Everything was excellent..... Rooms, dining, staff, everything. They all look out for you and ensure that that you're always ok. The hotel is in a nice location. Walking distance of the train station, the Tower of London, the Gherkin, everything...... Absolutely well placed.

We revisited this establishment at the invitation of the manager after a less than satisfactory visit earlier this year. This visit was a much better and greatly improved experience. The service was excellent, the food was much better than we had previously. The ambience and atmosphere was also very different and more enjoyable. We are grateful to the manager and... More

The location is excellent if you want to be around the Tower of London. The tube station is within a few minutes walk of the hotel. The staff from reception, bar, restaurant and housekeeping cannot do enough for you.

Enjoyed our stay enhanced by friendly staff and good bar. Only stayed one night but will stay again if in London again. Handy for most sights especially Canary Wharf etc on DLR. Rooms very comfortable but need to change coffee machines in rooms. Too temperamental!

It is indeed a very nice hotel close to the tower of London and to the river Thames. The Hotel has its own bar and we received free vouchers for drinks as the hotels main lift was under construction, this was very kind from the hotel. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The breakfast choice had a bug variety... More

Location is nice, 5 minutes from two substations, they have a nice bar, quiet in the evening, big rooms, romantic/English atmosphere, nice shower. We had to use the staff elevator, but were 'compensated' with free drinks! They can do some renovation: quite some walls/stairs/etc show decay. The floors in the hallway&stairs smell a little. Some of the staff were a... More

Had an overnight stay in rooftop room. All the staff were friendly, we did eat there and this is what let it down for us . We did complain about the food to be told the chef had been mad busy all day! Breakfast I had to send back as plate was red hot but food stone cold. Staff replaced,... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
