A lovely hotel, I’d definitely recommend. Situated close to the Tower of London with a choice of tube stations nearby, it was a great location away from the crowds. We received a warm welcome on arrival and headed to our room which was well presented and a decent size. We stayed at the hotel for dinner which was amazing! Although the wine was a little pricey at £11 a glass (were from the north) Breakfast was great too with continental choice as well as a cooked to order course. The staff were all lovely friendly and helpful, they’re an asset to this fabulous hotel. I chose this hotel because it was within walking distance to a Lego exhibition and it was very competitively priced. It offered fantastic value for money and we felt we were staying in a far more expensive establishment. Thanks so much for a lovely stay. If we’re ever back in the area we’ll be back.

So after deliberating which hotel to stay in in London, as many of them are above my pay rice range, I came across the chamberlain a stones throw from Fenchurch street station, and at a price I could afford, we checked in at 3 pm Saturday to a friendly receptionist went to our room to put our bags in, room on first impression was good size, nice arrange of tea and coffees and speciality coffees and a machine, a good size bed (very comfortable) a lovely bathroom, with a bath, ok so the room is slightly tired if u wanted to be picky but it certainly did not bother us, as it was very clean and just what we wanted, we got a drinks voucher for the bar, but only for one drink ? Which seemed a bit strange ? But nice touch nevertheless, we later came back for a night cap after a long afternoon/evening in their bar, the age group in the bar was about 40/50 s and the music was for 18/24 year olds ? It certainly wasn’t for their clientele which is the only thing I could say let it down, Breakfast was very nice, we got taken to our table, and u can choose a great range of teas and coffees, u could choose from a good range of cereals, yoghurts, fruits croissant, and toast,( good toaster for once) tiptree jams etc, marmite, there really was a big choice, and u could choose from fried breakfast, and so many more options, the breakfast was lovely I could not find fault with it, in my opinion best for value for money, a warm welcoming hotel, in great location, comfortable beds, good food, little extras in the rooms,(all toiletries) what more could u want !!!!!!!

We stayed in London for four days and used the Chamberlain as our home base. The room is very comfortable (we had a rooftop room, 503) and spacious. The room is stocked with tea, coffee, and cookies and we were surprised to have real milk in the mini-fridge rather than dry packets of cream substitute. It felt very luxurious. We didn't spend much time in the room, but we did enjoy all the amenities they offered. In particular, their complimentary breakfast menu was outstanding. So many choices, fresh, and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised and very grateful to have been made a tasty bag lunch to take with us in lieu of breakfast since we were checking out so early to catch our flight. The Chamberlain will take good care of you!

Hotel is really close to Tower Hill and Aldgate tube station so very easy for getting about. It is decorated very nicely and the rooms are beautiful. Our room was a decent size, bed was large (King size) and the room had good amenities: toiletries included/nespresso machine/kettle/hair dryer/iron etc. Mini fridge included also with bottled water and milk (UHT milk though which was a shame).
Room was also very quiet and we weren't disturbed by any noise, and the hotel has lifts so easy to get around with luggage.
Only 2 things which could have been improved: the site said that there should have been bath robes but I don't think our room had any. Also the room was a little cold and we couldn't figure out how to use the thermostat for heating- I think this only controls air conditioning.
Extra special bits: we told the hotel that we were staying for our anniversary, and they decorated the room with balloons and rose petals, which was a really lovely touch. Also breakfast was absolutely fantastic- choice of continental breakfast plus you can order a hot breakfast. We both had a full english, and the continental buffet was generous and really good quality.
Would definitely return to this hotel, we were very impressed.

We spent a lot of time trying to find a suitable London hotel and kept changing our minds. I think it would have been better had we changed it one more time.
We booked the Chamberlain due to its location, which was fine, but also because it was apparently over a traditional English pub. As our family travelling with us had never been to England before, they were excited by this. Unfortunately, it was far from a traditional pub, and simply a hotel bar, with no atmosphere whatsoever.
Our in-laws chose a deluxe king room and we chose a room with a terrace on the top floor, which was considerably more expensive. The view was nothing much, but that was fine, but the room was terribly small and dark. Our in-laws room was much larger than ours, but still incredibly dark. I went to reception to see if they had a larger terrace room, but no, even though the room was billed as a luxury room, she explained that the space of the terrace had been taken from the room.
As we were staying almost a week the lack of space was a disappointment, but there was nothing to be done as all other rooms were fully booked.
We ate dinner in the “pub” the first evening and breakfast was included each morning. While the food was okay, a buffet for the continental part and a hot meal cooked to order, the service was appalling. It seemed like they had grabbed a few passersby from the street and told them to start serving. Apart from the Manager no-one could answer any questions about the menu and it was terribly slow.
The room was so very dark, that it was impossible to put on makeup or for my husband to shave. At least the terrace was a spot where we could take a mirror and get some light.
I don’t recommend the Chamberlain Hotel, I am sure there are many better London hotels.

Located near the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Very close to Aldgate underground and Liverpool Street underground station. Clean and cozy rooms with very comfy beds with clean sheets. Bathrooms might need some refresh but it's not a disadvantage as they are very hygienic. In my room there was a separate bathtub and shower cabin. Free soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower cap. In the room there is an electric kettle and coffee machine with capsules, a small selection of teas, coffees, and hot chocolate. Breakfast is semi open buffet: you can make toast, select cold cuts, cheese (huge thank you for vegan cheese), marmalade and jam, Vegemite, tea and coffee. At the table you will find menu with variety of options to select your breakfast - try toast with poached egg and avocado or full English breakfast . Very tasty. Highly recommend for business trips.

The Chamberlain is one of Fuller's brewery hotels and provides really good quality accommodation in the city at an excellent price. It is minutes away from Aldgate tube station and then you are minutes away from the Tower of London etc The decor in the room and the public areas is lovely and the extra little touches (coffee machine and mini fridge in the room, beautiful toiletries in the bathroom) were unexpected. The shower was by far the best I've had in a hotel for quite some time and bath sheets were provided, not the miserable little towels that are more usual. The bed was comfy and the room very quiet. The breakfast offer was very good, plenty of choice and served in the restaurant by the bar. Hotel guests get 15% discount on drinks and food in the pub. We were very impressed with the Chamberlain Hotel and all the members of staff that we encountered and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality, well situated but reasonably priced hotel.

So we booked this hotel for one night. We have stayed in a lot of hotels across London but the welcome we got here was amazing in every way. They were very happy and gave us an in depth detail of everything about the hotel. The room is very good and spacious, clean and good facilities with a bath as well as a shower. There is a bus stop 60 yards up the road with buses that will get you everywhere you need to get to across London. There is a tube station about a 4 min walk if you would rather use the underground. It doesn't matter what time you get back to the hotel as there is a scanner on the wall that you can use your room key for. The bed is so comfortable, it made me question if I need to replace my mattress at home 😂. So we went for breakfast and what a choice there is . We had a full English, which was cooked to perfection and I am a fussy eater. Everything is so clean and looked after. They also have a lovely bar which has a large TV for watching sports. When we arrived we were given a free drink for the bar. The drink was just for one person even tho there are two of us , but they didn't even have to do that. I asked for a wine and they said would you like a large one , so they are not tight on the free drinks. Highly recommend this hotel and I don't ever leave reviews but felt I had to. Also just thought I would mention there is lots to do around the hotel with bars, restaurants and Tesco supermarket.

Great value hotel with lovey, helpful staff. We arrived in London pretty early so headed to the hotel to see if they would store out bags until check-in time so we could start sightseeing. The staff member on reception not only allowed us to check-in early but he also gave us a free room upgrade. The bed in our room was absolutely huge and so comfortable. The room has all the amenities you could need, iron, iron g board, hairdryer, kettle, safe etc. Our room also had a Nespresso machine will complementary coffee pods. The food for breakfast was delicious. You have a choice of a buffet with cereals, fruit and pastries as well as a menu with hot food options. The full English breakfast was very tasty and there was plenty on the plate. A point to bare in mind is you have to request a room clean, however, this is very straightforward and the reception staff arranged this for us on the morning we requested it. The hotel is in a great location, just a few mins walk from Aldgate and Aldgate East tube station. The Tower of London and Tower Bridge are a 5 minute walk away. Try booking direct with the hotel as you get a 20% discount. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a flying visit in to London to do some of the sights, focusing on East London and The City. We were going to book a usual budget chain hotel in the area, but stumbled across The Chamberlain Hotel at a similar price. What a good move this turned out to be! Perfectly located, within a 15 minute walk from Liverpool Street Station, it is also just 10 minutes walk to The Tower of London and Tower Bridge, 30 minutes from St.Paul’s Cathedral and 10 minutes from the starting point of the ‘Jack The Ripper’ tours. Back to the hotel, if there was a tick list for all the plus points and a list for the minus points, there would be no ticks in the minus list. The staff were very friendly and happy, the room was very we equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable, was nicely air conditioned and very quiet. The restaurant was very nice with a good atmosphere and you receive a 15% discount as hotel guests. The breakfast was superb, with a freshly cooked full English, amongst other freshly cooked offerings. A very pleasant stay indeed and would not hesitate to stay at The Chamberlain again or to recommend.

Yes, rather than go to the embankment (which will be packed) get over to Primrose Hill late afternoon, early evening.
It’s the other side of Regent’s Park, climb the slope to the viewing platform where you will have the best views of London anywhere and a fantastic panoramic view of the fireworks.
Get over by tube in the afternoon, “The Chamberlain” is just around the corner from Aldgate station somreally easy to get around the city. You can use your debit cards to travel if you don’t have Oyster cards.

"The hotel is just outside the hectic attractions. However there are a few locations around hotel that are up for sale. Not sure how it will change the landscape"
There are more places to choose from in the London area.
