My wife and I are currently staying at this hotel. Yesterday morning there was no hot water to take a shower, so I took a rather unpleasant shower with cold water. My wife refused to shower with cold water. We reported the problem to the front desk manager at 6:30 AM, and went out for the day at 8:15 AM. We returned to the hotel at approximately 5:30 PM and asked the front desk manager if there was hot water. He explained that there was a problem with the hot water alarm system and that it was fixed at 10 AM. I asked for a small amount of money to compensate us for the inconvenience. He checked our room rate, (we booked directly with the hotel). He asked the amount we would want and he suggested in an asking manner 5 or 10 GBP. I told him that the amount would be fine. He told us that he would not provide any compensation and stated that he needed rooms and that if we wanted to go to another hotel, he would give us a refund for the balance of our stay. He then proceeded to go into an outrageous tirade about me taking a shower with cold water was a good thing and that he had had a cold shower this morning too. I told him that his comment was irrelevant and inappropriate. I repeated that the issue was my inconvenience and not his cold shower. He continued his outburst which I thought was incredible, inappropriate and certainly no way for a hotel front desk manager to behave with a customer. We left his ranting and went to our room. About 10 minutes later he called to apologize and offered us tea or coffee or any other beverage for free during our stay. He acted in an entirely different manner and obviously thought twice about what he ranted. This person acted in an entirely unprofessional manner and I would think twice about staying at this hotel again.

Good location, 15 minute walk to Hyde Park as we were here for the BBC Proms and wanted to be nearby, our room and hotel itself was spotlessly clean, the only issue I had was at breakfast time, and the reason being is they have this pokey little breakfast room which is clearly not big enough to accommodate steady amounts of guests coming down for breakfast, we as two people sat on the outer two seats of a four seater table as I do not wish to squashed up by the wall, but the lady working there wasn't happy with this and told me to ' please hurry up eating ' her words as we were blocking two other seats, I simply couldn't believe what I was hearing, it was Sunday morning and I just wanted a relaxing breakfast, needless to say we look left soon after, awful coffee, orange squash not juice, toast was fine, no fruit, okay for one night yes, but I wouldn't return.

Went to this hotel on a business trip. Wanted a no frills, inexpensive place to sleep. I knew the rooms were tiny but that was OK with me. I made sure it had AC before booking it. Arrive at the hotel and the room is indeed tiny. Using the toilet, the washbasin sits on your lap. But wait, where’s the AC? Went to the reception and apparently my room was not in the 90% of the rooms fitted with AC. Bit bummed but the hotel was full, so I ask for a fan and they get me a tiny one that I had to place near my bed on top of a chair to be able to get some sleep. Try another night but it’s unbearable. I complain at reception and even though they admitted not being clear in the description - I showed them my booking saying AC fitted - the only option they give me is to upgrade to a double room with AC. OK, next day I move into the room. Quite more spacious, with AC. But wait, I can’t turn it on. To do so I have to contact reception. Every time I need to turn it on or off. And the temperature is stuck in an artic 21ºC. I try to sleep with my covers on and plow through the night. The next nights I just cracked the window since the room wasn’t as unbearably hot as the first one. In essence it was the worst climatization experience in a hotel I ever had. Now for the rest of the experience: the hotel is just off Paddington’s station in a great location to explore London. Loads of great restaurants and shops nearby open extended hours. They offer breakfast but its a paltry one. Coffee, tea, milk, toast and slices of ham cut in 4 with slices of cheese cut in two. Butter and jams and the most watered down orange juice in existence and that’s it. Some days they had cake and store bought kids chocolate croissant. They also had corn flakes or bran flakes. Calling this continental breakfast is a bit of a stretch. No yoghurt, no fruit… The Wi-Fi was a bit of a pain too. Incredibly slow most of the time, and kept going on and off. Everytime it went back on you had to login again. Help was OK but overall not very friendly.

We stayed at the Olympic House Hotel back in January. We were visiting London to tour some universities, and needed a cheap, centrally located hotel. When we arrived, we realized that we had booked the hotel for the wrong days (we did three days in London and three in Paris, and we had accidentally booked both accommodations for the days that we should've been in Paris). After informing the staff of our error, they moved us to a room for the correct dates at no extra charge. A big travel mistake almost caused a lot of hassle, that was all avoided due to the staff's patience and grace. Spot on for them! Really couldn't have asked for anything more service wise. As for the hotel, it had a great location, in between Paddington Station, Hyde Park, and a few other Underground stops, surrounded by many restaurants. Our room was small, but worked for our purpose. Also, the heat worked very well and kept the room very room, which was nice when it began to snow! The bedding and carpeting appears to be dated, but for what we needed, we did not notice. We just needed an affordable place to sleep, and that's what we got. The bathroom is very modern, and the shower had good water pressure. Breakfast was light and standard. They offered hardboiled eggs, some bread, cheeses, and an assortment of juices. While it was light, I didn't expect a full meal from a hotel we paid so little for, so it was nice. We knew we would end up finding a coffee/pastry shop anyway later on in the day, so filling up at the hotel was not the concern. But, if big breakfasts are your fancy, stock up on some fruit or breakfast bars before coming here. Overall, I would (and maybe even will) stay at the Olympic House Hotel again should I return to London. I found the service to be top notch for the low price, it was very clean, and served every need we had. Definitely recommend!

We were there to see a show in Hyde Park and see sights. Great location, right next to Paddington Station. Staff was very nice. Room basic and small, but we were not there for large room. Needed to ask to get the air conditioning turned on each day. Was worth the value. Never ate breakfast, did not look interesting enough, crowed, would stay there agin
