in the middle of everything and the breakfast is actually good!!... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
