This was a stay whilst on business. This hotel really has adopted TfL contactless technology with the use of 'touch' for access to your room. International hotel chains, IHG, Hilton et el - take note! London, through and through! What can I say. The Chamberlain most probably is the jewel in the hotel chains crown. The room was immaculate and... More

This hotel was wonderful. Because our room wasn't quite ready when we got there we were upgraded and given two free drinks at the bar. Our booking also included a discounted price for breakfast. I had their eggs Benedict twice! Poached eggs were perfect every time. We had great interactions with everyone. The quality of the room was lovely and... More

I expected a lot from the reviews of this hotel, but I was quite let down. It was the final stop on our 21 day European vacation, it is way outside London tourist center, quite near London Tower. So we spent a lot of time commuting... First of all our flight from Basel took 7 hours... Ugh and it was... More

We stayed for four nights with the bnb rate. Rooms where comfortable and clean. The shower I wish I could take home with me. Service was excellent. We had a hot breakfast everyday and tried most of the menu and it was mouthwatering good. Access to the bar och restaurant during the day was really good to. Over all The... More

Nice rooms, clean and big shower. There is a good restaurant next door, and a lots of bars. 5 min walk and you are on tower Bridge. The staff was ok, not interfering, but friendly when you asked. A good hotel for the price. A typical English style, whit a pub next door.

This was our first time at The Chambelain Hotel. We chose this as it was conveniently located for the Minories and one of Sound Fusion Radio's regular 'We Got The Funk' nights featuring top DJ's, 6 hours of music and live PA's from great artists such as DaPaul. The Minories is almost literally across the road. It is also well... More

Some of the floors have been refurbished and they are very nice. The staff are friendly. It is not a glamorous location but the rooms are comfortable and clean. I had stayed there many months before and the elevator was broken. On my return the elevator was still out of commission. The restaurant has good service and the food is... More

Check in was efficient. Room was beautifully decorated with little noise for a stay in the city. Breakfast was tasty and the staff were very good and attentive. The bar located under the hotel is nice.

6-7 time here, but first time back in 5 years. Bit dated and not much in the Area anymore. Very close to Tower of London and Tower bridge so ok for tourists taking the London bus tour. I would not pay over 220 a night here. Elevator was broken and no sign of it being fixed soon. Might stay again... More

Dear hiltoncharlie, it is disappointing to read that having stayed here several times before that your first stay for 5 years did not live up to expectations. Having not been here myself 5 years ago I cannot vouch for what has changed in the immediate area, however I do think there are advantages to a quieter area when it comes... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
