We've stayed in a few dud hotels around Notting Hill and Paddington in our time, so this time we booked an apartment. We were pleasantly surprised by the size on the room for this location in London. The bed was comfortable, the room was warm, the facilities were clean and the internet was super fast! The kitchen had a cutlery...

Visited recently for a family city break. Expected studio fit for 4 people but was put into a room no bigger than a hotel room with a sofa bed, small double with a kitchenette and table squeezed in. Decor was modern but room smelled. I suppose with no decent ventilation, the cooking smells hang around. It was ok and suited...

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious and always very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. As a hidden bonus, our room was provided with a free cellphone that had free calling and free data that we were able to bring with us on our trip. It was really nice we could stay connected. I would definitely...

Stayed here a few weeks ago and wish I could have stayed longer.! Got there very early as our plane was a redeye from Raleigh NC. Right away they took our baggage and stored it so we could start our exploration of London. When we got back later that day we were quickly sent to our 2 bedroom apartment with...

I stayed here for 3 weeks as I was on a work assignment/training. My room was like a small condo - just like home. They have laundry service and breakfast available. There are other meals available - and only a 2 minute walk to many restaurants. As I was on an extended stay I cooked almost every night in my...

4 nights spent on 5th floor corner apartment overlooking the park in a twin 2x king single apartment. Room 508 is a bit of a hike with 4th floor lift then one set of stairs (porters offered to carry luggage). Yes very much a rabbit warren but nice and quiet. Pros: House keeping was excellent. Great insulated rooms no need...

The location is fantastic and for the rate you pay (especially if you book early) then it is a great deal. That said, we were not impressed with our room nor the amenities. We knew we would all be sleeping in one room, but the pictures I viewed (on multiple sites) suggested that the rooms would be of generous size....

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London. ... more   less
