We stayed four nights here because the hotel is strategically located. We chose a double room with private bathroom during our stay. The room was rather small in size for two adults and luggage. The room has television, writing desk and chair, tea/coffee-making facility, and wardrobe. The private bathroom has a basin, toilet, and standing hot/cold shower. Simple toiletries such as toilet paper, shampoo and soap are provided. Our room is located on the same floor as the reception counter. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth. There is a luggage storage area for guests who arrived earlier prior to check-in or after check-out. Complimentary breakfast was served in the basement. We had the same menu during our stay (orange juice, coffee, tea, bacon, sausage, baked bean and egg (eggs can be fried, scrambled or boiled). There is a public park opposite of the hotel. We walked over to enjoy the season of fall. Overall, this is a recommended place to stay.

This place put a smile on my face. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and does it very well. Staying in London for business but at my own expense, I went for a low-cost option. I was braced for shabby and depressing. But not a bit of it - the place is basic for sure ("spartan" says the manager, with a smile) but feels like it is run with pride. The room is spotlessly clean, as are the (non-ensuite) loo and shower. As they are just a short hop along the corridor, I wasn't that fussed about not having them in my own room. Breakfast - what, a cooked breakfast included in the price? Yup - OJ is immediate, tea/coffee within a minute, toast after a couple minutes more and the cooked breakfast (not a massive portion but. hey come on...) arrived quickly too, with friendly staff. The room has a kettle, sink, TV (er... with a screen about the size of my laptop!) and two single beds. The pillows aren't that great but the bed itself is really comfortable - that was a really pleasant surprise. Location is just along from King's Cross. I'm so pleased I have found this place and will definitely be back when I am doing my own thing again.

Location: Convenient in every way. Very easy to find from the King's Cross, St. Pancras station and near the British Library. Bus stops, markets, eateries, and several parks around. Hotel: Very clean and well kept for its age. Our room was not small compared to other hotels we stayed in. No elevator (If I remember correctly) and some steep and narrow staircases, especially to the dining area. The English breakfast was nice. Seating in the dining room is a bit tight but can have your turn as people leave their seats. Room: Clean and comfortable. You can rest really well. A flat-screen TV, an electric kettle, and cups. I borrowed a U.S. - Bristish Plug-in socket and a hairdryer at the reception for free. Internet access was great. Service - excellent at breakfast and at the reception.

The location is great for exploring London's landmarks. Close to metro and international train station. Easy train to Paris. The hotel is modest and typically with small rooms. The bathroom was good. Towels were changed and cleaned regularly. Breakfast is the same every morning but enough to start the day.

The location is great, a short walk to King's Cross which sends you to everywhere you'd want to check out as a tourist. Hotel is showing its age, paint peeling in places. I was trapped in the bathroom the first night when the lock broke off. Wasn't given any compensation but didn't push for it either. Bed was comfortable. Room is small but suits its purpose. You aren't in London to spend the entire time in your room. Was aware when booking of the communal shower/bathroom. Wasn't an issue. Didn't have the breakfast. For the location and price I'd stay again.
