This small hotel is perfectly situated for sightseeing in London. It is just two or three blocks from the Russell Square underground station (on the Piccadilly line straight from Heathrow Airport for six pounds) and just a few blocks from the British Museum. My single room was very small, but I didn't need anything the space for anything but sleeping,... More

The George provides great value for your travel dollar. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is helpful and courteous. There was no staff at night. Our bathrooms were small, but appeared to be recently and nicely renovated and the taps produced lots of hot water. The small sinks were the subject of great hilarity among our family... More

Very nice, reasonably priced hotel in a fabulous location in Bloosmbury. Close to Russell Square, Euston, and Euston Square stations, so you can get anywhere easily. This is an older hotel, so expect lots of stairs and tiny rooms. My room was a bit bigger than a closet, but the bed was extremely comfortable, so no complaints. It was pleasantly... More

We stayed here in May/June for 12 nights while we saw the sights of London. The George is a great little bed and breakfast located in Bloomsbury. It is but a 10 minute walk to the Russell St. Station and no more than 20 minutes walk to the Euston Station which made going virtually anywhere by tube quick and easy.... More

This is my second trip using the George. Both times have been great. We had a budget basement room with a ensuite shower. You can lightly hear the underground so if ur a light sleeper it probably isn't for you. You can also hat them prep for breakfast each morning but we were getting up anyway to ensure we had... More

We spent four nights here at the start of our trip in the UK. In typical London fashion, we expected our triple room to be a tight fit. If you're looking for room to spread out, you'll need to go somewhere else and pay a much higher price. Our room was bright, clean and simple. Front desk staff was helpful... More

Got here late (it's midnight). Met at the door by a lovely girl who at no point gave any indication of how much she would like to hurt me for checking in at this time and told me where my room was (pleased it's not on the third floor that would have killed me!) up the stairs and I can't... More

my daughter and I had to come to London on a business trip. We were shown to our room, which was in the basement number 6 right underneath the dining room!! Unfortunately we had to share the bathroom facilities with everyone else in the basement.I believe some builders stayed at the Hotel at the same time and had rooms in... More

Nice staff at a happily situated hotell in Bloomsbury. The room were good sized, clean and well equipped - apart from lacking an ensuite bathroom. I believe that's the reason for the low price. We had access to a shared bathroom, which was very nice and almost always available.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
