We stayed at the Chamberlain for a weekend getaway while on business. The hotel was as advertised. It is a quaint little place with an attached pub & restaurant. It is the perfect place to have a base of operations when going anywhere in London. The tube is a few minutes away(we used Tower Hill) and the Tower of London...

The Chamberlain may not be in the absolute city centre but really worth the detour! Clean, very nice rooms, helpful staff and good breakfast. Close to the metro makes the location seem very close to everything!

We booked this hotel 2 days prior to our visit to London. It was very clean, friendly and the reception staff were very attentive. Our was very comfortable with everything that you'd need for a stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and the added bonus was the towelling robes and slippers that were very welcoming after a Full day sightseeing...

Dear C4980HPmartinb, I hear the phrase "little gem/hidden gem" quite a lot in reviews. It is a great term as it suggests that we have exceeded expectations and delivered an enjoyable experience for our guests. You have mentioned both the hotel itself and the staff within that have helped to make this a memorable experience. Thank you for taking the...

Receptionists were dismissive and more interested in their conversation than us checking in and on the second day there was no ask about how our stay was. There were hairs in the shower and it was lukewarm. Most annoyingly the rhythmic clunking noise outside the hotel made for a very unpleasant night sleep! It might be an idea to sort...

Dear annarD9286TT, I am very sorry to read that you did not enjoy your time with us, in fact I note from your review posting on other channels that this must have been a below expectation stay and has had an impact on your own enjoyment. As promised I will look into these areas, particularly the shower controls. However, I...

I've stayed in MANY hotels in this price range when in London on business; this is far and away the best. Lovely staff, nice and spacious (and quiet!) room. Didn't have chance to try any food, but I will on my next trip.

We stayed here a few days before Christmas Eve. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, which we loved! We had a deluxe room. It was a little tight, but most importantly it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Complimentary mini bar that was restocked every day! The coffee maker made lovely coffee. We also enjoyed the breakfast every morning...

Dear Melissa C, one of my favourite comments to read in any review is that a guest is excited about returning to the hotel. Therefore to see that you cannot wait to come back is fantastic. You have made some great observations from your stay and it is brilliant to read that the Cornish Orchard Cider was well received. We...

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
