Great hotel close to museums and the Albert hall all within walking distance. Friendly staff and good clean rooms. The indian restaurant attached to the hotel has some great authentic dishes in a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a tube station just across the road and plenty of shops nearby. There is a lift and you can leave your luggage... More

This hotel is situated near a tube station, with bus stop right outside and the hop on hop off bus stop is just outside the hotel as well. A laundry/drycleaning shop is just up the street. It is quite an old hotel with rooms fairly tired looking but adequate. During summer it can be pretty hot and stuffy in the... More

I have been staying regularly at the Montana over the past five years and have always meant to write a review to demonstrate my appreciation of this fine family run hotel. Its location is brilliant, standing a mere three minutes' walk from Gloucester Road tube station, one tube stop away for High Street Kensington and only two stops for Sloane... More

Excellent location, right next to Gloucester Road tube station and around the corner from the Natural History Museum/Science Museum/V & A. We had a triple room with a lovely bathroom. The hotel was clean and quiet and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that breakfast was expensive but we are elsewhere.

This is the only place I will stay while in London. Why? For the location and people who work there. Special thanks to Peter, Auggie, Elvis, and Alicia! Can't wait to come back! It's a down to earth place and you do not have to be rich to stay here. The Tube station is across the road and there is... More

Staff were all friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, although there was a bit of mold in the shower. Prices were fair. Continental breakfast included toast, fruit, muffins, cheese, yogurt, coffee, tea, juice, etc. Close to many museums and the tube. The hotel was under construction on the outside so often there were workers outside our window. We were overall... More

My Husband I just finished our honeymoon stopping in three cities, while in London we spent three nights at this hotel. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. elevators are incredibly small and the hotel seems quite dated.

Stayed here for 2 nights, mainly for a Proms concert at the Royal Albert Hall, which is within walking distance. Convenient location near Gloucester Road underground station and small shops/cafes, also the South Kensington museums. Staff were on the whole friendly and helpful, especially the lady receptionist, and the waiter in the breakfast room. Room clean but small and shower-room... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
