Excellent location, right next to Gloucester Road tube station and around the corner from the Natural History Museum/Science Museum/V & A. We had a triple room with a lovely bathroom. The hotel was clean and quiet and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that breakfast was expensive but we are elsewhere.

This is the only place I will stay while in London. Why? For the location and people who work there. Special thanks to Peter, Auggie, Elvis, and Alicia! Can't wait to come back! It's a down to earth place and you do not have to be rich to stay here. The Tube station is across the road and there is... More

Staff were all friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, although there was a bit of mold in the shower. Prices were fair. Continental breakfast included toast, fruit, muffins, cheese, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, etc. Close to many museums and the tube. The hotel was under construction on the outside so often there were workers outside our window. We were overall... More

My Husband I just finished our honeymoon stopping in three cities, while in London we spent three nights at this hotel. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. elevators are incredibly small and the hotel seems quite dated.

Stayed here for 2 nights, mainly for a Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall, which is within walking distance. Convenient location near Gloucester Road underground station and small shops/cafes, also the South Kensington museums. Staff were on the whole friendly and helpful, especially the lady receptionist, and the waiter in the breakfast room. Room clean but small and shower-room... More

Location: + The hotel is well located, very close to Gloucester Road Station, Natural History Museum and 10 minutes away from Hyde Park. +There are many nice cafes and restaurants nearby. Cleanliness: + The room and the hotel was clean overall. Rooms: Stayed in a Deluxe Double Room (Room 590) - Avoid Room 590! The room was dark and small.... More

Stayed here on business a few times over the past two months. A great family run hotel with a friendly welcome on arrival. Varied rooms from single bed to family rooms. Beds were very comfortable and clean. Fresh towels every day. Continental breakfast was included in the price and full cooked breakfast was available. Attached to the hotel is an... More

My teenage daughter and I stayed for four nights. I would definitely stay there again. Pros: Can't beat the location, only a half block to the tube station and so convenient to everywhere. Also all kinds of food and grocery stores nearby. Staff was very helpful and attentive. There was a s small fridge in the room, which is really... More

The best part of this hotel is the location, which bumps up my rating. The Gloucester tube station is so convenient to/from the airport and everywhere in town. Lots of good restaurants nearby - fish and chips and breakfast was good at Garfunkel's, and an Italian place in the arcade. Kensington Palace, Hyde Park and museums are all a short... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
