We stay here twice annually and are never disappointed. The Wardens keep this beautiful site, its showers and toilet, its fresh water and waste disposal points, immaculate. They are hardworking, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Located in Abbey Wood, London, this site is a 5 minutes walk to the Bus stop in McCleod Road. The No. 180 bus runs every 10...

Stayed here in our motor home for 4 nights whilst at an event in London. Campsite is immaculate, amenities spotless & the staff absolutely lovely. The wildlife was fascinating to watch & listen to...foxes, squirrels & parakeets in abundance. Connection to London was easy & inexpensive. Great little cafe (Abbey cafe) on the way to the station which was great...

Fab site. Lots of character and very friendly and helpful wardens. We drove down from the midlands and the site was easy to find. The site has some very well established Horse Chestnut trees, this time of year is nuts time so it's a case of help yourself. There are loads of squirrels, and a few foxes. Watch out, as...

We were not expecting this (don't know why!) but this was one of the cleanest and most organised sites we have ever stayed at. It's a 5 minute walk from the railway station (direct route to Charing Cross) yet it's extremely calm and quiet. The pitches are gravel or grass and they are sufficiently spaced apart to ensure privacy and...

Just paid a brief visit to join members of my bible study group who camp there for a weekend in September most years recently. Impressed by the lovely trees, nature generally, great layout and decent loos.

At last a campsite with excellent facilities, no embarrassing dirty toilet block or 3rd rate shower facilities. Showers great cleaned regularly along with everything on site. A great deal of thought has gone into the planning here with many additions. Children's play area away from most pitches. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly a great place to stay. The only one...

What a little gem just outside the city of London. Couldn't fault it. Welcoming, perfectly clean. Shower had shelves, hooks and impressively 'stay on showers'. Extremely quite apart. Only let down - not much in Abbey Wood but 10 minute walk to main line train station.

We stayed here for 3 nights to visit London. It´s a great solution for that, the train station is close by and the site is just amazing. Generous spaces, lot of grass, trees, nice toilets. I´ll be back!!! ;)

Just back from a 6 night stay (over Bank Holiday weekend),at Abbey wood Caravan park. We stayed here a few years ago when going to the O2 for a concert, and thought then that it would be a good site for sightseeing. The site is always well maintained and clean, the wardens/staff very helpful, pitches are quite large and hard...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site is a Caravan Club Golden Jubilee Site and feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds making it a secure site. Good railway connections are within walking distance of the caravan site and will get you into Central London in just 35 minutes. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory. River cruises operate from nearby Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site between Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Westminster, Kew, Richmond and Hampton Court. Open all year, this is a busy caravan site and is very popular with European visitors during the summer months. There are good reasons to visit Abbey Wood throughout the year though. The Christmas Lights, shopping at the January Sales, the London Marathon, Excel Centre and the Chelsea Flower show can all be enjoyed from this scenic, yet well placed, site. ... more   less

“Booking in advance is a good chance to get a plot, but when in a big party, wanting to stay together and wanting good reception for satellite, you should state this to the person on the phone when booking, so that there is no complications.”

“If you have a pitch choice and like the sun try for a pitch lower down on the site, we were up nearer the woods which was shaded but it didn't bother us.”
