A truly stunning campsite given its location in the middle of The Royal Borough of Greenwich. The site must have been a garden or park for centuries before as there are some ancient trees on this gently sloping site. Upon arrival with our campervan we were given a map and told to look around for a nice pitch among the... More

Quite simply one of the best caravan sites we have been to. The location, the facilities and the staff are excellent. It has great links to Central London just 5mins from a rail station. Shower block facilities are superb and supermarkets are nearby. Even the wildlife is friendly. Can't wait to return.

Abbey wood camp site is a member of the caravan club, we have been members for many years and stayed at many sites, while they all have a high standard abbey wood is by far the best and is just a short bus or train ride into central London. Highly recommended.

Having recently discovered camping we got a last minute (on the day) booking here for a pre arranged visit to London. The camp site and facilities were clean and the staff were both friendly and helpful. The tent field although close to the toilets/showers had minimum privacy and there was a constant smell that we couldn't place. Initially we assumed... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and used the local station to travel to central London in no time. The site was spotlessly clean, and the staff all pleasant. It was nice to hear the owls and even a couple of woodpeckers. We will definitely be using Abbey Wood again when in the area

We have stayed on this site for a number of years now and find it quite extraordinary to be in such a busy city but hidden away in a quiet peaceful spot with squirrels, foxes and rabbits visiting you. The facilities are always clean and the staff are helpful and cheerful. You can take the bus to Greenwich which is... More

This is our third visit to one of our favourite sites. It is very convenient for central London by train. The site is kept very clean and is a secluded oasis in a residential area. One or two reviewers have complained about difficulty in getting out of the site before 8.00 am but all you have to do is park... More

you cannot get out with your car before eight in the morning. My family wanted to leave early to make it back home as it is about three hundred miles away and e wanted to beat rush hour traffic. We were told we could get out with a code but that's just for pedestrians. So if you have a car... More

Many thanks for leaving a review. We just want to address your concerns and clear up any confusion. The gates are locked at night for security purposes and everybody is advised of this on arrival and information about this is also printed on the site leaflet. People are also advised that if they need to leave before 8am to bring... More

Nice clean quiet caravan park close to station about 35mins into centre of London. If traveling across dart ford crossing don't forget to pay toll on website before you go or you will get a fine. But would happily visit again. Also don't forget to take your pass out with you if going to London as if you forget it... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site is a Caravan Club Golden Jubilee Site and feels positively rural when you reach this gently sloping verdant site. Its mature tree screening and spacious grounds making it a secure site. Good railway connections are within walking distance of the caravan site and will get you into Central London in just 35 minutes. Alternatively, nearby Greenwich offers its own blend of fascinating attractions, including the famous observatory. River cruises operate from nearby Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site between Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Westminster, Kew, Richmond and Hampton Court. Open all year, this is a busy caravan site and is very popular with European visitors during the summer months. There are good reasons to visit Abbey Wood throughout the year though. The Christmas Lights, shopping at the January Sales, the London Marathon, Excel Centre and the Chelsea Flower show can all be enjoyed from this scenic, yet well placed, site. ... more   less
