I stayed at the Chamberlain Hotel by Tower Bridge with my partner for three nights last week and have to say this was one of the best London hotels I've stayed in. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do and whilst it is in the heart of the business district we were still within walking distances from...

We stayed here for one night, 2 rooms, for my Brother's birthday. The reception upon finding out it was a birthday upgraded us and promptly delivered a portion of cake for the birthday boy. The Hotel is old and some of the carpets are wearing a bit thin on the stairs but the rooms are clean, the bathroom facilities are...

We spent five most enjoyable days at the Chamberlain, chosen initially for the convenience of the central location and on arrival realised that we had stumbled upon a find of the decade. Great Breakfasts, superbly set out, plenty of room between tables. The rooms that we were allocated following an unexpected upgrade can only be described a super, Well planned,...

Stayed in a hotel up the road that only had a bland cafe lounge on its ground floor. Chose to get out to relax and called in here. Although it's an hotel itself it doubles well as a pleasant welcoming and easy going pub with well kept ales.

Dear Jannerbloke. I am always thankful for those people that take the time to review us as a food or drink business in its own right, the tripadvisor platform is not exclusive for hotel guests. My sister-in-law found this hotel and what a find. The staff are really friendly and efficient, especially Rebecca, and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely room, very thoughtful touches, including complimentary bottle of Fullers Pride, a proper coffee machine in the room and real milk in the fridge, bliss. Staff very helpful, well presented pub on site with reasonable prices and a good range of Fullers beers. If you're staying in London overnight, especially for the city area, you'd find this hard to beat.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
