Arrived following my online booking mid afternoon on Friday 5th July 2019. Was greeted very gruffly by a disinterested older woman behind the desk. She eventually found my booking, however when it came to paying there was an issue with the card machine and my payment could not be taken. I tried a second card which also did not work. The machine was indicating ‘ Declined’ literally as soon as I put the card in, there was no opportunity to even enter a pin. The woman was apparently terrified of the machine and would not let me try another card as her job could be on the line. I would say it is more likely her surly attitude. The only advice or help that she could offer me in a very gruff manner was to visit a cashpoint down the road. I declined this offer as I had just travelled quite some way and was not inclined to do this at that point. The woman spoke to the proprietor of the business who stated in no uncertain terms what she thought of the situation. So I left the property and travelled a short distance away to a travelodge which was infinitely preferable. I later received a message from the establishment indicating that I was ‘Lying’ ( as they no doubt will very predictably do as a response on here- watch out for their tone to this message if they do reply) and they spelt my surname wrong in this correspondence which just about sums them up. Let’s just say Fawlty Towers is the Ritz to this place. Avoid.

We found this place after a mess up with a hotel from a well known chain of hotels. We received a really nice and friendly welcome and were shown to a very nice room with a very comfy bed (just like home). The bathroom was a little small but it was more than adequate for what we needed and was very clean. Breakfast was nice in a very nice breakfast room and there was plenty of choice. The service was both polite and friendly. We both had a full English, done to our liking, which was lovely and, with other things to eat and drink, set us up nicely for a day in London. We stayed two nights and had no complaints at all. There is good off road parking at the front and it also close to local shops and eating places. We will definitely stay here again.

Poorly kept room with no temperature control. Uncomfortable bed. Too hot to sleep despite the windows wide open. Shower dripping which wasn’t enough to cleanse your body. One of our worst stays. Won’t be booking it again.

Lovely staff and cooked breakfast very fresh. Rooms spacious but lights a little dim. Airy and pleasant with tea and coffee in the rooms and TV. Bed a little soft for my back and but well worth being close to the tube and restaurants. Very homely feel.
